Most car salesmen just want to move a car,bsell it regardless of how much money they make I sell about 15 cars a month I have never received a bad survey and I go out of my way to help people out. True story I had a customer willing to pay 6998 for a used car, I told him we have it on the internet for 4998! Why? Because he has 4 kids and I like to sleep at night. Quit generalizing, you must be racist and think all black people are ghetto! Grow up

Yes!!! iv tried it i didn't think anyone knew about this because i never did until my cousin purchased her first car through them!!!!I know taht its free so its worth a shot but its pretty convenient i think especially if you dnt want to go to a whole bunch of dealerships you can just have them come to you

I agree with many points, with the exception of bringing a lunch when negotiating, I think there are better ways than wasting time at a dealership. LOVE, "you wouldn't stock up on candy at the movie theater to go home."

This is all good advice. I would add, "BE NICE to your salesperson." That doesn't mean bend over and get screwed, it means treat them like a human being, and if they don't treat you the same way, leave.

gadawg440: Nice try. My father was a used car salesman and quit after two weeks because of the bullshit and scams they were telling him he had to pull. My best friend made it for three months before he just couldn't sleep with himself at night. Car salesmen are sleezy scam artists. "Good" ones have no conscience. There's no point in trying to play the "we're just doing our job" card here. Not when your job is to try and sell something for as much as you can get, not what it's worth.

My dad sells cars at Plymouth Dodge...and seeing me and my friends have bought multiple cars from there, we haven't had any problems. My dad says he would quit if he had to put up with any scamming shit, so I guess he hasn't.

You spend tons of money at walmart every year and dont even think about how much they make off you. Car salesman and here to help you and not screw you. Remember you are helping them too but they are also providing you a service. And about the trade, it costs money to recondition a trade to put it on the lot to sell, and of course we are going to make money off of it because i dont think anyone at our dealership works for free.

ok..Well for starters buying a car isnt like buying a tv. Car dealerships dont have price match plus. We treat everyone great with a great attitude and put our best foot forward. If you try to call around to get the best price it will prob just piss a bunch of people off. I mean how would you feel if i came into where you work and demanded that you sell me something for how much that you paid for it. We have to make a living too.

@gadawg440 Yep, calling around for a "best price" only works if you know what you're talking about. You will almost never get an apples to apples comparison over the phone unless you're smart enough to compare in your head. But what customers can handle that?

You can do all this in 2-3hrs, if you do it at the end of the month, email every dealer, ask for their bottom line out the door price, and aren't too picky about options on the vehicle.

Also, if you can get 0% from a dealer, why pay 4-5% to a bank?
