Hellas Fos (ex. Prairial) is one of four ULCC's that hade the biggest displacement from the beginning (around 555.000 DWT). But Porthos/Oppama/Seawise Giant/Happy Giant/Jahre Viking/Knock Nevis is the biggest ship ever AFTER RECONSTRUCTION, and that is another thing. Anyway, the VLCC in this movie, Hua San (318.000 DWT) is still impressive. If you have been aboard one of these ships you will know.

No, the biggest ship ever built was "Seawise Giant". It was it was 564,763 DWT and was 458.45 m long.

The biggest tanker was Hellas Fos (ex Prarial) from the Batillus class of four ships...Battilus, Bellamaya, Pierre Guillaumat, Prarial. They were 275,000 Gross Tonnes in size. The Jahre Viking (Seawise Giant ) was 264,000 GT. This is the actual L x H x W size of a ship. The actual weight (lightship weight) record goes to the Hellas Fos (Prarial...Batillus group).

The deadweight tonnage record goes to Jahre Viking. That ship was longer but not wider or higher from the keel.
