  • Will Star Wars will ever be in the Past ? Of Course not. Star Wars is just another Epic Franchise and Lucas, a genius among the Greatest. I surely understand frustrations from ST"s Fans, but you have to Understand George Lucas, as the Universe is evolving, so is his one, his Star Wars Universe, but still the essence remains.

  • you know i've always thought Avatar is the movie of our generation. It's like when Star Wars came out, it blew everyone away. Now were like, wow, the old star wars movies are really dry and boring. What will the next generation think about Avatar?

  • @DriveThruRec

Um, after the new Blu-ray changes to Star Wars, my generation has probably lost a lot of respect for those old classics. And if anyone else is like me, they've clung to Avatar, because it is actually a better film, period.

It's like the difference between Flash Gordon and 2001: A Space Odyssey, literally.

  • sound is main that make u anything .damn where does they dat theme songs dude another great trailer soul by music

  • WHAT IS THAT SONG CALLED!?!?!?!? Plz tell me...

  • @Dnll55489 "Legions of Doom" by audiomachine

  • All Avatar and James Cameron Fans should join James Cameron Online Forums where there won't be hate over this awesome movie and discussing his movies in great manners.

  • And one of the greatest - if not THE GREATEST home video releases in history hit shelves and took the world by storm.

  • @LukeLovesRose Sorry, but that's a MASSIVE over-reaction. The film is great, but the greatest home video release is easily the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions back on the gool ol' DVD. All 3 extended editions combined add at least 2 and a half hours of new footage. NOT deleted, actually intergrated into the movie.

And Avatar has 20 on the Extended Collector's Edition. Pffft.

  • @GunGraveTZA2

Over-reaction? Hey, I loved the original release of those LOTR Extended Editions as much as the next person, but Jackson didn't give audiences near as much cool shit as Cameron did with this set. Plus, those DVDs look awful compared to this crisp and beautiful Blu-ray transfer. Did Jackson give us multiple versions in one with those original extended cuts? NO. We had to wait for another separate release again.

  • @LukeLovesRose

I have both versions of LOTR on DVD but have the theatrical cuts on high def and soon will replace my extended editions with Blu-Rays once the other editions hits Blu-Ray. But i wish Lucas would release the original versions of the old school SW trilogy on Blu-Ray but thank god he did on DVD and that's a good sign that Lucas does listen to his fans.

  • @GunGraveTZA2

And, like so many people, I think you're a little too obsessed with Jackson's retelling of Tolkien's wonderful stories. His adaptations were FAR from perfect and they're not nearly as captivating with repeat viewings as Avatar is.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Oh cool, a Tolkein fan. I'm one too since i was 12, ever read Frank Herbert's Dune novels? awesome, thought-provoking and imaginative Sci-fi fantasy that influenced Avatar and Star Wars to many other Sci-fi epics. James Cameron is a big fan of Herbert and Tolkein.

  • @LukeLovesRose I'm not talking about the movies themselves (although in my opinion LOTR > Avatar any day), I'm talking about purely in terms of actually added and extended content.

    140 minutes > 20 minutes. Nuf' said.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Well i had to wait to buy this awesome edition and had to rent this in various video stores in my city and watch it on HBO including watching 2 times in theaters the special edition until i get the 3-Disc Blu-Ray and i finally did last month, oh man i was in heaven enjoying 3 versions of this epic movie and the extras despite no commentary was great. I gotta say the theatrical special edition re-issue had improved 3D this time, gives more quality to it.

  • @Johnlindsey289 is it already available in dvd now?..

  • I GOT IT

  • The sound used in the trailer is /watch?v=wrF2ZBLvE_Y

  • Avatar was such an amazing and awe inspiring film

I am definitely getting this edition and I can't wait for the prequel and sequel that James Cameron is working on.....

  • Imagine another 2 Avatar movies in 5 years already.

That's like 10 Hours of Avatar.

My life will be complete in 5 years

  • @iDeKlein17 ure life is made of giant blue cat people? ok...

  • @Alex2149

    I never said that.

    dick

  • Does anyone have any idea what the name of the song used in this trailer is?

