  • you white mother fucker's are a trip !!! full of shit !!!!

  • @rodneyreal38 how's that?

  • I think by being in this video Chris just insured no one is going anywhere near his house

  • Hearing loss can be a bitch later on in life. These guys are thinking ahead.

  • @shootcentermass Lots of older guys tell me that, Grandpa tells me about navy days shooting rifles, pistols, running loud tools and AA guns all with out hearing protection. He tells me I don't need hearing protection and calls me a pussy for wearing it anyways , while at the same time he tells me that he's wearing hearing aids. Funny ain't it?

    Just saying.

  • that guy on the left, you wouldn't wanna fuck with,he's the guy in the famous "Blackwater snipers in iraq"

  • Im new to the gun world and am def behind in this world. Having said that, I thought suppressors/silencers were illegal. Also, is there a difference between them or just different names for the same thing? What would one need to do to own one legally? Thanks.

  • @mohmog33

Suppressors are not illegal (in the U.S.), but you do need to pay a $200 tax stamp and submit to a background check.

Suppressors/silencers are the same, even though it's technically not a silencer since it only suppresses the noise. The correct way is to say suppressor, as "silencer" was a brand name by Maxim who built the very first suppressor.

If you want to know more about owning suppressors, try checking out some dedicated Class III/NFA forums, like AR15[dot]com.

  • @Anderasio Sweet....thanks for the response. One more question: what is a tax stamp? I think I know what it is but just to be safe....thanks again.

  • @mohmog33

It is quite literally what it says: a stamp, not for postage, but for taxation.

The reason for this is that the initial law that regulated machineguns, suppressors, etc. came about in 1934 (National Firearms Act of 1934, AKA NFA).

It just made sense at the time.

Do a google image search for "tax stamp nfa", the 3rd picture should be what it looks like.

Also note that the tax has always been $200. Back in the day this was quite a fortune.

  • @Anderasio are they generic or specific? is there a certain type I would ned for a sig p226?

  • @mohmog33

If you're talking about tax stamps you need a $200 transfer stamp, in order to transfer the suppressor from a dealer to you.

If you're talking about the different suppressors, you just need one with a similar caliber and thread type as your gun has.

  • @mohmog33 hey bro. i will point out that the suppressor shown on the vid, is the AAC Ti-Rant 9mm. As Chris said it is the bomb. I own severall AAC suppressors and they are very good. There is a new AAC series of suppressors on the market the Ti_rant 9s and Ti_Rant 45s. They are good for taking appart and cleaning. I do have some videos of me using some of my suppressors. If you want I will send you the links.

  • @gunman5945 that'd be great...thanks!

  • @shootcentermass true true. But it is different from people to people. Some can feel their hear loss only after 2-5 years. About the effects on anyone sleeping I don't know, but people probably checks their family first if they sense someone breaking in.

  • @shootcentermass Doesn't mean your ear drums won't vibrate the shit out of your ears if a gun goes off in a hallway.

  • That poor son of a bitch that breaks into Costa's house.

  • you get what you pay for!

  • I just started carrying critical defense for my .45ACP 1911. What I do is buy two boxes of 20 (at $30 a box, like they mentioned), and I fire off a whole box to see how reliable it is in that specific pistol. If you're worried about the price, then ask this question: "How much is your life worth to you?" Of course, the answer is pretty simple...

  • I have about 30 rounds of original Black Talon ammo. I don't shoot it, I just have it to scare my liberal friends.

  • @iLikeToitools Liberal here. Black Talons suck. Bigger fan of Gold Dots for my daily carry (1911 .45ACP)

  • @Voimakas I know they do.

I like to bring some of the much less sensible members of your party (I'm in college, so I've got quite a few friends who are against guns, often very much so) to the gun range and try to dispel some of the bull**** they've been told.

You would be surprised by some of the magical properties they seem to think these have.

"Armor piercing", "most deadly bullet ever made", or my personal favorite "explodes on impact".

  • @iLikeToitools Oh, I know. I'm not a fan of grabbers on either side (like Ronnie Reagan.) Though you have to admit, it looks like the Dems are FINALLY realizing that gun control is a loser (for the most part.)

  • Who in there right mind would break into this guys house?

  • I wish I could afford a suppressor. Lost most of my hearing in a live fire exercise, not even damn combat!

  • The children of Chris Costa came out of the womb with a carbine and 7 pmags in hand

  • @edward0 Hell, his children came out of the womb with a full-on Chris Costa tactical beard!!!

  • @edward0 you forgot that they are born with a full beard

  • he does not know how much hornady charges for ammo because someone else buys his ammo i hate the rich

  • Who on earth would break into Chris Costa's house?

  • @diderr01 me

    With a tank.

  • @diderr01 maybe if they wanted to commit suicide or just stupid people

  • When choosing ammo for home defense isnt it important that it is the type that will break apart(forgot actual term) on impact so incase you live very close to other houses it wont accidently go through and hits a innocent victim?

  • lol... who the hell is the guy on the left and why is he in this video?

  • @lexmark136 That would be Travis Haley CEO Magpul Industries Corp.

Travis Haley is a veteran Force Reconnaissance Marine with 14 years of dedicated real world experience including; combat tours in the Balkans, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa.

  • @CdayPA He might have experience but the 3 words he does speak doesn't add anything constructive to the video. Kinda looks like a dumb blonde just put on set to draw the eyes away from the ugly bearded dude.lol

  • I had a 9mm fire, and the round drop on my leg right out of the barrel. Thats some scary ammunition.

  • Who does the music for Magpul, its awesome and thought provoking.

