  • Thanx man i learned something from you today. I appreciate it.

  • Great video! Thanks for posting.

Take care. Stay safe. Keep the faith.

  • i actually built those same ones except my are about the length of my arm. and the noodle covers most of the pvc pipe except for about 4 or 5 inches on one end. i have only a dozen right now and it has cost me around 20 dollars. check out my channel in the near future i might make a video of mine.

  • Heck I always end out with crabs, ladyfish, seatrout...anything but a catfish ... just my luck though

  • Wtf is catfish jugging? :D hehe

  • very nice it worked well ty :D

  • how much would you say 1 dozen would take to make?

  • @epicchapnasty considering if you have no supplies around the house, 12 made = $30-35 depending on where you go home depot or lowes and what grade of pvc you use.

hunt hard, hunt safe, God Bless.

    -Dave

  • @journeytheoutdoors thanks alot. Your videos are very helpfull.

  • @flamedrag18 man he said 3$ not 30$ you need to listen again.

  • Great jug design! Thanks

  • thanks so much for this vid man, very helpful

  • Great ideal .....but add reflective tape to top end and it works Great at night too.

  • i always catch catfish by fishing on the bottom of the river on the river floor.. was the line used in this video short just to show how it is made or do use that length of line when u use it to catfish?

  • @lilbubka NO THIS IS THE ACTUAL LENGTH I USE ON THE JUG, IT IS FOR SHALLOW BANK AREAS CATFISH PICK IT UP AND SWIM BACK TO THE DEEP AND END UP SETTING THE HOOK ON THEM SELVES.

  • Where can you get a pcv pipe???

  • home depot, lowe's or stores like those.

  • I like this setup, thanks for showing.

  • I've always seen bottles used as jugs but those look like they would work a lot better thanks for the info

  • How long of a line do you use? do you unwind the line all the way and then release to ensure the noodle doesn't go upright upon release or does the line unroll itself and is able to stay horizontal?

  • i let the line unroll itself after i toss it.

  • Just get a windshield cleaner jug tie a know around the cap with some line and put a treble hook on it =$5.00 (Or Less)

  • Where on earth have men like this gone??!?! did the angels stop manufacturing on them?

  • @latoywri were here you have to look for us, we stay on the rivers lakes and in the woods!oh yea and work

  • ok, correction, you'd make 5 jugs with 10" length of PVC pipe, so it's $3 for each jug, making it $6.25per jug, still a lot less then $30.

  • for the hooks, 25 for around $10, so 25 cents for the hook, and the weight is about 30-50 cents. also for the eye bolt and nut, around 50 cents. the rebar can be found free at any junk yard or construction site.

from what I'm seeing, for each jug it's about $5.25, that's a sixth of your estimate.

I'm not ranting or badgering you, just saying that there's no way someone's going to pay $30 for a catfishing jug, I could get all this at the local grocery and fishing shop.

  • $30? wow, I don't believe what you have there is $30 worth of stuff.

lets say $6 for the noodle, you can make 5 from a noodle(they're about 5 1/2 feet long, a foot a jug) so lets say a dollar. the PVC pipe, 1/2" ID, about $15 for for 10' length, that means $1.50 per jig. the caps for the PVC pipe, a screw end cap is about a dollar and a solid one's 50 cents, so $1.50 for caps. then for the line, you can buy 500' of #12 tarred seine twine for $15, almost not noticeable on the total price........

  • you mother fucker you use 18 in pvc &cut 9 in of noddle put the 9 in of noddle in the center put rebar in the tube put caps on and use 420 pound test line and use 4, 5, or 6 hooks use shad or chiken liver you can make 25 noddles per person you bring on the boat.

  • @ryanmoseley2 geez... way to be a dick

  • i am from mississippi use this same method love always works for me

  • making a few today, i always used gallon jugs, we will see how this goes

  • How long should the rebar need to be?

  • @Cope1216 6'' rebar

  • Great video. Thanks for sharing your method!

  • Cant wait till weather warms up to try it. Great Vid!

  • how long should the pvc pipe be?

  • @pootersambo about 26" and the noodle should be 11-12"

hunt hard, hunt safe, eat well.

    -Dave

  • well I guessed right then , I estimated about 24 to 30 inches

  • my daughter and I are goin out this weekend, she cant wait. and thanks again

  • This is really cool. It is a great idea for sure. I am going catfishing this weekend, I might give this a try then or definitely sometime real soon. Very cool

  • its good information for jugging but not how i nkow how but this might be more efective

  • u the man

  • we use a 2 liter. lol.

  • what do you use for bait?

  • Great job Dave! Very good tutorial.

  • I like this, i'm going to try it.

  • hey it sounds like a great idea.. my friend and i just started to hunt for the monster cat but havein troble.. any hint(bait) were hittin north texas and middle texas

  • what do you use as bait?