  • This is not in 3D is it i mean will they ever release this film that way

  • LMFAO CUM

  • just saw the collectors edition and wow the extra scenes are great. The making of avatar documentary is amazing.

  • @teta809 did u seen +17 added extra scene's ? or +8 ?

  • @Xpayne1 the 17.

  • @teta809 oh so it is disc 1 , i downloading Disc 2 Atm..lol each disc is 45gb =/

  • @Xpayne1 i have the dvd(HD tv broke).....half the movie is in the 1st dvd and the second half is on the second cd. bluray will easily fit the whole movie. 45gb for a reason. theres a bunch of behind the scenes stuff and extra scenes. enjoy:)

  • @teta809 bunch u mean all those extra scene's adn stuff in all 1 movie ? or just cut scene showing ?

  • Liar !

  • Tommorow is the big day for THE collector's edition Blu-Ray of the year.

  • I have never heard of most of those movies you have listed, but I have some of them, so I say no.

  • @Spinozilla98

Blade Runner is just an awesome awe-inspiring Sci-fi movie that is my fave movie since i was 13 and people should watch for it's an experience. Also watch 1927's silent masterpiece "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang and there's the 2 best anime movies Akira and Ghost in the Shell which are 2 influential works of art as James Cameron is a huge fan of those movies. Also read Frank Herbert's Dune novels, great stuff which inspired both Avatar and Star Wars.

  • willhunting1995 James Cameron is not an idea stealer !!!!!!!!!! Does Dances with wolves take place on a moon in another solar system. Does it have blue cat-like 10 foot tall aliens? Does it take place in the future with advanced technology? Need I go on? There are hundreds of movies and tv shows based off of Titanic[we aren't stupid, we know it happened]. Cameron came up with Aliens himself.

  • @Spinozilla98

And do you think The Matrix is a combination of Blade Runner, Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Metropolis, Frank Herbert's Dune, Neuromancer, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, Terminator 1 & 2, and other Cyberpunk fiction?

  • @Spinozilla98 Think again, that's all Cameron does, is steal other people's ideas and name them his own. No wonder he was sued by Harlan Ellison over the first Terminator's script and how much it ripped off from The Outer Limits. Cameron was forced to settle out of court and give credt to Ellison over the storyline regarding the Terminator franchise.

  • WHOOOOO!

  • I know what the alternate opening is!

    It's his brother being killed!

  • .... I bought this yesterday:D ( 11th november!)

  • Avatar, a movie just as shitty as Roland Emmerich's Independance Day!

  • @willhunting1995 Avatar is fantastic, Independence Day is great, too. If you hate Avatar, don't comment on this page and go see 127 Hours or some other pretentious art-house crap.

  • @ProfessorRJLupin No, Avatar is shitty and Independance Day is pure diarheea. Both films have shitty scripts, laughable characters and special effects that take place over story, in other words both are Michael Bay clone movies.

  • @willhunting1995

    What about M.Night Shayamalan?

  • @ProfessorRJLupin

Now i'm a movie fan who can enjoy an arthouse movie or great foreign movie once in a while and loves to have fun too with ID4 and Avatar, while ID4, Stargate, The Patriot and Making Contact (a.k.a. Joey) are Emmerich's best movies.

  • @willhunting1995

Independence Day was fun. Not GREAT, but good fun. And there's nothing wrong with that. It may even be Emmerich's best film. Like The Rock was Bay's best. But, that of course, doesn't say much about the filmmakers.

Avatar is in a completely different league. James Cameron is in a completely different league. I still think he's everything Spielberg has ever wanted to be.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Well Spielberg still can be good if we can forgive him for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but Munich was better and he did a good job on the underrated A.I., ID4, Stargate and The Patriot with the underrated Making Contact (a.k.a. Joey) (His German debut which i uploaded on youtube uncut and in english subs with German and a childhood fave) are Roland Emmerich's best movies and The Rock is Bay's best i do agree.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well, I can't forgive Cameron for his shitty screenwriting at all.No wonder the AMPAS has always ignored his shitty scripts and no wonder half of Hollywood thinks that Cameron is a complete asshole!

