Halocrazy is right. During daytime it is only under very limited conditions that a person can see into a glass-paned window and distinguish things inside. The reasons are physical. During daytime in most structures there is far more light outside of a windowed room, particularly a sun-facing room, than there is inside it. The difference combined with modern window tempering treatments that add reflectivity means, unless there's a light on inside, you can't see inside. Go outside and try it.
i live in florida and i dunno for sure if it was google but it was a van that said stay back a certain amount of feet i forget exactly how much but it said road data collection or some shit i assume it has something to do with streetview and it had a big camera lookin thing on the roof
people were still passing it though it was goin like 45 in a 45
The world needs to rise up and put an end to such things as google street view, phone tapping, computer tapping, cameras on street corners, and all other things which are a violation of freedom!!

:S oh yeah good eh, people driving around with cameras that can see right into your window. If you notice how high it is when it drives past that window, it can't JUST see in, its at a height where it can see in and probably see the floor too if you zoom so can see everything you're doing
Oh yes of course that's all huh? Not a problem if the world sees you having sex with your g/f, or doing something that you don't want others to see (not illegal). In other words, PRIVATE things you idiot. Who the fuck gives them the right to go around the fucking country looking into EVERYONE'S house?
WOW, dude. Hate to ruin your rant, but here's something to think about; if you're "having sex with your g/f, or doing something that you don't want others to see (not illegal)" then consider *drumroll*................buying shades. Or drapes. Or curtains. Know who gives the people the right to look inside someone's house? An unblocked window. Last time I checked, I could look in people's windows from the street all day long. I don't think I will, but I definitely could. Chill out and think.
You're wrong, get over it. People can't see you having sex on your couch or floor from just walking past your window when the blinds are open. A camera that is that high up can, you're so dumb. How many people do you know who are as tall as that camera was you dumb shit lol.
OH, so if you're doing something on your second floor, then you shouldn't cover the windows because you reason 'nobody can see us anyway.' This is like arguing with a toddler. How about if I sat in a coach bus riding down the street? Should I turn my head every time we cruise past a house with open windows? Here's the point: people could ride on top of a 20-foot ladder on wheels if they wanted, there's nothing stopping me anyone from looking in windows. Use your head.
@onejordangerous You can't see in the second floor of someone's house from a double-decker bus... And how does one ride on a 20ft ladder? Anyway, that's not really the point is it? God, it's like arguing with a little child. There is a difference between 1. A person happening to see in your window, and 2. A camera recording images of you in your house and posting it on the internet for the rest of time.
If you can't see the difference between those two things, then you're clearly a moron.
@halocrazy86 No, neither the unlikelihood of a rolling ladder you can ride on nor a person's vantage point from a bus are the point. What the folks from Google accidentally record from the street isn't violating anyone's rights because they're legally recording from a public/commonly shared area. Plus I think GoogleMaps is "GoogleMaps," not "GoogleLookIntoPeople'sHomesToSpyOnYou." Want privacy? Be private. If you can't understand THAT then you're clearly worse than a moron-- a moron in denial.
@onejordangerous You're right: the street is a public place. Inside your home - that is private. Do you still not see the difference? There's not much point in continuing this debate as it is blatantly obvious you are irrational and silly.
@onejordangerous P.S. You didn't let it be known whether you can see the difference between those two things; I think you're avoiding it because you know I'm correct. Also, it's not 'Google Maps' it's 'Google Street View'... Silly :)
@onejordangerous Oh, and you must be one of the dumbest people in this entire universe to have actually just said "...accidentally record from the street..." So now you're saying the cameras and recording equipment on these cars was somehow put there by pure accident and people just happen to be driving the cars with said equipment around streets - just for a little drive around - and 'accidentally' record all this stuff? Strange, that.
@halocrazy86 Ah, pardon me. Let me clarify since it seems to be necessary: what they accidentally record, as opposed to what they're intending to record, like people doing things in their homes versus "street views" of commonly-travelled roadways (in order to give basic landmarks for directions), respectively...I'm starting to get the feeling you're arguing for the sake of arguing, just to feel the self-satisfaction that usually comes with being right about some sort of thing. Good luck pal.
@onejordangerous Maybe you should just come to terms with the fact you're wrong in this argument. It happens in life. But you get two types of people: one type who can accept they are wrong; and the other type (you) who can't accept it and will never admit it. It would make sense for them to record these 'commonly travelled' roadways from a 'commonly' viewed perspective then. I guess you won't understand that either. I'm sure other people who read this will understand perfectly what I mean.
