good thing SF4 is better balanced than 3s or CvS2. Dont get me wrong, I love those games, but you could not deny that the toptiers in those games were so present. In SSF4 it seems way more balanced, you see a wider range of characters.

Since those are the main characters that people pick. Someone could play with a Ken or Ryu with a BLINDFOLD on and still win. Everything they DO connects and you can Ultra off. Gouken? nope
Don't look at it as being lazy. Look at it as taking the path of least resistance. The win in the end is the same; why work hard with a bad character when you can have an easy time with a good character?
Though 99.9% of the time, you'll do better with a character you like than just whoring a top tier.

I kind of under stand this because i main a low tier character (claw), alot of times i will out play characters but still lose because people mash out links in between my pokes or RCF and its so annoying i was thinking about switching to a top tier, but i really cant find myself doing that because in this game it seems only top tiers can be succesful but i would like to prove that wrong much like other people who main claw Tatsu or Makoto of the top of my head,

@gamer2180 I main claw but now I am starting using abel,I cant believe the difference man:I have this friend with guile(decent) and it is a struggle fight him with vega(1 year of use) but now with abel(less than1 month of use) I own his ass with ease,just one of the examples.

Im really feeling this because I main with Gouken. If there was a SSF$ character who got screwed BIG time it was Gouken. I cant get myself to play with another character and it has let to many a headache but I have gotten better and I really got good at fighting Ryu's , Ken's and Cammy's and Sagat's. Since those are the main characters that people pick. Someone could play with a Ken or Ryu with a BLINDFOLD on and still win. Everything they DO connects and you can Ultra off. Gouken? nope

Don't look at it as being lazy. Look at it as taking the path of least resistance. The win in the end is the same; why work hard with a bad character when you can have an easy time with a good character?
Though 99.9% of the time, you'll do better with a character you like than just whoring a top tier.

@LeftyHangsLower As to the first part thats in essence laziness...choosing something with a low learning curve/resistant is taking the easy road why work harder with the lower tiers?...As to the second I agree we dont have much proof casual and tournaments with a few exceptions (Gamerbee, Vangief, Wildcat, Gipie for example) the best players I have played and have my ass handed to me have been the lower "tiers" and nerfed characters that where dropped by most players in general.

STRIPFIGHTERIV's Dan beat Daigo's Ryu (I don't care if it wasn't a tourney match, it still counts). It can be done. It has been done.