  • @LukeLovesRose No, Correction, Independance Day was shitty filmmaking at it's worst, no wonder the Razzies went after it. As for Cameron, he'll always live in Speilberg's shadow! Spielberg has far more awards than Cameron will ever have in his lifetime!

  • When is the extended collector's edition of The Hurt Locker, a far better film than Avatar, coming out?

  • @willhunting1995 The Hurt Locker is boring pretentious garbage and the only people who like it are ancient movie snobs. Avatar rules. Deal with it.

  • @ProfessorRJLupin Really, I guess that's why The Hurt Locker, not Avatar won 6 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director. Avatar is nothing more than a cartoon, nothing more. Deal with that! Oh, and James Cameron is a HACK!

  • @willhunting1995

What makes James Cameron a hack exactly? Enlighten us.

  • @LukeLovesRose Well, gee, Cameron is good at taking other people's ideas and making them his own. For example the original Terminator was inspired by an episodes of The Outer Limits. Aliens was a sequel to a Ridley Scott movie. Terminator 2 is the sequel to the film that was inspired by The Outer Limits. True Lies was based on a French comedy, Titanic was based on a real life tragedy, and Avatar is a rip off of Dances With Wolves. Need I go on?

  • @willhunting1995

Are you retarded? I thought you were an idiot before, but now, I can't help but wonder if you're retarded.

There have been countless movies based on real life events that are highly praised. Gone With The Wind, a fictional story with the Civil War as a backdrop. Casablanca, a fictional story with the Nazi occupation of France and Morocco as a backdrop. Then, there are real life event films that are Hollywoodized to make more AWESOME movies. Butch and Sundance is one of them.

  • @LukeLovesRose

I think Willhunting1995 is a limpdick aim't that right? history and fiction does go well. Let's also not forget Braveheart which is another great example of historical fiction, there was also "Black Hawk Down" (Which is 10 times better than Hurt Locker), "Gladiator", "Full Metal Jacket", "Empire of the Sun" to all the way to the powerful animated WWII masterpiece "Grave of the Fireflies" (A film that is one of Cameron's faves) and other epics.

  • @LukeLovesRose No, I am not retarded but I am beginning to think that you are. Just because a movie has a historical backdrop doesn't make it great at all. (Pearl Harbor, Titanic, etc) As I said earlier Cameron is great at stealing other people's ideas and naming them his own, making him a hack indeed! Now I'm sure that your Ritalin is somewhere in your mommy's room.

  • @willhunting1995

Many stories are inspired by other stories.

I bet my ass William Shakespeare took ideas from other playwrights. But, we don't know enough about him to say for sure... because none of us were there. We can theorize with some understanding of humanity and human psychology.

George Lucas based a lot of Star Wars off Flash Gordon. He also used a lot of archetypes from mythology. But, why does that make it bad? If you can pull a brand new tale out of your butt....

  • @LukeLovesRose

Lucas also used Akira Kurasowa's movies like The Hidden Fortress (One of my faves since high school when they showed it as some people call Star Wars a Sci-fi remake of The Hidden Fortress) and of course Frank Herbert's brilliant Sci-fi/fantasy literature masterpiece "Dune" as inspirations for Star Wars.

  • @LukeLovesRose Yes, many stories are inspired by other stories, but no one really steals from other people half as much as Cameron does and then claims it as his own work. No wonder the producers of The Outer Limits sued Cameron for stealing the idea of the Terminator which Cameron was forced to settle out of court.

  • @willhunting1995

Everyone knows about the Harlan Elison story, you jackass. And if you ask me, that fat fuck author was just looking for attention to get more readers, because he saw how popular The Terminator could be.

  • @LukeLovesRose Well, then jerkoff you know that Harlan Ellison sued James Cameron for royalties for ripping off his earlier ideas, and Cameron making them his own. That's why cameron was sued and why Cameron was forced to share story credit with Elison, jackass.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Correct and would you compare Avatar to the Dune books? those are awesome awe-inspiring works of Science Fiction. I mean the first Dune book is the same as Avatar with the outcast on exotic planet thing to later become part of a rebelous tribe of aliens, fall in love with an exotic alien girl, fighting for a substance that controls space and time like the space Melenge, taming the beasts and that sort of thing.

