Awesome. I saw these guys twice over the years. Once they opened for CARCASS in 1992 then in 1998 they were part of a five band lineup with 13mg headlining.
Love this band. I had the fortune of meeting them and having master classes with Mark Clayden and Jason Bowld as well as supporting them when I studied Contemporary Popular Music in college (back in 2004).
in the early 2000's was back when metal meant Metal and not wimpy bitchs and skinny gayboys with make up and tight pants jumping around desperately whoreing themselves for airplay and writeing generic bulshit hopeing for massive coperate sponsership and airplay.
@klondike505 yeah but these guys heped push the boundaries. If music is original it doesnt need to be technical imo. otherwise every band would sound like metallica or acdc or whatever
Actually, there were plenty of those types in the early 2000's. Limp Bizkit, Korn, Orgy... a lot of them were the same way only they looked slightly different.
@tolis287 Well, I agree. But it shouldn't come as a surprise. Music is ageless. Most of the shit I see in 2011 isn't worth listening to, and get their asses kicked by music from half a century ago.
Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are still being exiled to hell by Led Zeppelin and Beatles.
@kanto2233 I didn't say I like lady gaga but even though she is terrible, I would much rather listen to her instead of this stuff. btw how old are you? 12? because it's typical of children to bring up lady gaga, justin bieber and other mainstream pop artist into arguments, when the stuff they listen to is just as shit.
these guys were fucking leagues ahead of their time. was just listening to some highly derivative group (Enter Shikari? lol) and thought fuck this, let me go listen to the masters of their craft. and to think this came out 13 years ago! amazing.

@VonBoche Yes,I agree mainly on what you said;the industrial metal scene sadly has pretty much weak artists in content.I used to like Rammstein pretty much but I honestly did because of their first 3 records, which had a special feel to them in their own separate ways."Reise,Reise" wasn't such a big deal;it had a few avrage songs on it,the musicality isn't completely forfilled.I can say the same about the next one,"Rosenrot".Even though the tracks were decent, they seemed like they were worn out
@VonBoche adn somehow lazy as well. The tension of the fans and perhaps of the label they were signed with back then, took their tool on the band members. The most recent one "Liebe ist fuer alle da" included a higher energy potential from them but still lacking some elements like clinical industrial keyboard sounds. It rather sounds like a nu metal devivation despite my liking to it.I consider Manson and Zombie too poor ripoffs of Ministry. Those two represent another example of shock value. They

