I'm building my first VAWT now and have hit a problem. What alternator to use? I've got no money to spend on a decent one, so I've been looking around for old machines which have stepper motors or alternators and solenoids.
What can you recommend? My project is small, so something which works on a low rpm would be ideal.
Consulta, junto a mi padre estamos en un proyecto similar, pero con, pretendemos hacer con hélices verticales, si bien se ve movimiento, en tu video no se aprecia que tenga carga eléctrica alguna, ya que esta "frenaría" las aspas por las carga.
¿Como ha sido tu experiencia en la generación de electricidad?

Try a fisher and paykel smart drive motor, out of an old washing machine. Search smart drive on youtube for more info.
