  • Nice :D

  • @megustatucuchi Thanks for watching!

  • I re watched that spoon flip like 100 times, cant figure out how that happened lol. great video , amazing looking meal, great beer

  • @cptmuska I have no idea how it happened either. Luckily my "cat-like" reflexes saved the day!

  • is this good for a first beer? if not then what would you recommend?

  • @djlawney Modelo is an ok first beer but there are a lot of other beers that are better in my opinion. Try a Sam Adams Boston Lager or a Yuengling. They are both solid, basic beers with some decent flavor but not over the top. Thanks for watching!

  • hey, i got an easier way to make mole. its called "dona maria" and you just have donamaria(dot)com(dot)mx/

  • Great review, good mole, .....the only thing that i don´t agree is that Modelo tastes better than Bohemia, .....but, well is just that maybe I prefer Bohemia....cheers!

  • @Alexdelossantos123 Both Modelo and Bohemia are decent beers. I think I could go either way depending on my mood, etc. Thanks for watching!

  • mole is a pain in the but to make from scratch...nice job great channel.....I'm doing something similar ...only all from scratch...but who has the time for that...I won't be doing mole anytime soon on my channel.........your shortcuts make perfect since

  • @Watchmecooklive Yeah, "real" mole is very time and labor intensive. My shortcut isn't as good but it's close enough in a time-crunched world. Thanks for watching!

  • mole is a pain in the but to make from scratch...nice job great channel.....I'm doing something similar

  • to start off this is by no means a completely authentic mole. A great mole requires almost a days work lots of patience and a comprehensive understanding of flavors and cooking in general. That being said the recipe you provide, though sounding weird, is a very good one. cocao, preferably mexican, is the best kind of chocolate to use for this. And the peanut butter simulates ground toasted sesame seeds, its actually very clever and something I have done in the past with my mole.

  • @JazzYugioh1022 Oh I know this isn't a "true" mole by any means. I wish I had the time to make one (and maybe I'll try sometime) but the reality is that I don't so I came up with something quick that tastes pretty good. The peanut butter and cocao work well together.

  • chocolate yes, but it has to be bars...peanut butter? umm no,its peanuts! oh my and don't even get me started on the hot sauce he put in there....that's not mole, that I call gross

  • @killerbeevalentine Sorry you didn't like the recipe I used. It was tasty though so I guess I'll keep making it.

  • @killerbeevalentine ok Emeril! upload ur recipe in a video responce. ive used his suggestions and it came out great. hes a green egg man not a stove top man 8^).i appreciate the time he saved to fit in a good beer review.

  • chocolate yes, but it has to be bars...peanut butter? umm no,its peanuts!

  • This guy knows how to eat. Mexican beer should go with all meals

  • @BuddenOne Oh, I definitely know how to eat! Mexican beer does go well with many types of food but there are lots of other great beers that match up with food.

  • I bought one of these after I saw your review and have had it chilling in the fridge until today. It does have a better nose than your average macro, and quite session-able. I agree with your three mug review. At 1.69 for 24 oz, its cheaper than a Dr Pepper!! Thanks

  • @MrGregPuckett Some may, and have, disagreed with me on this, but Modelo is a decent beer. Not craft by any means but not crap either. It's better than the average macro and, like you said, very inexpensive.

  • that was vantastice pairing on cinco de mayo chicken mole and modelo I prefer the

juerita than the negra modelo. you had me at pounding the mickeys and now

i realize with out sounding raciest you are a open minded beer drinker-reviewer

  • @SaepeExpertus I'm glad you enjoy the reviews! Keep watching because I have a lot more great beers to review!

  • great video as always.good to see Andre back in action.i thought the tortilla was a napkin. lol 8^)

  • @grapplepin Thanks! Andre is back for the 2010 season, expect to see alot of him this year.

  • Modelo is great for the price, I'd rather have a Modelo than a Corona or a Tecate ! Happy Cinco De Mayo...

  • @BlowMeSlowlyBitch I agree, Modelo isn't agreat beer but it definitely is better than most of the other Mexican beers.

  • im in ga to what part are you in?, btw great review as usual man.