@VonBoche Yes I understand you very well;not just through the video you showed me but also your beliefs behind your tastes.Fascinating, trippy and illusive.I always please myself with some ambient or the "Streecleaner" album from Godflesh mostly,I like'em all anyhow.Completely different shapes of atmosphere contaning in each of them
@VonBoche notice the constant seeds(today's kids) and attend to the decoy role. The audience and artists have bot a fault in this case;the audience diggs anything accesible while the artists turn greedy
these guy's progress over the years remind me much of how Oomph! developed from the time they were founded 1989 til now;they had an extremely raw sound in their early days but turned very clean in the meantime;maybe too clean,I understand though peaple change and versatility is required if you want to truely remain honest
@bloodyrockfire I feel the same about Oomph!, though I would doubt it's about honesty anymore. Last album was not great and the english best of was bullshit... Reminds me that there is another german bands re-doing their songs in english : Tokio Hotel !
@VonBoche First of all I have to say that it's funny because Pitchshifter finds itself to be in a coicidence lookout.Once they signed with a major label;they backed it down with the extreme vocal disortion, however the instrumetation seems to have remained pretty catchy.I like how the synth effects run up sometimes.I'm very confused about Oomph!.They state that they want to develop their music in the way their personalities do.I kinda doubt it and not,you know."Ego" was the last album
@VonBoche I fully enjoyed.Eversince then the band has begun to put their emotions asside and focuse just on the music production.I clearly noticed that they sold out with "Augen auf".I just don't find anything incredibly interesting about that particular track. To me "Wahrheit oder Pflicht" starts with "Tausend Neue Luegen".It stil has some decent songs but still far from what they used to bounce around. The following two..let's see sorta sounded very similar despite the difference
@VonBoche between each tune.I tried to explain peaple what Oomph really has become and tell them what lies behind everthing they hear and see,and guess what I recieved as a reply"fuck you hypocrite, you're just a troll".I asume that came from certain fanatic fangirls that for some reason listen to Oomph just because they pretend Dero's hot;damn WTF!? Last I checked those guys were a highly potential industrial metal group, not a prepschool boyscout crew.I can proove it with Pitchshifter
@VonBoche I don't see anyone runnin' around and calling their lead vocalist hot;I mean in such an extremely outblasting matter as the Oomph fans do.I personally want to hear music, not to see fashion.Let's see what come forth with their upcoming record beeing announced to be "highly experimental"
@bloodyrockfire I agree. The typical nu-metal construction of every one of their songs, trying too hard to be melodic, it just made of Oomph! just another band of poppish metal you won't remember in 10 years. I don't hate it all neither though, but overall I don't listen to Oomp! anymore...
BTW, what's up with Pitchshifter ? I heard they were alive some years ago, are they dead again or did I just heard wrong ?
@VonBoche I don't really know if they truely are nu metal but I also noticed that;it just siuted them way better beeing all raw and agressive assisted by creepy tunes and synths."Plastik" was I think the only melodic album which sounded great in my ears.I just can't understand what wrong with these artists. Why can't they undertsand if their honest music is highly appreciated ;they be getting their cash in check. They produced some decent tracks recently but far waker than "Defekt",Wunschkind"
@VonBoche or "Sperm".I'm all very suspicious because they turned soft right at the time when they signed with the major Virgin. If they could've just hold on and take care of their arses on their own.Now their under Sony's control.Look at "Rohstoff" for instance. That was mostly full of weak tunes, there were just 3 or 4 songs from their glory era but those were also pretty mediocre of performance;especially "Mitten ins Herz".Instead of growling or roaring the track;he started whining not to
@VonBoche scare the poor little girls standing up front.Another example is that "Sieger" track they released a few months ago.I'd advise you not to even check it out if you haven't already. It sounds exactly like a pop song.No more decent singing from that Dero guy.No more disortion in the guitar sound, samples are miserably arranged and set on,the lyrics don't have any slight deep meaning anymore. Two words; fuck Oomph! "Sieger" trashed any kind of chance I could still give them
@VonBoche Pitchshifter has restarted their activity and as I know ,they're working on a new studio album but don't have any information about the date of it's release
@bloodyrockfire I just listened to Sieger, I just forgot it too. It's not that their songs are softer that bothers me, it's the lazy songwriting behind that really annoy me. It's hollow ! It's a waste when change is not for the better !
@VonBoche yes,Oomph! used to write their older songs with a lot more passion than today."Sieger" is in my oipinion just weak,I can't possibly find a conservative way to get into it.An overall generic sound, composed to sell most likely. What amazes me is that the fans don't seem to notice Oomph!'s downfall. They always use this excuse of "maturing" and "experimenting".I partially agree but if you keep on playing the same sounds,oh well
@bloodyrockfire No, some bands manage to keep their sounds forever but then I wonder how they can show any passion in their songs anymore and sometimes it shows. For example (and to stick to german indus), Rammstein and Megaherz lasts albums were very weak in my opinion, they just tried to do what they're known for, in the end it sounded like they were mimicking who they used to be and nothing else. I think there's a time where you gotta try to reach something else but your old sound.
in my opinion... Test Drive 6 was best of all... it didnt have a kind of story like Ps2's test drive... and the cars wouldnt get tossed around like in TD5... but test drive 5 had some of the coolest rock music ever!
oh shit i remember this song from test drive 5...nah just kidding i heard a song on the dish network heavy metal channel, went out and bought the CD back in the 90s...they were an excellent industrial/punk rock band

Last I checked those guys were a highly potential industrial metal group, not a prepschool boyscout crew.I can proove it with Pitchshifter
bloodyrockfire 1 year ago
@VonBoche I don't see anyone runnin' around and calling their lead vocalist hot;I mean in such an extremely outblasting matter as the Oomph fans do.I personally want to hear music, not to see fashion.Let's see what come forth with their upcoming record beeing announced to be "highly experimental"
bloodyrockfire 1 year ago
@bloodyrockfire I agree. The typical nu-metal construction of every one of their songs, trying too hard to be melodic, it just made of Oomph! just another band of poppish metal you won't remember in 10 years. I don't hate it all neither though, but overall I don't listen to Oomp! anymore...
BTW, what's up with Pitchshifter ? I heard they were alive some years ago, are they dead again or did I just heard wrong ?
VonBoche 1 year ago
@VonBoche I don't really know if they truely are nu metal but I also noticed that;it just siuted them way better beeing all raw and agressive assisted by creepy tunes and synths."Plastik" was I think the only melodic album which sounded great in my ears.I just can't understand what wrong with these artists. Why can't they undertsand if their honest music is highly appreciated ;they be getting their cash in check. They produced some decent tracks recently but far waker than "Defekt",Wunschkind"
bloodyrockfire 1 year ago

@VonBoche Pitchshifter has restarted their activity and as I know ,they're working on a new studio album but don't have any information about the date of it's release
bloodyrockfire 1 year ago
@bloodyrockfire I just listened to Sieger, I just forgot it too. It's not that their songs are softer that bothers me, it's the lazy songwriting behind that really annoy me. It's hollow ! It's a waste when change is not for the better !
VonBoche 1 year ago
@VonBoche yes,Oomph! used to write their older songs with a lot more passion than today."Sieger" is in my oipinion just weak,I can't possibly find a conservative way to get into it.An overall generic sound, composed to sell most likely. What amazes me is that the fans don't seem to notice Oomph!'s downfall. They always use this excuse of "maturing" and "experimenting".I partially agree but if you keep on playing the same sounds,oh well
bloodyrockfire 1 year ago