  • @willhunting1995

    Your a faggot.

  • @Johnlindsey289 No, you are, at least that's what your mother told me when I was banging her the other day, retard.

  • That was in 1939. She was so believable, so frustrating and yet, so watchable that her character lived on for 70 years. That's incredible. And she hadn't done a lot before GWTW. Leigh was practically a novice.

Titanic wll be talked about for many years to come. It will inspire filmmakers for longer than 30 to 40 years. The scenes that people bitch about will become legend... like "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" or "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow."

  • @LukeLovesRose

Yes Titanic is the last generation's Casablanca/Gone with the Wind i admit and do you think Halloween was the 70's Psycho as well as Scream being the 90's version of Halloween/Psycho combined or is Se7en the modern Psycho? it's called a new generation thing as we were born and raised in the 80's and 90's. Alien was the Forbidden Planet of the 70's, Silence of the Lambs was the Vertigo of the 90's and Dark Knight/Batman Begins could be the Superman 1 & 2 of the 2000's.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Wow, it looks like john and luke are carbon copies of each other.Do they suck each other's dicks as well, or just Camerons?

  • @willhunting1995

Fuck you fag-ass motherfucker, Luke and i aren't carbon copies of each other we are devoted Cameron fans and we both grew up with his movies and i've seen all of Cameron's movies except for the first Terminator which i saw on video in 1990 when i was 9 in theaters with Aliens being one of my first R-rated movies when i was 5. Get off both of our backs and NO we don't suck each others dicks for we aren't queer and we don't suck Cameron's dick, it's you who sucks cocks.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Actually fuck you, bitch. You and Luke are carbon copies of each other, dumbass!

  • And to me, Star Wars was the equivalent of The Wizard of Oz for the last generation. The Godfather was Gone With The Wind for that generation. But, neither of them really live up to that kind of greatness IMO. A movie that great has to add to film for more than 30 years. What were the innovations of The Godfather that people couldn't do better today??

But, if you ask around, many people will tell you that the single greatest female performance in film is Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara.

  • @LukeLovesRose

SW was the WOZ in the 70's and i bet either The Princess Bride or The Neverending Story could be the 80's Wizard of Oz. And for the modern generation's Snow White in terms of being a groundbreaker in animation would be Toy Story and Spirited Away could be this generation's Pinocchio if you ask me. I'm thinking of making an Avatar music video, i'm new at making videos but new at it, what equipment do i need to buy? i mean you made videos, now i need to know.

  • @LukeLovesRose Sorry but The Godfather will always be a superior film to either Titanic or Avatar. The AFI just voted it the second greatest film ever made and I'm sure their opinion will always eclipse yours for over a thousand years!

  • @willhunting1995 I love the Godfather, but I like Avatar slightly better. Titanic was bad.

  • @willhunting1995

Um, yeah and I bet you'll tell me that you're psychic. lol.

I've studied The Godfather and I've studied Titanic. Believe you me, there is much more art in the latter.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Screw Willhunting1995, he's just a bastard. Besides you and i both thought Hurt Locker sucked, there's better Kathyrn Bigelow movies like Near Dark, Strange Days (Produced by Cameron himself), and Point Break which are her best movies. Did you know Bigelow was once the wife of Cameron? even Cameron supervised on Near Dark and borrowed the Aliens cast for that 80's cult classic as Lance was badass as Jessie Hooker as much as he was to Bishop.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Aww, looks like someone is pissed off. You think that The Hurt Locker sucked, Fine, but the AMPAS and the BAFTAS both disagree with you and LukeLovesRose completely. And yes, I know that Bigelow was Cameron's ex-wife. That man has had several ex wives including Linda Hamilton who sued him bline!

  • @willhunting1995

Son of a bitch, your on my ignore list. Besides Near Dark blows Hurt Locker out of the water, NOW that is a more quality movie than HL.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Good to hear, now run along, the adults are talking here!