  • @bassdudemike i use chicken liver and shad

  • i go out and ccatch brim and small fish like that that and cut it in half and put it on the hook and come back the next mornig and u might have one on the line u might not

  • what size circle hooks do you use?

  • @boudain1 1/0 or 2/0 circle hooks

  • I enjoy hunt tip thank man I hunt public land do you think I see a lot

  • @74crooklyn public land? I love public land, the deer there sharpen my skills quickly. they don't let you get a second shot if you miss and they are as scared and nervous as Rihannna at a Chris Brown concert! hahaha

hunt hard, hunt safe, eat well.

    -dave

  • Nice

  • awesome works really well to

  • nice set up there good job on the video too

  • I use coke bottle as jugging .it is cost-less .....ur catfish juging cost 4 or up dollars

  • i would do this but the river i live by people will take ur shit, same as the lake here too

  • i do something thats much easier, i take a two liter bottle, get some havy duty catfish braid from walmart, cut out 2 pieces, 1 being longer than the other. tie the ends of both on to the neck of the bottle. then for weights i like to use railroad spikes. and then tie a hook on the short line so that the baits hanging off the bottom a couple feet. i always spray paint the bottle a bright neon green.

  • Good Idea

  • Is it possible to have more than one hook with same or increased results

  • is this float buoyant enough for you to find a really big catfish??or will they takeit under for a long time ??

  • how much line do you use and what type thanks

  • Is there anyway you can make a video showing how to do it from a dock? I don't have access to a boat and really would want to try it?

  • thanks very descripting

  • can you use this with snappers and any othere fish

  • Can someone Jug fish from a dock? Also Dave, I don't understand what keeps the PVC pipe inside the noodle, did you glue it on the pipe? THanks

  • yes you can fish it from a dock tie 30lb test on a catfish fishing rod to the eyelet of the jug set it and let it float out(dont throw out). yes you can glue the noodle on the tube, but you dont have to. the fit is really tight.

  • Can you make a video Jugging from a Dock. I don't have access to a boat

  • cool

  • You can also use sand instead of rebar as long as your pvc is air tight, by the way great video

  • great video this beats the hell out of milkjugs lol. those things catch wind like a sail

  • Thanks for showing this, even made me laugh: "...catfish comes along, he says, ooh, nice snack..." "You can see this from, pfff, a mile away."

    Really great video- clear explanation.

  • great idea! thanks for sharing

  • Duck and geese hunting is a lot of fun, Does any one have a Henry ar7 survival rifle, if so how do you like it

  • Hey Dave would the jug work for bass

  • maybe with live bait.

oh, and nice name by the way! hahaha

hunt hard, hunt safe, eat well.

    - dave

  • Great video as always! I not sure about only kids using noodles ive seen some large men using then also. HA HA i know you get it. Dave you are a wealth of outdoor knowledge. Keep it up.

  • hahaha I'm guilty. sometimes a brotha cant swim

  • Awesome. Very informative.

  • Cool stuff Dave. We do the same stuff down here. 5*

  • Great video! I always wondered how jug fishing works and how to make the jugs.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Heres a tip, small hooks catch small fish, big hooks catch big fish! But yeah I have to agree with maintem, need a better way to attach the line to the "jug". The eye will eventually break out from the rebar slamming in to it all the time. This thing is only built to catch 5-10lb fish max and thats being nice. A bit puny considering I'm used to catching 50+ lbs cats on my lines.

  • fish is gonna pull that pvc cap off or the screw right through, thats why u use a bottle because he aint gna break that line

  • Wow Dave,

I feel very much appreciated and welcome to your outdoors society. Thanks so much! I'm working on getting me a camera and truck so I too can Video tape my outdoors adventure. Thanks again dave, God Bless!

  • have you ever taken one of those old phones that you spin the dial pad and cut the wires and shock the fish?

  • awsome!!!!

  • good deal!!!! great how2!!!! nice job on the vid!!5/5

    james

  • Great vid. How;s the boat and truck coming along.

  • the truck is running strong through the over 24'' of snow we got. the boat is still in repair. so far I rebuilt the power trim motor and valve body, also I rebuilt then had to replace the starter. started on the upholstery and I'm now ready to drop the floor

and put in the live wells for the crappie tourny in may.

  • Good to hear, keep up the videos.

Luckily we don't get snow down here.

  • that's a great idea there! thanks for showing us!

  • LOL thats pretty cool nice vid :)

  • Hey Dave, nice design. I've been using these types of jugs for over 5 years but they are of a more simple construction. My PVC is only about 8 inches long with about 1 1/2 " sticking out of the noodle. The line is attached to the PVC where it sticks out, then runs through the noodle and out about 6" to a swivel. From that point I can attach any length of line. In the rivers I run 4-6 feet deep. Deeper in lakes. I may make some with the rod so after the initial hit the jug will stay up.

  • sounds pretty good. post pics if you can.

  • great idea! thanks for sharing

  • Great tips dave & i love jug fishing to
