if you create your own pattern will it erase a preset pattern? and if so can you ever get the original presets back?

Nothing gets overwritten. The Micron's memory is dynamic. You can store as many patterns / rythms and setups as you wish - until your memory runs out.
You can also save and restore any of the data via sysex and a computer.

In case you wonder about the odd sound grouping, my goal was to show many different sides of the micron's sound character.
I just worked off the alphabet skipping presets that were too similar though.