  • @willhunting1995

Your a piece of shit to bash us Cameron fans. *Shoves screwdriver in WH1995's skull Dawn of the Dead style

  • @Johnlindsey289 Dude seriously eat a dick!

  • @willhunting1995

Seriously, if you see Cameron's work as hack film-making, he's won, he's beat you. You will never amount to the greatness of James Cameron with that attitude.

So, yeah. While I'm trying to understand Cameron's genius, maybe moving forward with a wonderful film career, you'll be left in the dust of me and James Cameron. That's why you're retarded.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Pay no attention ti WH1995, he's just a jackoff who has no attention or respect to the magic of Cameron who is my third fave director with Spielberg number one and Hitchcock number 2, Cameron third and Kurasowa being fourth then followed by Hayao miyazaki. Cameron is just an inspirational man who inspired many director's and young filmmakers since his debut with Terminator (Pirahna 2 notwithstanding)

  • @LukeLovesRose Oh, boo hoo the response of a little child with the "you'll never amount to Cameron at all:" Well, two can play that game as well, Cameron will NEVER amount to Spielberg at all! Spielberg already has far more awards, worldwide recognition, and acclaim than Cameron will ever have in his entire lifetime.

  • @willhunting1995

And, it doesn't matter whether The Godfather is beloved or respected today. What matters is what film will be on top of that list in the next 100 years. Jackass,

  • @LukeLovesRose

Of course Godfather 1 & 2 are movies that stood time for they are true cinematic treasures, want me to take care of Willhunting for you? *Sharpens sword

  • @Johnlindsey289 Bring it on little man, and be prepared for a giant foot right up your ass anyday, anytime!

  • @LukeLovesRose Yes, and I can guarantee you that The Godfather will be on that list and Titanic will not. The AFI has far more knowledge about film history than you will ever have and they judge The Godfather as one of the greatest films ever made. Titanic isn't even close!

  • @LukeLovesRose

I took care of Willhunting for you, better now?

  • @LukeLovesRose Well, let's just say far more experience filmmakers who know what the hell they are doing obviously have a very different opinion about The Godfather than you do, including the AFI. Yeah, and in 100 years The Godfather will be on that list, and those shit stains Titanic and Avatar will not!

  • @willhunting1995

Are you psychic? No. You're just a geek, living in his mom's basement, attacking movies you don't understand, because all you can understand are the posters of crap like Power Rangers taped on your walls.

  • Comment removed

  • @LukeLovesRose

Power Rangers weren't that good anyway except for the Pink Ranger, she was hot you gotta admit. Sonic The hedgehog was a better 1993-1995 show on Saturday morning than Power Rangers and that was my fave saturday morning show at the age when i was 12 when it came out, now that's an awesome animated show that had similarities to Avatar.

  • @LukeLovesRose Right, that's why The Godfather is regarded as one of the greatest films of all times, especially with the American Film Institute. You have your head so far up Cameron's ass that you don't understand why far more talented people working in Hollywood feel otherwise to your obsene opinions.

  • @willhunting1995

And make it better than Titanic, Avatar, The Terminator, Aliens, etc, I'd like to see it. And I mean, BRAND NEW.

  • @willhunting1995

The problem people have with Cameron's work is that sub-consciously you all know he's the best, you all know every shot is perfect. But, how can this man making a killer cyborg from the future, a pack of bug-like aliens, a spy thriller with a lot of comedy and a movie about blue cat-like people be THE BEST filmmaker?? The best should make more profound films like The Godfather or No Country for Old Men, right? LOL

  • @LukeLovesRose No, actually, the problem with Cameron's followers is that they think HE is the best filmmaker of all time. While they are entitled to their minority opinion, the majority of the world disagreess. He's on the same league of filmmaking as Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich with a much better budget. Nothing more. He makes cheesy popcorn movies with extremely shitty screenwriting in them.

  • @LukeLovesRose Yeah, you have "studied" The Godfather so much that you need to pull your head out of your ass. Ask any reputable film professor about which film is more important culturally, Godfather or Titanic, and Godfather wins in a massive landslide. Even the AFI named Godfather as the second best film ever made behind Citizen Kane, and every critic in America names it as one of the greatest films ever made, Can't say that same thing about any of Cameron's films including Avatar or Titanic.

