@pahico To be honest, that's not a better translation in a lot of ways. Sparkling = lustre, radiance. Flickering = frail, tremulous. I'm pretty sure the former was intended. 'Guiding' completely loses the sense of literaral as well as figurative illumination. 'Now rises higher' is just plain wrong, 'beaming sight' sounds very weird, and 'þeirrar' should definitely be 'their', not 'that'. Some lines you have done a lot better, but you've also lost a lot.

Taking the best of both and making a few other changes, I came up with this - not perfect perhaps, but fixes some of the problems.
