They did not get the plot for this out of "Baby and child care" by Dr. Benjamin Spock (no, not from the "Star Trek"). This looks very promising right off the bat, try putting it on in the U.S., well, maybe not, kinda too advanced... Has this been recorded?...the music holds up way better than Shostakovich' "Lady...".
Like Carter he seems to have given a bit of a neo-classical polish to Varese, but emphasised different aspects of the Frenchman than E.C. I admire what he has accomplished.
Why are there disable comments and ratings on some other Harrison Britwistle stuff? Is he scared that people might say that its shit? Or maybe people could say that this kind of music is really random and does not serve any purpose whatsoever. Its like free jazz. Expression of yourself is a great thing.
Doesnt mean that other people should witness that though. I like expressing myself by wanking off for example. What IS the point of this music??? Please someone reply!!! Thank you.
the point is many people rotate between opiates, tranquilizers, stimulants, and hallucinagens and this is the soundtrack to that lifestyle. you and i are just far too square, heh heh.
Dim the lights, put on some Birtwistle and read H.P. Lovecraft... That's an experience!

Yup. Jealousy.

Well, Britten would have liked the part from :43 to :50... Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Britten did no such thing. I know for a fact (from people who were at the first performance) that that never happened, it's a myth.

Britten absolutely refused to pay for the choc-ices during the interval. The fucker.