  • @willhunting1995

LOL. Um, so... if some professor tells me to jump off a cliff, I should do it?? C'mon! Grow a brain! We are all entitled to our opinion. And in my opinion, The Godfather is highly overrated.

  • @LukeLovesRose In your case, yes, you should jump off of a bridge, it might knock some sense into that feeble mind of yours. And in my opinion all of Cameron's shitty films are extremely overrated.

  • @willhunting1995 <---- this guy likes power ranger dolls. Just look at his favorites.

  • Only a week to go, ladies and gentlemen. I don't know about you, but I want to be one of the first people to buy this AWESOME freakin' set. Blu-ray was made for Avatar.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Me too, i have some casino money saving to buy this awesome set. I had to wait because i think the barebones Blu is good for renting when i'm an extras geek. Did you know It was on HBO last night? it was and now i wanna see what was missing from the theatrical cut. This will be on one of my favorite director's cuts with LOTR extended editions, Blade Runner Final Cut, Aliens Special Edition and Star Trek 2 Special Edition.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Well i got my alarm set for tommorow morning at 8:00 to be one of the first people to buy the Blu-Ray set since tommorow is one of my days off from work.

  • I loved the movie, DVD set in the making video youtube.com/watch?v=aIPKCvSbIqw

  • ..hey are the deleted scenes IN THE MOVIE?.. or on a seperate disc?.. i want them included IN THE FILM..

  • I'm a big lover of extras and this movie and i didn't buy the Bare-Bones Blu-Ray which is only good for rental, i'm just patient so i can get this version and will get it before thanksgiving. My parents do own the DVD of this movie, awesome movie i saw it 12 times in theaters and even during the first premiere on one of my days off work since i have 3 days off work in a week. I even saw the Avatar Special Edition in theaters in my city which was a good but little cut.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I have both the DVD and Blu-Ray bare bones edition, but i can't wait to get this edition as well when it's released.

  • @TheAltair4

It should show what has been missing from the theatrical cut with three versions including deleted scenes on bonus disc.

  • Why are people bitching about owning the "bare-bones DVD/Blu-ray" from April and now, having to buy this FREAKIN" AWESOME 3 disc set?? You know how many versions of every Cameron masterpiece I own?? I could line the walls for insulation with all of the DVD or VHS or Blu-ray or Laserdisc copies of Aliens or T2 that I own. Jesus, people.

You act like Cameron's deliberately stringing all along like George Lucas with his enhance original (non-special edition) SW trilogy.

  • @LukeLovesRose WOW you have an outstanding collection then, but i do own some laserdiscs of Aliens and T2 too as well including the T2 Ultimate Edition DVD (Which was one of my first DVD purchases after christmas in 2000 when i got my player) and Aliens special edition 2-Disc DVD but i'm waiting for the Blu-Ray of Alien and Aliens. I am for this edition which the barebones is good for a rental which i rented in various stores in my city as i'm buying this set the first day.

  • In the words of THE KOOLAID MAN:

    "OH YEEAAAH!"

  • Goodbye, George Lucas.

You had to make Greedo fire first. You had to throw in Jabba the Hut and Hayden Christensen where they didn't belong. You had to create Jar Jar Binks. So, now, we the audience want you to just step aside or go away, and let better filmmakers take over in your place. Thank you for hearing me, George.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Damn right, JC and Peter Jackson put Lucas to shame for they know how to put visually stunning and unique stories on Film. Let's not forget that George Lucas produced Howard The Duck, remembered that one?

  • @Johnlindsey289

I don't say that lightly, John. I grew up watching the original Star Wars trilogy, before Lucas fucked it all up. They were everything to me as much as every other SW fan. But, then, Lucas raped my childhood with the Special Editions and the prequels.

So, I started looking for a replacement elsewhere. I didn't find it in the Lord of the Rings films. They drag on a bit too much for my taste. So, my favorite filmaker comes along and says that he can beat Lucas. And he does.

