Truman's disastrous presidency had catastrophic consequences for our nation; I rank him as low as Woodrow Wilson, Lyndon B. Johnson, Andrew Johnson, and Herbert Hoover, from whose actions and inactions we are still suffering. How could Truman sit there and defend the Korean War? It established the awful precedent that a President could bypass Congress and invade another country.
@billyguns2 Bush Jr., Reagan,Harding,Coolidge...they were much worse than Truman,Wilson,or LBJ ever were. Thanks for at the very least mentioning Hoover & Andrew Johnson.
@Suprkit You give no reasons why Reagan, Harding, and Coolidge were "much worse than Truman, Wilson, or LBJ." I've already given a reason for Truman; Wilson was a self-righteous racist who segregated the government, imprisoned people for speaking German or criticizing the government, established the Federal Reserve and the IRS, and gave us a ridiculous foreign policy that says the US can invade any country any time it pleases; LBJ gave us the VietNam atrocity and nearly bankrupted the nation.
@billyguns2 Reagan Blew up the deficit and made us a debtor nation for the first time in our history. He also had several cabinet heads go to jail. Harding had corruption in his cabinet that also sent one of them went to prison. Coolidge was a do nothing President. "Conspiracy theory" types always want to make Wilson look like a monster when he wasn't. McKinley made us an empire way before he did. LBJ passed some of the nation's greatest laws, but is short changed because of Vietnam.
@Suprkit I am not a conspiracy theorist type. Anyway, you are spewing what the powers that be want you to believe, that no conspiracies ever existed, which is patent nonsense; anywhere there is a power struggle there is a conspiracy on the part of people who want to attain power. HArding accomplished many great things and had one of the most brilliant cabinets of any president, which did include two stinkers; thank heaven Coolidge did little meddling!
@billyguns2 Harding was a crook should never have been elected President.Again, thanks to the "hands Off" style of "leadership" from people like Coolidge and even Hoover,we had the Depression. They just watched the country get worse and worse and said "it's none of our business." That is a tepid leader who is afraid of failing because he won't even try. At least Truman had guts to use the Atomic Bombs, recognize Israel, and desegregate the military.
@billyguns2 Well, at least I don't sound paranoid about anything and everything the Government does for the people. I will admit that it has an infinite number of secrets dating back to the begging of our founding. And I'm not saying everything should or can be run by the government. But I trust the government way more than I ever will big Business. Please name something President Harding ever did that is note worthy other than having one of the shortest presidencies on record?
Respond to this video... Wilson's deplorable beliefs and actions speak for themselves, You comment on McKinley, a Republican, yet excuse and apologize for some of the biggest imperialist presidents; is that because you're partisan, only seeing good in Democrats? Johnson is "short changed?" This suggests that he was not to blame for the hundreds of thousands of dead innocents in a totally unnecessary war that made many corporations richer. You conveniently ignore my criteria for good leaders.
@billyguns2 I don't give two craps about YOUR criteria. I look at what they can do for the people. Unlike a lot of Republicans,Democrats see things around them and want to do something good. Not just sit on their hands and say "It will work itself out." If that were the case, slavery and bigotry would be legal in America still. I like Nixon(who went into Cambodia BTW) and Eisenhower(Indo-China/Vietnam). Just because you say they're bad doesn't mean they are.
@billyguns2 Lyndon Johnson deserves A LOT of blame for Vietnam, that is true. But Johnson deserves credit for Medicare/Medicaid,Civil Rights/Voting Rights, aid to Education, Job Corps,Clean Air and Water Acts.Wilson gave us the 8 hr. work day,the FTC,the Clayton Anti-Trust Act,a reform of Child Labor Law,was a great grandfather to the U.N.,and yes that mean old FEDERAL RESERVE(AAAAAAHHHHHHH!). By your criteria, just about every President would be impeached for trying to do ANYTHING.
Respond to this video... What are your criteria? Seems to be war, meddling, financial ruin, and disregarding gthe laws of the nation and having no respect for the U.S. Constitution, in other words a STATIST.
@billyguns2 Call me any name you wish. But at least I look at Government as something good, not as the "enemy" or something to get rid of. James Madison once stated:"If men were angels,no Government would be necessary." Weather you like it or not,Government has a role to play in peoples lives. But when people of your thinking get hold of power, you try and destroy it then say "See,I told you it doesn't work."
@Suprkit No foreign wars were fought under Harding and Coolidge's enlightened and prosperous leadership. My criteria for a successful leader is peace, prosperity, and respect for law and individual rights. Truman, Wilson, and LBJ fail on all those counts; LBJ's triumph was Civil Rights, not enough to save his presidency overall.

@Suprkit I will say that it was admirable of Truman to desegregate the military after Wilson segregated the entire U.S. government.

@b1i2l336 Yeah...and Harding,Coolidge,Hoover,or Roosevelt could have desegregated it before him. Nice try.
