  • I like Cher in fun - less serious songs but she doens't have the sudtlety that Art has for a truly moving song.

  • Everytime I look for some Jimmy Webb music on the Tube, I find yet another song I didn't know he wrote. Like "My beautiful balloon" The man is a freekin genius. He was sooo born to write songs. I actually love to hear him sing his own stuff. Bravo Jimmy!

  • Garfunkel and Cher, they should have made an album together. With Jimmy Webbs help, it no doubt would have sold millions.

  • Nice.

  • A treasure.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Cher's lower register in this song.

  • Cher and Art sound really good together in All I know in this clip. I was lucky enough to see Jimmy Webb in concert last year! He wrote some real gem of songs!

  • Art has a voice of an angel. His hair, not so much.

  • LOVE love love. Can't say it enough. Cher is always classic and Art is so amazing. Wonderful duet.

  • They Should Make An Album Together.

  • art blows her away

  • @rfranklinw1 In your dreams! Anyway, if it wasn't for Cher, I would've never heard of him :p

  • This is impressive!!!!!! Cher and Art sound great together, and I didn't realize how young Jimmy Webb is!!!!

  • really beautiful.

  • Two remarkable voices, excellent in their own right. Together they are TOTALLY mismatched.

  • @dedeurs

You'd prefer Paul Simon and Sonny Bono?

  • @WrestlingHeretic

LOL, no, Sonny was the worst singer in American history. He should have teamed up with Tiny Tim or Mrs Miller.

  • @dedeurs Easy there. Don't go disrespecting Mrs. Miller. La Miller was one fine vocalist - perhaps the best singer of the last century. LOL.

  • One of the few times we actually get to see Art sing -- what a treat! And Jimmy Webb playing his own -- well, it doesn't get any better than this!

  • @unprose Forget Cher LOL! But honestly, Art and Jimmy Webb together is totally PRICELESS!! I'm a fan of Jimmy's songs, heard and listened to most of them in my younger days. I keep his solo album recorded and released quite recently, close to my heart. I could listen to 'Wichita Lineman' all day long with him singing and his piano playing is just remarkable!! Btw. this video is a real treat! Thanks - from a fan in the Philippines.

  • @tuberobotto --- lol ---- I didn't forget Cher in my comment -- I don't especially like her in this medley. Her voice is too coarse for my ears for these songs and grates against the sweetness of the piano and Art's voice.

  • the harmonies are amazing and the songwriting incredible....all geniuses

  • Cool way to shine the light on a songwriter's name with two instantly recognizable singers. Comedy-variety is very much missed, I think, but every time somebody tries it now, it falls short and flat. Nobody seems to know how to do it any more. Unfortunately, the opening of this("I love Jimmy Webb more than you do..No I do.") may be a sign of that genre's decline.

  • @fgldnglbs excellent point ! i wonder did they buy their perm solution together in bulk

  • @fgldnglbs gentler more innocent times - we had no telly for many years and then used to hire one for 2 weeks at christmas ! -in this country telly only broadcast from 6 pm til midnight then and we had only one channel. being "cool' and post modern has gotten in the way of innocent exchanges like the one between cher and art though some like lettterman and jonathan ross and michael parkinson still have a gentle atmosphere

  • cool

  • Cher's good. I had no idea.

  • The songs are: All I Know

and Up, Up, And Away (1967 hit for The Fifth Dimension).

  • Too bad someone took off the video with Art and James Taylor singing "I'll do my crying in the rain". Awesome harmonies!

  • Haha, I love how self-indulgent they all are, jokingly of course. No, I love Jimmy Webb more. No, I love Jimmy Webb more! Meanwhile, Jimmy Webb is just serenely playing to himself.

  • for those who LIKE Christmas music, and LIKE Art Garfunkel, you will LOVE "the Animal's Christmas" with Amy Grant

    - composed by Jimmy Webb

  • EVERYBODY who sings with Art Garfunkel seems to be singing low lol

  • Cher seems to be singing too low .. not sure of the reason. Maybe the two singers are not really obvious duet partners - he with high register, she with lower. Makes melody sharing difficult!

  • absolutely lovely

  • Jimmy Webb in real life is one cool dude! .....Toker Smoker!

  • kk tards, lets get a lil' perspective. find someone with whom Art doesnt sound fantastically brilliant and i'll hang my head in shame... and then chop it off awkwardly with my left hand :) oh yeah... ART RULES !!

  • Many years ago I saw Jimmy Webb, Rory Emerald, and Paul Williams having dinner in Beverly Hills. Chèr and Art Garfunkel are awesome together.

  • Cher has a deeper voice than Art Garfunkel.

  • Tweety Pie has a deeper voice than Art Garfunkel.

  • He has a light, heart-wrenching tenor. It's a gift - I'm grateful he shares it.

  • Absolutely he does, loved the stuff that Paul Simon wrote for him, "Only Living Boy In New York" gives me goose bumps to this day. Like Cher he has something of a unique voice, that you recognise in seconds and I forgave him years ago for the Watership Down thing, and making Tweety Pie sound all grown up isn't a criticism.

  • @PeaceColeman

    So what's your point? mg

  • That it's not only Cher that has a deeper voice than Garfunkel. Everyone does, except people like Mika who sound strained and distorted unlike Art.

  • Wow.. they do sound good together. Neat clip. I like Cher's big hair!

  • Thanks a lot, that was very special. I saw S&G in Sydney a few weeks ago - simply outstanding. For some reason though I feel a little sad watching this as Art looks so young. Jimmy plays at a little club in my home town Canberra once every couple of years or so - that is just brilliant as well. Thanks again!

  • Spectacular! Thanks

  • I think Art Garfunkel can sing beautiful harmonies with anyone!

  • absolute gold many thanks

  • Art Garfunkel's soaring voice is tailor-made for Jimmy Webb's songs!!

  • Wow! Who would have thought...

  • I love cher's look when she sings "when the singer's gone, let the song go on" at 1:10. I wish I could find the full version of this which included Galveston when originally aired.

  • Many years ago I saw Jimmy Webb with Rory Emerald at Club 33 in Disneyland. Cher and Art Garfunkel sound good together. Wonderful video.

  • This clip is delightful! I saw Jimmy Webb last night in New York City at the Cutting Room. After waiting 30 years to see him, sitting six feet away, he played piano beautifully and he sang with a rare vulnerability and poignancy many of his hits. I travelled from Washington DC to see him and it was more than worth it.

  • jADORE CETTE CHANSON

  • OOOohhhh..I love this!..awesome!

  • thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a Great clip! Thank you! :)

  • First!
