Creamy Crack and weaves. Our black women are addicted. Just like other addicts they will deny, deny. So don't argue with them. What if black men rocked a Nat King Cole conk today -would u respect him?
Balck man always talk shit abut black woman not wearing their real hair, but most black man in media mostly in sports keep their hair as shot as they possibly can, never grow it more than 1/2 inch high. or just keep it bald like Michel Jordan, any one can say what ever they wan't i know most black men when working around white folks cut their hair like fagots , and no one makes a movie about it. and no i'm not a woman or a white man.....
@mack3dg i really dont see how u can compare black men and women. black men dont have an issue with their hair, if they did they would perm it. the haircut ur talking about is called a fade, which looks good on black men. just like some white men cut their hair short because it looks neater and better. a lot of famous black rappers wear braids and dreads. if black men do have an issues with their hair it's rare compared to black women
@xLavenderBlossomx exactly lots men say it looks better and neater also cleaner. cause in reality they see curly hair or nappy hair as dirty them self's, i use to see it that way when i was younger., as soon as my hair was longer than a 1/2 it was time to run to the barbershop to remove the dirty looking curls, and make it look clan, or as you said neater, because reality is once our curls start to show we see it as dirty, because white people said that...
@mack3dg it's funny you should say this...my brother, whiter skinned than I (I'm a more olive toned than he), rocked an afro in 1978!! (it was his natural hair). I myself paid 100's of dollars back in the '80s for a perm (my hair is pin straight to wavy)...so it seems that no matter race, we want what we don't have! I myself admire many black women who wear their natural hair, whether long, or close skull cut. I always see black women as with beautiful shaped skulls.
You can sell stupid people anything. Caps with watches affixed to them. Cheap, gaudy trinkets, foolish looking jeans, overpriced gym shoes, flashy, but fragile rims for their late-model cars, and bulk hair to intergrate with the hair on their often empty heads.
The bombs were blowing up (for me) the fact that 99% black women don't like their natural hair and feel that the unnatural look of straight hair is not just preferable, but the ONLY way they can see themselves as acceptable. And when the Black women he interviewed co-signed this - without even looking back (or inward), it just made me sooooo SAD.
think C.R. did a great job tiptoeing around the underlying issue of black hair and self acceptance but for me bombs were going off throughout most of the movie/documentary.
What a stupid thing to say. " You don't want to hair to look like........Africa". Well it's hard not to say that when the people that are buying your products are/have AFRICAN decent -___-
A dang shame, that woman is gonna believe the shopkeeper(Asian) to tell Chris Rock (Black) That our hair is worthless(Black) SMFH >:/ How you gonna let a diffrent race tell you something about your hair that's on your head that they don't even have or know about? :/ She need to work at a REAL shop
That Black Bxxtch Standing Next To The Asian Guy Made Me Mad.
Nobody Walks Around With "Nappy" Hair Anymore? Lady Do You Even Know What You're SAYING? She's Basically Saying HER HAIR & Other Black Peoples' Hair Is Shxt & That White Peoples' Hair Is The "Good" Hair.
I Hate Ignorant People, I Swear I Do. I Would Of Told Her Some "Things".
Damn Lady Can't Even Speak "Proper" English. SMH.....
Lets just be honest here people don't let no other race tell you your hair is not beautiful because God made all different types of hair and if you sit around and let other races talk down to you about black hair then you are letting them make you have low self esteem about your head while they feel great because they put you down black people hair may not be that good but I know one thing we are the most beautiful women you ever seen LOVE YOUR HAIR NO MATTER WHAT ANY OTHER RACE SAYS FUCK THEM
The woman standing next to the Asian guy is the Asian guy's half black daughter. Do you expect her to think any differently than the way she was brought up/raised?
I have had my hair relaxed and I am currently natural. I love it! It's thicker, grows faster, and it retains length because it's not damaged like it was when I was on the creamy crack.. And I'm able to save a ton of money as opposed to spending so much on superficial things.
I don't understand the point of this "going natural" craze since it just seems like another bandwagon for people to jump on to make them feel good about themselves. Do what you want to your hair and don't care what other people think of it, period. The key to looking sexy comes from within, it's your confidence.
