  • i have invented a travel maschine, but i cant find any k-pax planet..

  • I like this movie and the interesting concept, but sometimes I can't stand Prot's overt contempt. He keeps calling every other being in the universe (especially humans) an animal compared to his "KPAX" people. Sometimes I just want to punch him and knock the alien out of his head.

Great movie though. It gets you thinking.

  • #OMG Download or watсh thіs movie online роор.su

  • what i never understood about this film is how Port could know all that about the planets etc if he was just a human

  • @pithikoulis Prot was not a human, Robert was. Prot was the K-Paxian living inside a human body, Robert's ill body.

You can see the human, Robert, background when Dr.Powell hypnotises Prot.

  • my aunt is very sick

  • hahah fast thoughts and dreams... heheh

  • Mass = stored inertia. If matter is capable of flipping into a wave, that inertia is no longer stored and would be capable of embedding into a longer wave & multiplying recursively at phi ratio through the speed of light or beyond.

  • everything is possible. if you believe that you are the most powerful man on earth.

  • ye i am god nice to meat you

  • That is incorrect. In standard SI units the units for mass are Kilograms (kg) and the units for weight are Newtons (N). However, most people use mass when they are weighing things in their everyday lives and although that has become accepted it is not correct

  • Just wanted to say that I just watched man facing south east last night. There are a crap load of differences. There is no way that this movie ripped off man facing southeast. Gene Brewer (author of K-PAX) didn't even know about it's existence. They even dismissed the course case back in 2001 when he got sued (when he was accused of plagarism)

  • couldnt say it better my self adios aloha

  • In Man Facing Southeast, a brilliant masterpiece that K-PAX unlawfully plagiarized, Rantes, the extraterrestrial in question, explains that he is a projection of light in the function of a hologram.

  • Prot claims he came on a beam of light. He states that he is physically in the hospital, he is even detained by personelle at one point in the movie. I don't understand what you mean when you say K-PAX is a rip off. Maybe the story has some similar elements, but it is not a copy of another story.

  • Does anyone else agree that the older astrophysicist looks very similar to Eric Beckler ?

  • Camilo30635 K-pax is not a new version of man looking southeast, retard.

  • @Anriel2 no, only a copy

  • man looking southeast. Undoubtedly, 1986, deeply poetic film, light years away from the American version that was made in 2001 "K-Pax"

  • believe me or not.... he stole my music from my song... check my music video here on youtube from 1999 :" Addio Sasa Vukic"... please it's not a joke... and please watch from the start to the end

  • you done spamming this shit? gtfo youtube and call your goddamn fucking lawyer

  • just rip off.....

All amped up for this huge Demonstration and he just rips those scientists off...

  • Jeff Bridges is on his best and so is Kevin Spacey!

  • They really were.

  • I love the scene where Bridges tells him about Einstein and Prot says "Well, I would say that you haven't been listening very carefully, because what Einstein ACTUALLY said was that nothing could approach the speed of light because its mass would become infinite."

  • on thing to Einstein's " Law '' .. how com mass change simply by it's speed...if u move a rock at 1 mph it's 2 kg... at 100 mph...it's still 2 kg

  • energy is needed to accelereate. correct? will by einsteins "law" as an object approaches the speed of light, since the speed of light is a "max" speed, energy can still increase but energy can not be used to increase velocity, therefore the energy is sent into the particals of mass, causing them to increase is size at an infinite rate. at least that is what i understood it as. i am not saying i am 100% correct though.

  • A rock travelling at 100 mph is heavier than the rock travelling at 1 mph, but the effect is negligible. At speeds near the speed of light (c, which is ~180,000 miles/second) the effect becomes much more noticeable. If you accelerate mass towards c, you reach terminal velocity at one point: you can't go faster, so instead you get heavier (gain more mass).

This effect is noticeable in electrons which have little or no mass, but because they travel near the speed of light they do have some mass.

  • oh thanks ... u cleared that one out... i actually studied this one just today , well i started studing this in my phisics class ...

