first of all.. if your running one program at a time it's ok.. try to run more then one and it sucks.. the 3d does not work. i only posted this video show unbuntu on ps3 .showing that you can install it. but to use it ..thats a n'other storie.. anyways there will be better version made.. but it runs ok on ps3..

Ya know what I want? I dont want to install Ubuntu on my PS3. But I do want to run Ubuntu applications meant for Ubuntu. Such as firefox, inkscape, or whatever linux program. like google earth. Why in the freakin' world doesnt GoogleEarth COME WITH PS3. stupid google lol.

Thanks for showing this video but did you install this on the ps3 using the regular Ubuntu disc that the company sends by the mail or did you have to burn a special iso version of Ubuntu for the ps3.

When I first went through the installation process it coudnt detect my wireless access point. So I skiped that now I have ubuntu without network...help?

I typed in my wep key but says my network cant be found. whats wrong?

this is what i did during installation:

i had to reset my acces point to its default

then enter the info when you set your ps3 wireless (note: do not use the ethernet cable at all if you want to set up wireless that will set ethernet as your default and you wont get any wireless trust me!)

network name:(this is my default network name)2wire482

wep-open

key:use your default key

it worked for me!! hope it does for you.

first of the cd you got is it made so you can install it on the ps3? if so put the cd in the ps3 in the ps3 menu got to system then install other os,,it will install a few files then you go ro default os it will boot up and go and start the rest of the installation.. vut if you meed more help go to psubuntu,com..

when i boot up to unbuntu i let it boot till it gets to kboot. then i press enter and it boots up ro the login screen..

i dont know wats up but when i run it on the ps3, shows 2 pinguins rite?i push just enter then displays bunch of other text.then they disapear then it loads the other checking some kernal variables and watever but like on your video, it shows the orange screen with the log in, mine still shows the text but says ubuntu login. i type the username and pass then it sais the programs included with the ubuntu system are free software- and other crap. at the very end shows my username@ buntu:~$_ .help?

well,a friend asked me to find for him how to put umbutu in ps3,and when i found for 8,10,it was saying that during installing it might stop,some screen problems might happen and some other i dont remember.but since it was ok to your ps3,i will tell him to do it

i had no problems intalling it. but one thing make sure when you boot into ubuntu that the ps3 camara is unpluged cause your mouse wont work..it will freeze the mouse..
