I think the cause of her less fame than she deserves is that somehow her best ones were not presented well nor appreciated as such by Korean people.

Probably a marketing problem or lack of show-biz people's poor music level in the past.

In Wikipedia, her best ones are marked in bold letters. I found that those ones are far from Hwayobi's real best as far as I can tell!

The best ones shown there were kinda close to Trot which is not exactly Hwayobi's real superior genre.

She sure used to sound awesome. But the husky part of her voice was not natural, but forced. So, she ruptured her voice band, had surgery. Now, her voice sounds really really bad. Even when she just tries to speak, she sounds very funny. So sad. The whole image of her now seems different. check her out on recent music talk show called "sketch book".

@brazilianspiritzz she still does sound awesome now...and way back her speaking voice has always been different from her singing voice. :) She is still e same old Yobi to fans who has known her since then. Her talents is still as strong it has been before and she had a glorious comeback for the recent album. If one follows the Korean ent news not just via overseas kpop news, one should know that Yobi and her other great counterparts/ non- idols are still staying strong in the k music industry :)

She even had depression and problems. To avoid it, she also explained how she tried not to have the surgery, but she had to have it. If she's staying strong in K music industry, why film cheap sex appeal photos? If you are truly Yobi's Fan, you'd not like it as the official fan club says. See the facts, dude. She's nice girl.
