  • 2:22 Is someone fapping into the microphone?

  • Personally, I believe that the Oscar belonged to John Hurt. Such a brilliant and underrated actor, but I loved his happy response when the winner was announced. If you haven't yet seen The Elephant Man, watch it. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

  • Everyone looked so young back then!

  • It mustve sucked to be Robert Duvall when she was like "the winner is Robert D...eNiro" lol

  • "and i wanna thank my mother and father for having me"

He deserves another award for that line

  • my favorite actor of all time...

  • he shud have won on taxi driver too, fuck silvestre stalone

  • @wtfownage666 wtf!!?? Sly didnt won!!! Peter Finch won for Network, a hell of a performance!

  • @wtfownage666 silvester didnt won it...

  • nora?

  • Jesus, look at the competition! De Niro totally deserved it, one of the greatest performances ever put on screen. But look at all the tremendous actors who all gave electrifying performances and all happen to be some of the all time greatest... now look at the shit we have today. George Clooney? Seriously? And Over the top DiCaprio? Ridiculous. Acting isn't an "art form" anymore.

  • @GazmoSin1960s, I loved John Hurt in The Elephant Man.

  • Soì his parents are siblings?

  • Marty Scorsese looks exactly like Daniel Day Lewis=D

  • @morningwood1985 thats right !!:D

  • Scorsese must have breathed a huge sigh of relief. This award definitely compensated for the film's modest box office intake.

  • Why does keanu reeves pop into my head when i see him?

  • @stormer07 funny he looks a little like him here

  • @stormer07 In this particular video, I agree. He does remind me of Keanu, especially his profile pose.

  • he is so hot

  • Very deserving of the award; actually he should've won at least a couple more for all the great movies he's done in his career. With that being said, one could argue he's not even in the top 3 for best Italian actors of all-time. A great actor nonetheless.

  • this is his second best performance after Taxi Driver

  • Miranda Hillard?

  • frantic clapper at 2:26

  • whoever disliked this video is simply stupid and senseless.

  • Greatest actor of all time

  • My god , every name mentioned in this clip is just great. Now Hollywood just seems dort of ..... empty.

  • lol went the wrong way :)

  • Was that Isabella rosellini next to martin?

De Niro looks a bit like Messi from FC Barcelona.

  • MY GOD!! LOOK AT THE NOMINEES!!! Great Santini, Elephant man, HOLY MACKEREL!!!! That's INSANE!! If Santini came out a year later, Duvall would have had it. Raging Bull is NUTS...

  • Yay! He definitely deserved this :)

  • i wanna say first and foremost that these dumb guidos are hardly actors. i am sick o people calling the "actors" for having stupid accents and playing dumb guid roles. anyone coulda played rocky, any fuckin mexican coulda played tony montona. fuck these for thinkin there good

  • @brownfm19 Rarely are popular actors real professionals, but 'best' and 'most popular' quite too often get confused when it comes to awards.

  • @brownfm19 Yes, because all there is to acting is the accent.

  • @brownfm19 who the fuck are you to talk shit about italians

  • @brownfm19 just shut up

  • i wanna say first and foremost that these dumb guidos are hardly actors. i am sick o people calling the "actors" or having stupid accents and playing dumb guid roles. anyone coulda played rocky, any fuckin mexican coulda played tony montona. fuck these for thinkin there good

  • Ive always wanted to have a conversation with DeNiro

  • I Felt that when Robert was talking, he never comes out of character from any of the roles he playes in movies like "Sam from Ronin" awesome actor!

  • what a lineup for that award! Wish we had such talent now.

  • @Vidinotes Agreed, that was a fine list of actors.

I can't say I'm not unsatisfied with the actors we have now though, Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman all fit their niches very well. Still De Niro tops them all IMHO

  • Sally Fields was hot.

  • I really want to see this movie! Can anyone direct me to a site so I can see? but it must be dubbed or subtitled. Now, thanks!

  • I really want to see this movie! Can someone show me what site I see subtitled or dubbed? From already, thank you!

  • is that Isabella Rossellini with Martin Scorcese.

  • @Starkardur --- yes- they used to be married, years ago. But who is that w/ De Niro? His ex-wife, Diahnne Abbot?

  • @1lricardo nope his stepdaughter Drena

  • GOOD GOT ALMIGHTY!! ROBERT DENIRO WAS SOO FREAKING HOT BACK THEN WOWW!!

  • No one else could have played LaMotta so well! He deserved it! De Niro is defintely in the list of 10 best actors of all time! I also think Raging Bull should have won Best Picture!

