  • One of the best scenes of the movie.

  • RIP Bruno(little Clemenza) :(

  • Billy Crystal talking about Mickey Mantle and the Yankees - I believe , no I know he mentioned that in the DVD documentary of HBO's 61*

  • Listening to Daniel Stern talking about his best day reminds me of Kevin Arnold telling his story.

  • this is a great scene.

many movies are written with the cheesiest dialogue.trying to be genuine.many miss the mark.

this one knocks it out of the park.bravo

  • I saw the movie I new they cut somthing out there when I saw it it was only miches answer

  • The day I was born. That was a pretty good day.

  • helloowww ??

  • Massively underrated film; one of the least cynical i've ever watched.

  • I was the Bruno Kirby character, except I was 12. I worked everyday taking care of my Mom and 2 sisters. I never saw my Dad again until I was 35. I never missed him.

  • RIP Bruno Kirby. Maximum respect, man, to pull of a great emotional vignette like that right in the middle of a very funny scene. It takes skill to pull that off, man. Great actor.

  • I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION!! I can narrow it down to 3 GREAT DAYS from DIFFERENT DAYS in My LIFE!!! Tell me it's a tough Q?

  • best movie ever billy crystall is awesome

  • Best day, let's see...coming home alive after being over in Iraq/Afgan.

Worst day: Finding out my mom and dad both have cancer (different types).

  • Best Day: There was this girl in my 120 math class in college. She was a Redhead, busty and beautiful. For the whole semester, we never spoke. On the day of our Final, I finally and talk to her. We talked for over 4 hrs. That night, in her room, on her bed, I find out she liked me the whole time too.

WORST DAY: 1 yr later, our anniversary. She died right in front of me. I was going to propose that night. She was going to be my wife. She wanted to be a Mom and teacher. She loved kids I miss her

  • Awesome movie. The sequel was great too.

  • I loved this movie at 18, I am now 37 and still enjoy it...

  • I love Daniel Stern. He played Marv from Home Alone and he was born in Maryland.

I could find him for a reason.

  • @sean82091 also the voice for The Wonder Years!

  • This scene is in my top 3 list of great scenes TV edits out of movies. The other two are the octopus fight from Goonies and the balloon animal scene from the Mask (the offensive part is about 2.3 seconds and not important, but they drop a 3 minute scene for it).

  • @legionaireb this scene is in the movie

  • @DAVEACE I know this scene is regularly in City Slickers, but it is often cut down or completely removed on TV.

  • I don't think I have a best day.......yet!

  • Well I guess the best is yet to come! Good Luck!

  • @nightwarrior1 Thanks! I know it will come, I just know it will. One that isn't joy or victory, but peace. Thanks for the comment.

  • @nightwarrior1 Actually, I'm 13. My father buys me a copy of the tape "Purple Rain". We listen to it in the car and I fall alseep not even half way through it. The next morning, my father gets me in the car raving about the album/tape. I listen to it and he says to me, "This is soul. This is the real thing." I remember riding around LA listening to that album over and over and my father and I talking and talking. Yeah, maybe my best day.........so far!

  • Best day: each day I realise how lucky I am to share with friends and family, to live.

Worst day: each day I think to my mum and my brother who passed away.

    Life is a yoyo.

  • I have never had anything close to a best day. I've had some good moments but best day... nothing yet. Worst day was 7 years ago. My wife who cheated on me left me. She called my sister and left with my 1 yr old son while it was raining. I saw him looking at me through the window. She never looked back. That moment, for some reason is the worst. My house and everything I owned burned to the ground and yet that meant nothing. With her, Its like I knew I'd never have what I THOUGHT I had again.

  • I loved Bruno Kirby, the actor who plays Ed. He passed away in 2006. He was a good actor.

  • I love this scene. Funny thing is that every single guy my dad's age who went to a Yankee game in the 50's and 60's all say that Mickey hit one out when they went. Now, he did hit a lot of home runs, but you wonder if they selectively added that memory without even realizing it. I think that's kind of cool.

  • best day- the day i graduated college. so proud when they put the degree in my hand.

worst day- i';m 23 yrs old and my doctor finds lumps in my breasts. scariest moment of my life. turned out okay but still..

  • I'm glad it turned out well for you; there's no way to prepare for the 'c' word and I know. I'm 'under observation' now. Stay strong.

