It's so cool how they are adapted to a similar role to otters and their bodies are a similar shape. Evolutionary adaptation to a niche producing similar results in a species. It's the kind of thing that makes me wish I had the patience to work with animals. Sadly I'm too bad tempered and they deserve to be looked after by people much calmer than me.

Thanks for posting this great video. I just saw a fishing cat in the wild this past January (2011) while visiting Kaziranga National Park in Assam India... the cat was out about 10:00 a.m. or so and near what may have been a small oxbow lake... I got about 11 seconds of good video and three photographs of the cat before it disappeared, clearly quite aware and afraid of our party in a gypsy/jeep.

the kitties were ADORABLE!!! i love them! but i feel bad for that shy one u put in second. they look cute bundled up together. were they in an exsibit?

There is some concern about the kittens looking scared, just to clarify...The are not seperated from their mom. The keepers could not move the mom with them when they were put in their new exhibit. Mom usually keeps them in the nest box and this was the only time we could see the kittens. The kittens are doing just fine.

HAHA! Yes, esp with light shining on them. Huge black thing with a huge eye does not go well with kitties. Saw similar vid once... mom was so chill, kitties were hissing all they way lol. :D
