Ace Hall was not the bass player in The Squires at the time of this tune. It was Napoleon "Hank" Anderson and he wrote this tune. Hank is pictured playing bass on the live photo you've got up second. Hank is a friend of mine and lives near Boston.
this is neither from Curtis Knight period and Jimi himself nor. That's a fake recording by certain Lonnie Youngblood - a gifted gambler...only God knows what his real mane is... - made around 1980. That dude was sued and lost because that joke some years later. Despite that the long playing "Supersession" containg that track - that i bought years ago as an ingenue, cheated young boy - is nice to listen but definitely that's not Jimi Hendrix at all.
@DoubleTrouble412 i have that on the Album Supersession too. It's 100% fake. But well done, so go on listening it and enjoy yourself. There's actually just one album recorded and officially recognized as stuff about Jimi-Kurtis Knight together period: it's "That's a Feeling" (stolen recordings as Jimi said) and it was put on the market when Jimi was still alive. I repeat: the author of that joke - certain Lonnie Joungblood a good musician - was sued for that and lost.
Yeah, bud...This session is before Curtis Knight and the Squires. This is Jimi's very first recorded studio Jam 1961 with Lonnie Youngblood. The session is about a double album with all the songs : wipe the sweat (many takes) bessie mae and some others.
@itnow yeah he has. better yet, you can hear it for yourself if you like. just copy and paste "Ace Hall With L. Scala About Marino Frost And Jimi Hendrix" in the youtube search bar
@EXIGU0US It was authentic information thx (I wondered whether u were pulling our legs with this 'Ace Hall' name which must have been hard to carry for ur grandpa...)
@itnow Your welcome. i know when he travels, he actually keep a picture similar to the one we see in the video. Its something he's really proud of. Hell, who wouldn't be lol.
this is before he joined Curtis Knight's band. The guy singing is Lonnie Youngblood