  • Kind of reminds me of Colin Farrell

  • who is the actress at 2.30 ..got my head spinning..and dnt seem to remember..

  • You bother me about a steak!?

  • You bother me about a steak!?

  • John Hurt kind of deserved to win over De Niro.

  • @Starkardur That's a pretty interesting statement. Any particular reason you feel that way? I think De Niro's performance in Raging Bull was the best of the 1980s.

  • best movie he deserve it

    legend

  • Damn......Sally Field was smokin hot!!

  • Damn......Sally Field was FUCKIN HOT back in the day!!!!!

  • DeNiro gave one hell of a performance in that movie. Totally deserved.

  • The Deer Hunter made me fall in love with this guy's craft. He is a true genius.

  • four girls said i sound like robert de niro ah lets go!

  • De Niro is the daddy!!!

  • Al Pacino is the greatest living actor today but Robert is a fine fine second.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 Yeah thats why Al is stuck doing such fine movies as Jack and Jill these days.

  • De Niro's movies over the last 10 years, with some exceptions, have not been all that great BUT it seems like he's going to return to form with some of his upcoming work like Red Lights, Being Flynn and Lombardi.

  • "i love everyone", almost goes down the stairs and still makes it like a champ.

  • Marty wants some coke and heroin. That's why he looks pissed

  • ''That's entertainment."

  • why did joey lamotta sue them?

  • back when acting had class. now all we have are little kids like harry potter, taylor lautner who dont give a two shit about the movies they make only the fame and money, and we hail them as something bigger than life. people have to remember what acting is really about! robert de niro epitomizes what being an actor means

  • @crazymuthaphukr at least today, we still have actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Franco (127 Hours), Andrew Garfield, among other great actors. So it's not so bad.

  • @twotonguestalking7seriously?

  • @crazymuthaphukr We still have great actor working today,

  • @elafaille

Yes great performance and great movie. I just prefer this one, De Niro buried himself in the role.

  • i want to ball sallyfield!

  • i am glad he got this oscar, i liked him better in scent of a woman

  • @rosine101 Al Pacino was in scent of a woman ;)

  • The Godfather II, Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Raging Bull, Once Upon a Time in America, Untouchables, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle. Wut.

  • Holy dogshit De Niro did an electrifying performance. This is hands down the best performance i have ever seen by any actor.

  • Robert Duval almost got up when he heard the name 'Robert' and sad face :( when he heard 'DiNiro'

  • pacino is definitely better than deniro (in terms of acting as well as popularity).

  • @Ranjitvaidya why do you bother looking for videos with "Robert DeNiro"? At least DeNiro is versatile in films, unlike Pacino, who in my opinion, has only been playing the same roaring character for over 30 years or so in most of his films. Sure DeNiro had his bad moments *cough*the last ten years weren't his best, I admit*cough* but if you think about it, Bobby at his best is better than Al at his best, and I admire Pacino a lot, but his acting just doesn't convince enough comparing to DeNiro's

  • @Dragsteryourself Are you a moron? Goodfellas,Godfather, casino hell even in meet the parents he is always in the mafia or some organization. Pacino went to cuba to learn the role to do scarface, he has played in any given sunday as a alcoholic coach, he played as a blind man which won him an oscar, played as Jack Kivorkian or however it is spelt. and also played as an outcast who robs a bank in dog day afternoon. Your facts make no sense, Pacino is the greatest behind marlon Brando, he takes on

  • @Vitali97

In Raging Bull: Angry boxer. In Taxi Driver: Depressed and lonely taxi driver. In The King of Comedy: Psycho-obsessed comedian. In The Deer Hunter: Soldier. In Sleepers: Priest. In Wag the dog: Spin-doctor. In Awakenings: A catonic patient.

These roles are not different you say?

  • @Vitali97 Robert De Niro probably has the most diverse career of any actor. From a low-level self sabotaging crook in Mean Streets, a dying baseball player that same year, going to Sicily to research and recreate a role BRANDO already made the blueprint for in GF2, playing a mentally unstable war veteran, a violent jealous, depressed boxer in Raging Bull, an aspiring comic who kidnaps a talk show host...

  • @Ranjitvaidya

popularity doesn't mean shit- an astounding number of people have never heard of Daniel Day Lewis, and he's one of the worlds greatest actors.

Just because someone is like doesn't make them good. A lot of people like Adam Sandler and he's a terrible actor.

