The remix is great!

I just wanted to say something about my experience with the game..

I bought the 'remake' which is basically a port of the SNES version on the DS, and I did not get into it ,even though I am a fan of JRPGs..

Some of the characters were interesting, but the story wasn't as overwhelming as people portrayed it to be. Its not bad by any means, I just believe that nostalgia (again) is one of the factors that make Chrono Trigger and other games from that era that make it 'great'.

@TheNibiro It's interesting to finally see someone who actually sees it in a different way. The nostalgia doesn't mean anything to me when I say that it is one of the greatest games ever. I didn't play it until 3 years back, and didn't get into it. Then I played it again and really saw all these contributed emotions put into the game. I'd advice you to rid your mind, and when that has happened, play it through once more. It'd be interesting to see how you react(if you react in the same way I did

@subeards As stupid as that may sound, after writing this review I played the game again (since on my first 'playthrough' I didn't get farther than *spoiler* the moment when you get the Chrono Trigger) and I must say that I actually got into it now...

I am on the same scene, but with a totally different opinion.

It is magical in a way that few games are, which makes it hard to describe =/

I am so sure that a fully funded and well marketed Chrono Trigger remake would be a huge hit for Square Enix - even larger than FFXIII could ever hope to be (it only sold so much on its forced hype and being of the FF pedigree imo - fans coming to jump ship now).

Ah well, they can do what they want. I just expect to find out about some big financial troubles by 2-3 years from now.

@vekl The creators of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross had drastically different perspectives on how to go about the project. Thus you'll never see the two together, nor will Square ever give us that- they need boths' permission and can't get it. =(

This is now my favourite Chrono Trigger Remix. I do like the jazz mix. Hope to find more jazz remixes with the other games, especially Final Fantasy =D
