Another Dutch one that could have made it was Cruijff's deft chip against the Belgians in 1976. Search for video entitled "9 best goals of history Euro", it's on that one. It's a much better chip than Suker's admittedly great one and Poborsky's frankly overrated one.

Interesting that two of these goals were scored against one of the greatest goalkeepers ever - Rinat Dassayev of the USSR. Obviously Van Basten's is #1, but look at the first replay of Whelan's goal - insane improvised skill
