My school only teaches french and german but I will try to teach myself Finnish. Can people tell me though do they have masculine and feminine nouns like they have in french and german (they have neuter in german too). I just want to know before I try learning this amazing language. :)

@Bloodshotshatterbone Just wanted to add that altough in literal language and in grammar "hän" is the right word to use ofcourse, but you actually rarely hear people use that when speaking finnish...we have pretty much replaced it by "it" ;D

For example, I wouldnt say "hän meni kouluun" = "he/she went to school", altough grammatically it would be exactly right, but I would always se "se meni kouluun" = "it went to school"....I know that sounds strange, but that's just the way it is :D

It sort of depends how much of it you want to learn. When it comes to the tenses, conjugations etc. finnish is one of the most difficult languages, and for a foreigner, I would say it is quite hard to assimilate.

Oh, and I have to say, I didn't know Simba's voice actor is Swedish. o_O His pronounciation has never bothered me that much. I think the way he speaks fits Simba's character very well actually. :)

Well he pronounces some of the words wrong or weirdly, and the grammar is pretty bad as well.

I don't blame him tho, there's lots of swedish-talking finns here, who don't actually speak/understand finnish at all.

The actors voice (the sound of it) is good enough for Simba anyway, it's just the pronounciation. It bothered me "slightly" when i was 9 and couldn't figure out what he's saying ;)

I love this movie more than anything and just had to comment...

Surprisingly yeah i have to admit that the finnish dubbing of TLK is very good indeed.. The only fault in my eyes (or ears) is that the voice talent of Simba speaks very bad finnish (sweden is his mothers tongue). It bothered me already as a 10 year old kid when the movie came out. Otherwise it's just wonderful, tho none beats the original version.

I think that his "bad" finnish gives a bit of edge to his voice. I have always loved his voice and I still do. And I don't think there's nothing bad in his pronounces. He can speak very good finnish. I never even listened it that way, just when you said that.

The Finnish dubing never ceases to amaze me. It's so good. Realy. Simba is so cute. Mufasa is so powerful. And I love this scene anyway. It's one of the best in the whole movie. Please upload it in Norwegian and Swedish.