  • Chris Costa's beard is bullet proof

  • @luBaihun

What he means by "run through your gun" is he wants you to shoot it and see if your ammo can be reliably fired through you weapon system without failure to feed or any other malfunctions. So fill up you magazine with the expensive stuff and fire about 20 rounds to make sure that it is reliable. For example: In my experience 147 grain federal premium hydra shoks do not reliably run through a Kel-Tec P11. A different Ammunition selection is advised at that point.

  • Could anyone clarify what Chris Costa meant by the bit about different types of ammo? I really did not get that part before "the first thing you need to do with ammo is make sure it runs through your gun."

  • @LuBaihu

"Homegrown" ammo is basically just ammo you've reloaded yourself using reloading tools and dies.

Full Metal Jackets (FMJ) are your standard type of ammo bought from major ammo manufacturers, these are great for training because they're relatively cheap.

Defensive ammo is mostly jacketed hollow points (JHP), this ammo might be a little more expensive, but they'll have better ballistics in a self defense situation.

  • @Anderasio I'd previously heard of said reloaded rounds as... well, reloaded or handloaded. :) Wasn't familiar with "defensive ammo" or "homegrown" ammo in those contexts, so thanks for clearing that up. The suppressor portion was clear to understand, but the ammo bit was hard to follow.

  • @LuBaihu

He's referring to the fact that different types of ammo manufacturers use different primers, meaning that the amount of force required for the ammo to actually go off is going to vary with different types of ammunition. Ergo, just because the ammunition is the proper caliber doesn't mean it's going to fire.

In a nutshell, don't keep your gun loaded with ammo that you haven't tested at the range yet, lest you need to draw your weapon only to find that it won't fire.

  • @LuBaihu

I think what you are asking is what he actually means by "make sure it runs through your gun" Some ammo, does not shoot well "run well' through different weapons. Make sure you use ammo that cycles well in your gun.

  • @LuBaihu This means that whatever ammo you intend to use in your gun, you need to test it in YOUR gun. Not an identical gun of the same make, YOUR gun. I have a glock 17, that doesn't mean that MY glock 17 will funcution reliably on the same ammo that your glock 17 does. Test your ammo in your gun so you know for certain it works BEFORE you need it.

  • @LuBaihu

Some ammo and some guns are picky and don't run well together. Most modern firearms will run most types of ammo including +p. Older designs, the most notorious known would by the 1911 is picky with JHP because it was designed to feed ball ammo. It's a good idea to test the load you plan on using in defensive situation just to make sure it runs through your gun properly, make sure it doesn't cause your gun to fail to feed, or fail to extract your defensive round.

  • anyone knows where the hell could i get the songs these guys have on their vid´s ?????

  • I just wish suppressors weren't so expensive and hard to get.

  • @CrystalHunter1989 yah its a ridiculous process we should be allowed to just buy them!! laws in this country r a joke!!

  • No Costa was not Pararescue. It was likely a gimme hat fromwhen the group or an individual operator received training through Magpul. This happens pretty regularly, where the trainers end up with all kinds of swag from the units they train or in some cases vice versa, I still have lots of stuff various units gave me when training there

  • 0:45 Costa wearing a AF Pararescue hat... was he a PJ?

  • MESSAGE TO ALL GUN GRABBERS: No one would ever break into Chris Costa's home. That's for damn sure.

  • @MadHatter34784 who knows.. nobody know where they live either.. lol. But i bet his home got camrea and good safe lock there is no way you can take their gun either.. I am not spending 3 k on an ar with accessories and leave it under my bed or a cheap ass plastic safe lol..

  • You dont need a suppressor on a pistol for home defense because you shouldnt even be using a pistol. shotguns are the best for home defense because a standard 9mm round can go through at least 6 walls and still kill someone, either your family or neighbor. A shotgun on the other hand there probably will be blood but survival is more likely. unless you live in the country with no family or neighbors within miles of you, you dont need a suppressed pistol for home defense.

  • @pdxjason503 a 45 expanding round wont go very far though.

  • @pdxjason503 a subsonic 9mm wont go through more then a single wall, a shotgun on the other hand, will go through said wall and destroy the next on too (atleast a slug would) and a 9mm is definitely not gonna go through an exterior wall and into your neighbors

  • @Hunterc191 9mm rounds will gone through exterior and indoor walls depending on the house.(i use to build them). A wall is basically dry-wall with some 2x4's about a foot away from eachother and plywood. 9mm will most likly get stopped by the 2x4 if it hits it but if it doesnt it will rip right through the plywood and dry wall. A 12 gauge shotgun will go through walls too but the danger is less cause of the small pellets vr. a pistol round. a subsonic 9mm will go through walls just not as many.

  • Nothing like shooting a firearm in the rain.

  • @MusicForTheSoul221 Now all we need is funky jazz music and then it's completely bad-ass.

  • I don't think it's a good idea to use supressors for home defense. If you, for any reason, can't make it to the phone to dial 911 the only thing that will alert your neibours that something strange is going on is the fireshots noise.

  • @medqua

in any situation that could be suspect, if the intruder has a gun they will hear, if you fire first, it doesn't really matter if they hear, because hopefully you have eliminated the threat and if the intruder gets to you before you can actually fire your weapon, or you in a struggle and you fire it but dont kill him, he kills you, or you miss and takes off running, either way he's going to get away. The police don't magically show up at your house instantly because you call them

  • @JJordan0709 No, they don't show magically, but some neighbour might. And if you are in a intense fire fight or a struggle he could help you to kill the intruder.

  • where can i watch this for freE?

  • Nowhere really, just try a torrent.

  • @SwerVQE

    my home.

  • Whats with those side burns .......Travis looks like Don Mattingly