And Pacino's brilliant, but nowhere near as versatile as De Niro.

  • @RDprodx

Gary Oldman is twice as versatile as De Niro, is he a necessarily a better actor? No. I agree though that De Niro is more skilled than Pacino.

  • @RDprodx what the hell are you talking about. besides meet the parents and cape fear, he has played a mafia type role in every single thing, he is good at being a bad guy, but pacino should have won an oscar for Scarface, both Godfathers and serpico. Pacino is far more skilled as an actor, You have to realise the cast that deniro always has around him too. Deniro is great but Brando said himself that Al Pacino is the greatest thing he has seen. I completely disagree, you should watch pacino's

  • @Vitali97 Apparently you've never seen The Mission, Deer Hunter, The Last Tycoon, Taxi Driver, The Fan, etc.....Mafia character every time? Gimme a Break

  • @Vitali97 Sorry, but no. I view Pacino and De Niro as equals, but not all of Robert De Niro's roles are mafia types: Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Limitless, Meet The Parents, The King of Comedy, Awakenings, Midnight Run, A Bronx Tale and those are just the ones I've seen. I know for a fact there are more.

  • Man... what a line up, all of them great actors.

  • Marty had the most epic beard!

  • absolutely one of the best films ever , u are an icon bobby

  • the greatest an so hot right there.X

  • Haha. Look at Scorsese. He's just like, "Yeah, keep clapping, you know you like it".

  • @QUHectic212 someone's black lol

  • GO BOBBY!!!! Hey guys check out my >>SKETCH COMEDY CHANNEL<<

  • 4:04 Observe one of the best directors of all time, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Casino, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, the list goes on and on along with Robert De Niro one of the top best actors in the last 40 yrs. It's a shame he turned to Comedy, I miss him and Joe Pesci together.

  • @DonRMB also for Chaplin

  • is it me or does he kind of looks like keanu reeves

  • It's a shame Deniro and hurt were nominated in the same year . . . . in any other year, Hurt would have won,

  • OK.....Watch this video, and then watch Al Pacino's acceptance speech for his Oscar in "Scent of a Woman"....

De Niro and Pacino look EXACTLY IDENTICAL....

Its actually, spooky, they look EXACTLY the same in the acceptance speeches.

  • killer elite.. lol

  • he thanked BRUNO lol

  • I was beginning to lose faith in DeNiro's script choices of late, then I saw his performance in "Everybody's Fine"--and it brought tears to my eyes. The Robert DeNiro in that film--elderly and mellowed with age--is the one who turned in this Oscar-winning performance in "Raging Bull".

  • These guys are zero without a script.

  • @Kratoschaos Little Fockers was a great and funny comedy, I enjoyed it very much. What's so bad abut it?

  • I love his acting, but he's made a lot of stinkers in recent years.

  • He completely deserved it.

  • Robert De Niro is one of the greatest movie actors ever

  • Robert Duvall doesn't look too happy.

  • Who is the woman sitting next to Scorsese at 2:30?

  • @MrRazorblade999 That is Isabella Rossellini. She was married to Scorcese.

  • Comment removed

  • In memory of Robert DeNiro, 1943-2011, RIP. Killed on the set of his movie by

    a jealous ex-wife.....lol

  • someone is jerking off at 2:24 - 2:31 lol

  • Why did it take so long for Scorcese to win an Oscar?

  • I can't argue one of the greatest performances in movie history...but Jesus, what competition. Acting ain't what is used to be.

  • De Niro is the best actor of our generation

  • 1- al

    2- di niro

  • 1 - BRANDO

    2 - ROBERT

    3 - AL

    4 - JACK

Should get an Oscar every Year... Just Outta Respect.

  • @DonRMB No Olivier? No Day-Lewis? No Stallone?

  • @MarkChapeau stallone? are you kidding? :D

  • @ShawniBawni Maybe not Sylvester but his brother Frank Stallone was one of the best.

  • @MarkChapeau

Olivier -yes (even though i have never seen a movie with him in it) , Day-Lewis-ok , Stallone-no, First Blood is by far his best performance, he's good, but not in the league of these other guys.

  • @DonRMB 1. Washington 2. Poitier 3. Freeman 4. Cheadle

  • @QUHectic212 If you wanna promote afro americans in movies you gotta but Samuel Jackson and Forest Whitaker in that list. Don Cheadle and denzel washington are not in the league of al pacino robert de niro and so...

But thumbs up for the mobb deep reference in the nick ;)

  • @DonRMB Yeah but Brando had no want or need for Oscars.

