I got this one a few months ago ; it's a real jewel, and the bonus parts are really cool. The only drawback is that it's relatively delicate compared to other SOC figures.
i must admit i was never really a fan of reideen growing up halfway through the 70'S( 75-80) i only knew the ones from force five! eventhough my brother gave me one i really did not relate to him but this figure is the greatest looking one! love bird mode!a true SOC!
If you haven't thought of it i would display the white model in normal form and the metal variant in god bird mode. Yeah with all the game imports ive brought in theirs always one tiny part that breaks. Most recently i got the new evangelion unit 00 revoltech with natural packaging and materials and the dam umbilical cable snapped off when i was being paranoid and trying to prevent that. First day as well, just seems like they skimp on the small mundane aspecs quality wise a lot.
yo man thats alot of reideens! my brother gave me one vintage one and one reissue but honestly eventhough they look pretty sweet its before my time but i keep them for their collectibility and simply cause i liked force five! go getter dragun!
too bad it has some little factory bugs (the tiny pegs, lose parts i mean)but i'd still get one myself. LOVE the fact we can see the anime transformation so we can compare, :D I do wish it came with the little human pilot.
well done for a raydeen fan but i have to say the jumbo 24 inch that mattel made in the 70s was the best with the shooting arm and yellow planes for any kid even to this day
hi josh nice review. just wish you handle your toy more delicately so don't brake parts as much.. as we can see how you toss the parts around when you do your reviews. other than that is very good!!!
PS: The big blade is called the "Head Cutter." When in God Bird, the head shoots off (thus the molded spare head with the engine built in the back) and the Head Cutter is hidden underneath.
I finally got my copy... you're so right. The attachment for the shield/sword is... the best pop-culture words that fit to describe the attachment point is EPIC FAIL.
The rest of the figure is excellently done. I plan on picking up the deluxe set now too... but that shield attachment.... What were they thinking? It is super tiny, fragile to the extreme and doesn't actually hold the shield on if you so much as BREATHE on it.
i picked the deluxe model up when i went on my vacation in hawaii... carried it all the way back east by hand... it even got xrayed at the airport... well worth it... i never got to see the anime, but i think reideen's design is the most unique and funky of all the 70's robots...
