FYI pretty much all the superhero's that were in this were really old superhero's from the 50's...of course they were changed slightly to fit the films content, but you know what I mean. Personally I cannot wait for the movie, I understand if they may have to change one or 2 things cause personally I think this novel is very complex and would be extemely hard to get on film, especially with all those text inserts. i heard that too, and it bugs me because it takes away the whole meaning of letting it happen. with attacking THAT cities, it got everyone was feeling for the united states, and russia backed off of their plans for other wars.

if they attack multiple places, it would be less compelling. not the mention you really felt for those folks on the ground. the lesbian cab driver, the news stand guy, and the kid reading the dark freighter (thats been animated btw)

I have read the novel, Its still going to flop big time. Just watch and in a few months you will say I was right. Theres just way better movies coming out at the same time. It's kind of different. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man are all characters that have been published for a long time, and are always getting into new stories and have continuities that go on forever.

Watchmen is pretty much a huge, long, comic that has a beginning, middle, and end, and had the character's stories end with it. So there hasn't been any merchandising of it until now.

It's a great book, you should check it out.

It's good to see they're still doing practical effects in Hollywood and not CG-ing everything. This will help me appreciate the film that much more.