  • Everyday since is a TIE! ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha....that's a "Fun" laugh. Bulls-eye. Thank you = >))

  • Best Day: My last college hockey game. It was sad and happy all at the same time. I was happy that I accomplished something that I will always carry with me. 3 years of full out, heart and commitment. Sad that is was over. Those days, fun times and teammates would never be the same.

Worse day: Yesterday. I've made some mistakes but yesterday I spent it in Cook County Jailhouse when I was trying to right my mistakes.

  • This is such a powerful movie. I really wish it got more mainstream love.

  • Great scene with these three guys!!!

  • Best day: Met my future wife in church after Sunday service two years ago.

Worst day: I'm 15, and I come home to find out my cousin had been murdered.

  • R.I.P., Bruno Kirby - what a great scene for you...

  • this wasn't in the movie, was it? what a shame! great scene!

  • oh, yea...it's in the movie.

  • @Bhuvano actually it was

  • @Bhuvano Best scene in the movie.

  • Love this movie. It's an oft-overlooked classic.

  • Can you answer this question? Whoa! First time I saw the pretty girl on the school bus at 5 years old. What the heck were kooties, except for kids or girls I didn't like!

  • best day: finally beating my uncle in poker, the game he taught me...only took me 15 years

worst day: my o.d. on heroin, but i've been clean ever since for 5 and a half years

  • bravo man

    3 cheers

  • You go man!! bravo!

  • @BramptonsFirstYFEBro See how things can change?

  • My best day was when I won the tennis grand final.. it was great.. My worst day - take my ex boyfriend to court.. Cause he was an ass..!!

  • It's a life lesson

  • "This isn't the one about arlene and that loose step is it?" Classic

  • Great scene. City Slickers is modern classic. I especially loved Kirby's best and worst day revelation. Thanks for sharing.

  • where can i watch online?

  • every time I hear Daniel Stern's voice (the guy with glasses) it reminds me of The Wonder Years

  • How much did he get paid for that anyway?

  • THE FIRsT TIME I SAW THIS MOVIE I WAS OBSESSED WITH NORMAN THE CALF!!!!!!! lol!!!

  • I'm watching this on tv now 4 months later lol

  • what is the baby cows name?

  • His name is Norman. and in the sequal he appears as a full grown cow.

  • norman the calf

  • Like a punchline, "everyday since is a tie!" The good day stuff was sweet, but that was hilarious!

  • Bruno Kirby R.I.P.

  • WHO IS BRUNO KIRBY

  • The Actor in the stripped(Ed)shirt is Bruno.

  • I met him while we were in line to see "Spy Game" at the Avco theatre in Westwood in L.A.. I told him he was funnier than Robin Williams in "Good Morning, Vietnam". I think he did a few years later.

  • Amen

  • Great film - geat clip - great moment

  • i like this part in the movie its really good and love billy

  • One of my favorite movies of all time!

  • NORMAN! =D

  • im watchin this on tv now yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • Ha ha, so am I now on ITV+1

  • Great movie about life.

  • Best scene in the way of male bonding. Wish there could be more scenes like this.

  • I felt like a man! It was the best day of my life! LOL!!

  • 'This isn't about Arlene and that loose step, is it?' lmao!

    This film is great!

  • Amazingly poignant scene in a comedy. They don't make 'em like they used to.

  • Mitch's baseball story is true, it happened to Billy Crystal as a kid. Micket Mantle signed his program twice: once that day and once years later when Billy was an adult and famous and they were on the Tonight Show together.

I've had a lot of great days and I can't pick a best one. The worst was the day my Dad died. We got the call at 4:00AM and it seemed like years before midnight came and we could escape that day.

I hate to think there are days yet to come that will be even harder.

  • Well, I'm sorry to hear that...though if you ask me, there really isn't any harder a type of day than when a family memeber or friend passes away...when that's happened to me, I can at least make it a little better by pondering on the fact they're in a better place, I hope you can think that way for your father.

  • sorry this is my 3rd fave movie

  • I can relate to bruno kirby's best day.

  • the part about baseball was added in by billy crystal and was not originally part of the script. He added in b/c of him being a big new york baseball fan. just some trivia there. your welcome

  • i love dis film

  • Great clip!