@halocrazy86 Let me ask you this: have you ever used GoogleMaps? Seems pretty similar to a normal person's perspective to me. Ever wonder why paparazzi can get some of the shots they do of celebs homes, properties, etc? Because (MOST of the time) it's perfectly legal... I don't know how in any of your posts you've proven me wrong yet and believe me, I'll certainly admit it as soon as you do, but until then I maintain that GoogleMaps isn't to be faulted for someone's lack of common sense.
@onejordangerous *Google Street View* Getting the titles of what we're arguing about here mixed up again. You must be out of your mind to be honest. Actually completely out of your mind. Why don't you press play on the video, pause it at exactly two seconds and tell me: is that a commonly viewed perspective? I mean are you serious? Are you a lunatic? You must be if you can't look at that and see that the view from where the driver is and the view from the huge TALL camera on the car is different
@halocrazy86 You're right, it's actually called "Street View," provided by GoogleMaps (reminds me of the days when I thought it was 10:30 and my little brother would say it's actually 10:32). Again, I pose my question: have you actually used it? Probably should, the perspective's about as realistic as you can get from a moving vehicle. On a side note, you haven't been able to refute much of anything from nearly any post I've made. Aside from nitpicky details, have you really proven anything?
@onejordangerous I think it's clearly obvious to me, and anyone else who reads this argument between the two of us, that I have completely proven you wrong. Let's have a look. You said it's a normal perspective - now either you have no idea what I am meaning when I say a 'normal perspective' - or you're a complete and utter dim individual. So I guess I'll have to carefully explain what I actually mean. A normal perspective, to me, would mean the camera being at the same height as (contin.)
@onejordangerous a driver's head inside their vehicle, or the same height as the average human being on the pavement. Is that clear now? Now, what you are saying is that google street view, is taken from this normal perspective. So I think you must be a little retarded to think I have not proven you wrong by telling you to look at the height of the camera in the video. Exactly what I've been debating from the start - you can't seem to understand that though, or just don't want to admit it.
@onejordangerous P.S. If you were educated you'd know that it's very important to use the correct language and correct titles so people know exactly what you're talking about. So my telling you that we are discussing google street view and not google maps is not analogous with your little brother telling you the time is "10:32". But maybe you don't need to know that that's important because maybe you don't need to write essays and dissertations - I'm guessing you're just the average loser.
@halocrazy86 Funny. My own intelligence, my "status" in academia, and my current education (according to logic) don't mean a thing when it comes to being right or wrong. If a 10-year-old finds a cure for a disease, it's still a cure, nothing less. Honestly at this point (and really from the start) I don't care what you've decided you think you know about me. If YOU'LL recall, the original argument was about whether GoogleMaps Street View was violating your rights as an individual, but since...
@halocrazy86 ...you haven't proven that wrong, it seems we've gone off on a tangent. This video is this video, and you've been very "broken record-like" in pointing out the height on the camera. However, I feel I've been just as repetitive in asking you to see the finished product. Here, I'll say it again: look at GoogleMaps Street View yourself. This mysterious "nonhuman perspective" doesn't really exist, and actually, unless you're doing whatever you're doing wearing high-visibility clothes...
@onejordangerous Now your lie: "Now your lie: "he original argument was about whether GoogleMaps Street View was violating your rights as an individual..."
Really - I think I know enough to judge that you are not only a complete and utter fool, but you also lie to try and somehow justify your bad argument by attempting to make accusations of the other party going off on a tangent.
@onejordangerous Anyone can see in this argument that from the very beginning you have had a flawed argument. You first argued that the camera seeing into your window and *recording* images of you in your own private home was not wrong. Then you argued that the camera was taken from a 'normal perspective' (i.e., from the same view a driver would have going down the street - or a pedestrian). Arguing that black is white is never a good idea. Be well.
@halocrazy86 ...you can't really make out anything behind people's windows anyway. I hope whatever it is you were trying to get out of this is finally within your grasp now, especially since all you've managed to show me is when people are backed into a corner without a real argument, they'll stray off topic and attack your vernacular and character. Good day to you sir/ma'am.

@onejordangerous So reply again if you want, please. Keep trying to somehow prove to me, and anyone else who reads this and might happen to be bright enough to be on my side, that the cameras fitted to these cars video from a 'normal perspective' - because it's pretty futile to argue with you then if, even with the evidence of *this* video, you are arguing against the factual evidence.