  • dont do it...its no use...no sciens today or ever in the future can solve the space traveling...there is a secret written in the tomb of king tutt that explains it...you have to go beyond the speed of light to be able to travel...

if you lern the writings of king tutt you will be able to time travel and space travel at the same time wich will make you get where you want in a flash of light and not stay and wait on a rocket many years at the time

  • "The only way to traverse the vast distances of space is to possess the means of manipulating, or altering, the very structure of space itself—altering the space-time geometric matrix which, to us, provides the illusion of form and distance. The method of achieving this lies in the alteration of the frequencies controlling the matter-antimatter cycles that govern our awareness or perception of position in the space-time structure. Time itself is a geometric, just as

  • just as Einstein postulated it. If time can be altered, the whole Universe is accessible to us. We are now on the threshold of exploring deep space."

    Bruce Cathie

    (He figured it out;)

  • @Gigano1986

nice, we are talking about space travel, how u able to measure terminal velocity ? your science only applicable in earth not in space or other planet ...

  • Einstein's theory of special relativity is applicable to everywhere where there is spacetime. Our entire universe consists of matter and energy interacting in this spacetime fabric. So his theory is applicable to anywhere in our universe, outer-space, other planets: everywhere.

Terminal velocity is only applicable to a situation concerning fluid dynamics and aerodynamics. Terminal velocity in reached because of drag. In the near vacuum of space there is no medium to cause such a drag.

  • @Gigano1986

correct me if i am wrong.

there are no terminal velocity in space, because of no drag; in you explanation of Einstein theory, max speed in universe is near light of speed, C will not exceed speed of 180K m/s, but instead you say the item or particle gain mass.

Thus a beam of light/ or a stone from another solar system, will accelerate to 180K m/s, and the particle will gain enormous mass when it hit earth ... it will destroy the atmosphere or earth ? ?

  • Photons, the quanta of light, are by themselves massless nor can they gain any mass. They already travel at the maximum speed allowed for anything in our universe. Photons do not experience this increase in weight. A particle at rest velocity will have its mass increased when it approaches c though.

There is a limit to the amount of mass any particle can gain through acceleration towards c. Increasing the mass of a single proton this way to 1 kg for example would take huge amounts of energy.

  • Fortunately for us such acceleration does not take place. It would probably take all the energy in a supernova to accelerate a proton so much that it would weigh 1 kg. So there is no need to worry for any hyper-accelerated extraterrestrial particles crashing into earth. The odds of such an event are extremely unlikely

  • they shoulda asked him to disappear for 4 minutes and come back. good movie though

  • if that happened, he would have fell unconscious to the ground for 4 minutes..even then, it would not be sufficient to prove that he was an alien. They could have accused him of faking the unconsciousness..

  • ? the whole premise was that he went and came back so fast that they didnt notice it. they should have asked him to go and stay there for a bit and the come back when some earth time passes so that they know he is not there anymore.

but its pretty clear the ending revealed he was an alien

  • They missed something there. How about going without turning back?

  • r8wing, he would have refused to participate in that kind of light travel because it was not yet time for prot to head back to k-pax.

  • ok, thanks for making this scene clear 321clara... i thought that he left with the body, but that since he travels really, really fast... it was as if he didnt even move..

  • What's the big deal? I can teleport....

  • What about the girl? Didn't she disappear?

  • ecpete86, if you are referring to beth (cant remember if this is her name since i watched this movie years ago), then yes..she went to K-pax with prot. This is why she was nowhere to be found at the end of the movie. Prot was a man of his word and since he promised 1 person to take back, he chose her because of her story.

  • Did he really disappear? I'm gonna watch this movie again. Where exactly are they at? Anybody know?

  • Well, they were at the Rose Planetarium in New York. He doesn't disappear, and that's part of the scene.

  • yes he really disappeared. He is basically an alien from K-Pax. I can remember proving this point to several people after watching this movie. However, prot is using robert porters body as a vessel, which is why robert is found lying on the ground when prot finally beams back to k-pax. A very touching movie. One of a kind.

  • I LOVE this film, as well as the movie 'Contact'. Both approach the definitions of 'Life' & 'Reality' with ingenuity.

  • lol, just for yahoo answers?

  • love him as an actor.

    thanks forthe great amv!

  • Great - fantastic - thank you so much for posting!

5 stars and an Oscar for you!

  • Ehm, thanks I guess :P I just needed the clip for my blog decon . tfan . dk
