That had nothing to do with it. The propeller is often quite shallow on a jon (john) boat, well above the ground while on a trailer. In this case, the trailer had been backed off the side of the ramp (one tire off the side of that ramp), causing the trailer's axle to drag as they came forward.
@shotgunman432 not on this boat, the engine doesn't even come close to touching the ground. on big bass boats and ski boats, ya you need to raise the motor, but this motor only comes down as far as the trailer. no need here.
Looks like you could definitely use a set of trailer guide-on's. Not even for loading, but so you can see the trailer when backing up. AND add a damn safety chain to the winch post.