  • @FightingGeese23 I'm in the Atlanta area. Glad you liked the review!

  • @VideoBeerReviews im in the atl area to

  • Really good Mole is one of the most complex and best tasting dishes in Mexican cuisine! I liked the simple version you made, I couldn't do the real thing but you made it look easy. I think its really cool how you review beers and food like this according to holidays

  • @bigpapykane Yeah, I've seen some recipes where there are 30-40 ingredients! Good Mole is awesome. My simple mole tastes pretty good but is nothing compared to an expertly prepared version. Glad you like the reviews!

  • That chicken looks great! I've never tried that beer either... Love the Andre mug! Another great video! Thanks!

  • @hotwaterwrestling The chicken mole is great, even better as leftovers! Modelo is OK, definitely not great, but drinkable.

Andre has been with me for over 25 years, he's my buddy!

  • Man that chicken mole looks delicious. Wish I was a better cook over the stovetop but I can barely make hamburger helper. I can grill a mean steak though :) Happy Cinco De Mayo I got me a pack of Dogfish Head Palo Santo and I'm lovin this stuff!

  • @rcnitrodude999 If you can make a steak, you can make this, it's really easy. Take a look at my blog for the full recipe and try it out!

Palo Santo is a great beer, enjoy!

  • @BEERxxPiRATE Thanks, I'm glad you found my reviews and that you like them! I definitely enjoy making them. There's plenty more to come so stay tuned...

  • I loved the part where your spoon took flight and landed just right in the pot, hahah.

    Hmm...Modelo

I think i've seen that beer floating around in the store I work at. If it's slightly better than a macro, I may pass on it then.

  • @retrohippie Yeah, isn't it amazing how I was able to control the spoon with my mind and make it land in the pot! :-)...I got lucky there.

I wouldn't run out to buy Modelo specifically, but I could drink it again if needed.

  • real peanut butter? jiff isnt real peanut butter?! also, love the king cans because i love that mug

  • @btgebo Oh, it's real peanut butter with a lot of other stuff added to it. I eat it sometimes but for cooking especially, real "real" peanut butter seems to work better.

Look for Andre to make a bunch of appearances here over the Summer. I have a lot of king cans to review!

  • @VideoBeerReviews what should i look for to make sure its "real". maybe its just as simple as looking at the ingredients?

  • @btgebo If the ingredients list anything more than peanuts & salt it's not "real" in my mind.

  • I used supernatural peanut butter instead of the natural once and I made Holy mole.

    p.s. Modelo sucks

  • @CraftBeerDrinker Good one! Try the recipe if you can, it's pretty tasty.

Modelo isn't a craft beer at all, but for what it is it isn't terrible. It definitely won't be in my fridge but I think I'd drink it over some other Mexican beers.

  • "it's not a craft beer but it's not crap either" perfectly sums it up.. the especial is not a bad beer if your next to a pool or playing a round of ( disc) golf in the summer... it is prob my favorite of the macro south of the border style lagers... .p.s. i like all of the cooking videos and i will be trying this recipe in next few days....i don't have a big green egg(yet) so the cooking you do over the stove is about all i have access to try right now....

  • @cpalmer2312 Yeah, Modelo isn't a terrible beer at all. I wouldn't choose it as a regular drinking beer but on a hot day it would do fine. I'm glad you like the food videos. I definitely have fun making them! Get a Big Green Egg if you can, you won't regret it. If you do a fair amount of outdoor cooking, the 'egg will definitely be worth the money spent.

  • the food looks good as always! Unfortunately the beer does not. I also reviewed this with Mexican food (see video response).

what was that machine sound when you were on the porch? someone weed whacking their lawn?

I think you were pretty generous with your rating ;)

  • @Chad9976 The mole is easy to make, give it a try.

I think Modelo is an OK beer. I didn't get as much grain as I thought I would plus there was definitely some malt and a hint of hops. Compared to other Mexican lagers this one is not bad.

The noise you heard was one of the many leaf-blowers that are in the neighborhood. With all these trees there is always "tree crap" falling on everything. It's always a challenge to do an outdoors review without getting some of that noise.

  • @Chad9976 chad, you've never heard a backpack blower before??
