My brother-in-law, James, is from there and always takes my daughter with him for the Pony Penning. I would love to go one day. I think horses are the most beautiful, majestic creatures in the world and I have much respect for them. My daughter says it's the highlight of her summer to see the ponies swim across to the mainland.
I only saw the pony swim once ... but grew up reading Marguerite Henry's books. She lived very near me, in Wayne, IL. (I grew up in West Dundee, IL, just up the road a piece!)
I have never even met a chincoteague (gosh cant spell :P) pony, but I want one so bad! I wish I could go see the round up! I actually have helped train a QH to ride, and I am interested in geting Wild-caught mustangs and chincoteagues!