  • @LukeLovesRose

Avatar may very well become as much of a legend as The Wizard of Oz. The next equivalent to The Wizard of Oz shouldn't meet some criteria. TWOO was a major and wonderful surprise for families in 1939. No one had EVER seen ANYTHING like it before... even though, TWOO borrowed a lot from Disney. Sound familiar to the Pocahontas crap we've been hearing?

Avatar is exactly like that. We've never seen ANYTHING quite like Avatar before. It was a wonderful, surprise Holiday gift.

  • @LukeLovesRose

if TWOO and Avatar have that disney feel. Do you think The Matrix had the feel of Japanimation? i mean films like Ghost in The Shell, Akira, Ninja Scroll and Dragonball Z influenced The Matrix. Did you know Cameron is a fan of anime? he praised GITS, Akira and Ninja Scroll including Miyazaki's Ghibli movies. I'd say Avatar is more on par with Princess Mononoke which is an awesome adult animated movie that shares the same themes as Avatar and just as timeless with a great score.

  • @Johnlindsey289 omg i was saying that to my friends brother last nite it had a sort of anime feel too it cant wait for thise

  • @freacls

Well Cameron is a huge fan of anime especially Miyazaki as he was influenced by MOnonoke and Nausicaa. Ever seen those 2?

  • @Johnlindsey289 no must cheack them out the anime iv seen is stuf like DBZ and Advent children the Final fantasy movie AC is good DBZ is more cartoony

  • @LukeLovesRose Dream on, there is a reason why The Hurt Locker won Best Picture, because Avatar is nothing more than a fluke, with shitty screenwriting, etc!

  • @willhunting1995 I don't care that Avatar is as old as dirt. It's an epic cinematic experience like no other. Avatar isn't about the script, it's about the gorgeous, immersive world that James Cameron created, and seeing awesome visuals unlike anything ever seen before. Avatar blew me away. The Hurt Locker was boring, pretentious garbage.

  • @ProfessorRJLupin

Do you think Near Dark and Strange Days with Point Break are better than Hurt Locker for being Kathyrn Bigelow's best movies?

  • @LukeLovesRose

And yet no one complains about the length in Ben-Hur, Titanic or Gone with the Wind. You remember Howard The Duck? George Lucas's so-called biggest mistake, i liked it since i was 5 when i saw it in theaters and it maybe a goofy movie but kind of fun a guilty pleasure as it's better than the prequels but damn Lea Thompson was smoking hot even in her lingerie. I own the unscrewed with SW trilogy on Laserdisc and on DVD with bonus material set.

  • @LukeLovesRose Well, I don't say this lightly at all, when I say that Avatar is nothing more than a Dances WIth Wolves/Ferngully clone. Just because it made money doesn't make it a good movie. Obviously both the American and British Academies both saw Avatar nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. You talk about TItaniv being great with the British population just voted it as one of the most overrated films of all time. James Cameron is nothing more than Michael Bay with bigger budgets!

And do you think The Matrix is a Ghost in The Shell/Blade Runner clone?

  • @willhunting1995 The Academy is a group of aged film snobs who don't like movies unless they're really boring and have no sense of epicness or fun (Gladiator and Lord of the Rings being exceptions). Go watch some pretentious art-house crap and stay away from this page! But Titanic still does suck.

  • Dude this edtion looks friggen EPIC!!!

  • what's the name of the song

  • @Yavanna92 Legions of Doom by Audiomachine

  • Fuck! I already own the theatrical version on blu-ray. Anybody want it? It's still in good condition, $10?

  • I can't wait it! But my home have avatar DVD is suck.

  • AMASING! Can't wait for it!

This will be to Avatar what the extended editions where to Lord of the Rings! =)

  • I bet that the reviews of this extended cut is gonna be alot better than that of the theatrical release. Don't get me wrong i liked this movie when it came out, but felt like alot of things were missing hopefully this cut can give that back to us.

I've been told that the reason why James Cameron had to shorten the movie was because of the limitation of movielength in Imax cinemas.

I don't know all the technical details but James had to chose between Imax 3D or only normal cinemas with 3D.

  • yeah!!! at last!