  • omg, so many great actors and movies face to face D:

  • Why robert becomes take silllllllllly roles lately!!!did he forget that he's the Raging Ball, the Godfather,a member of the Goodfellas!!!WTF!!

  • @thedeparted1991 hes gotten older and plus the movies of this era suck as opposed to the 70's and 80's

  • @vadimzdonutube 70s, yes. Best era in film. 80s, ehhh. The 80s were the end of the New Hollywood era and the beginning of sequel-mania and the takeover of blockbusters.

  • @FetaCheese222 2000 *points a gun to his head*

  • @FetaCheese222 not to mention, pointless remakes, cgi and shitty dialogue

  • de niro legend.

  • we love you too

  • Raging Bull, excellent movie, Robert Deniro, outstanding actor ....wow I never realized it went up against The Great Santini. Robert Duval another one of my favorite actors, Clint Eastwood and you have my top three. The Great Santini dam! That's one of my favorite movies of all time. It would have been very tough to make a choice. I was 15 years old when those Oscars were being awarded. Didn't pay too much attention to this stuff then. I believe The Great Santini won Best Picture.

  • The Snitch Bastard Is A Mob Owned Degenerate. If It Wasn't For The Fact That The Mob Financed His Acting Lessons And Promotes His Career And That He Was Stanley Kubrick's Girlfriend for 35 Years, This Idiot Savant Would Be A Former NYC Garbage Collector On Disability And Living In A Welfare Hotel! Fuck Deniro! Pee Wee Herman Is A Better Actor Than He Is!

  • 1:58 Duvall looked like "AINT THIS A BITCH?" lol

  • Please don't tell me that Anthony Hopkins wasn't even nominated! John Hurt, yeah, he deserved it, but so did Hopkins. I'm of course talking about Elephant Man.

  • @very95ape Hopkins was never fully appreciated by Hollywood until "Silence of the Lambs"; then they started nominating him for everything. He gave a beautiful performance in "Elephant Man" (Tim Hutton got his spot in the nominations, IMO).

  • Sally Field's dress is gorgeous! One of the rare Oscar dresses from the 80s that could be worn today without looking ridiculous. lol!

  • Sally Field hot piece of ass

  • Even in 2011, he is the sexiest man alive for me!!!!

  • Sally Field sucked at presenting. It's not The Raging Bull, dummy!

  • Would suck for Robert Duvall when Sally first read out "Robert", he would have thought it was him at first! :/

  • @nicolecreature especially since their surnames both start with d's :P

  • What an amazing year of cinema.

  • he looks like Keanu Reeves..dont u guys noticed?

  • THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE IN THE HISTORY OF CINEMA.

  • They are all winners, every actor in this category is a legend. God Bless them

  • DeNiro in Raging Bull is the greatest acting performance of all time if you ask me.

  • @bubba106 i agree that and travis bickle unbelievable acting!

  • @bubba106 Two Thumbs Up !! I agree

  • Is Jake La Motta still alive?

  • @dbmrhi According to wikipedia, he's still alive. :)

  • another tough line -up. hurt all the way

  • wow, that was a heavyweight group of nominees.

  • 2:29 man scorcese had one hell of a beard there! lol

  • Its Forrest Gumps momma!

  • respect

  • He was good, and he is Still good. It's not a shame or whatever people say here. Isn't the man allowed too do what he wants? He wants too do freaking commercial comedys. Because he enjoys it. An yes, for the money too. Why not? You cannot be non-stop, at the top of your game for 40 years in a row. He did some amazing stuff, and I still think he is one of the best

  • @yvanny54 It might be that he has a family, that he doesn't want to go out and drive taxis or live in Italy to prepare for roles as well.

  • Duvall is an amazing actor but imagine that choice - Hurt, O'toole, Lemon, Duvall and Deniro. Shizer!

  • i love you de niro.

  • DeNiro is the boss

  • Robert DeNiro is without a doubt in MY opinion the best actor there has been. All of his performences have always left a great impression on me. Along with raging bull I absolutely love him in ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA. If you guys have not seen it, it should most deff be added to must see movies. Great underated masterpiece. Its pretty long but so are the godfather movies and in my opinion I love raging bull and once upon a time much better.

  • The good ole days when De Niro wouldn't take any part that gave him a big fat paycheck.

  • He was so very, very handsome back then. Still is.

  • DeNiro is the man.

  • 30 years later his voice still hasn't changed.

  • Peter never won :/

  • 88 high school fans...