I understand Chris Rock is trying to say people should love their hair but not all of us get perms or use weaves/wigs just because we want straight hair or hate our natural hair.
Black Hair is the Best hair ever, When we take care of our hair with the correct oils that it really needs. It looks better than any other hair. If black hair is not something that someone else does wants, then whay do people want to volumize their hair hmm... bc they want hair like ours. Just like when they said balck skin is ugly, they go and tan them selvs to make their skin almost as dark as ours. Our society is so twisted and minipulated on puspose.

@Poekie17 for about 30 minutes.the terressentials mud wash works as a shampoo and conditioner.it is truely awesome.you wont have to do the shampoo and constion step anymore.just the mud wash and thats it. i love it.look on youtube here too.they have info on it.it is 100% natural
@Poekie17 hey there have you heard of terressentials! please google it.it has truely saved my hair. i have 4a/4b natural kinky hair and i dont condition anymore apart from maybe every 2 weeks i use the mayonaise that you eat and i add a one whole egg to it and put that on my dry air.....................
I'm happy i went natural. There are so many other girls in my high school going natural as well bc of youtube. i love this documentary. I hope they make a new one soon showing the natural hair revolution on youtube, forums, and the convensions
i love my brothers and sisters in america but i think they've just LOST it....like really really really LOST their minds...listening to the woman with the asian dude
@pepperannziggi do you realize the statement you just made said supports what i am trying to say if you even read my comments ? and when did i judge anyone, just because my opinion is against yours or someone else's doesn't mean in some tyrant that goes around judging people.
That's kinda sad... I'm white and I don't think having kinky hair is disgusting or anything. Just because something is different does not make it worse or bad, its just different. I don't understand why people are so obsessed w/ hair. Theres a black actress on the show Detroit 187 who is completely bald with no hair at all, and I think she is beautiful...
because you dont know how to take care of your hair to get pass your shoulders and once i started really taking care of my hair like keeping it moisturize. Once i start taking care of my hair it actually grew to my back but then i cut my hair and wanted to be natural
That woman standing next to the Asian guy is a complete moron. Nappy is derogatory kinky is the correct term and she's black her dumbass should know that.
Eh, I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural and it's very liberating. Who cares what other races and ethnicities have to say about our hair? Their opinion shouldn't matter when it comes to OUR natural hair.
@lovemeloveyou011 Your natural hair might look ugly. My natural hair is long, healthy and it's beautiful. That self-hatred that you have is not a redeeming quality. I hope that more black people will learn to love who they are....naturally. Try looking at some natural hair vids on here. You might change your mind
@IamWhatIam081 I have I've been hunting for long natural hair and thats whats encouraged me to try and grow and look after my hair. I'll only ever go 'natural' if my hair grows down to my back and can look nice, straight, silky and thick when straightened with a hot comb, other than that, the brillo pads got to be hidden away. Yes I do hate a part of myself, that ugly afro hair will never be displayed in public, I'm angry that black peoples hair texture is so different.
@tubetime3 I get the fact that kinky hair is just not attractive to me, thats my opinion. From young I've only ever loved long wavy hair and that desire has never changed. If thats a 'slave mentality' then let it be, I don't care I'm not going to pretend or attempt to 'embrace' my natural hair. Bottom line is I hate the look of our hair, thats it.
@lovemeloveyou011 because of your environment and the lack of social acceptance black culture has, its being brainwashed unless thats your honest opinion. I actually think straight hair is worse, it shouldn't be about some stupid misconception of beauty if deep down your doing it to conform then your just wearing a mask
@tubetime3 Nope that is my honest opinion, I've just alays preferred long blow in the wind hair, actually not necessarily straight but wavy/curly. Ever since I began to have hair extentions I've just much prefferred to have that style, prior to that nobody had really said anything hurtful about my natural hair. Its just my preference.
@lovemeloveyou011 dang that must suck to hate the way your hair naturally grows out of your scalp...i'm not even trying to be sarcastic or clever, it just seriously must suck. and must be a burden...
@stop08it It does, I want my hair to grow down to my damn back not stay barely shoulder length, its not worth me going natural unless its long enough for me to straighten and curl it. At the moment, that kinky Brillo pad looking peice of crap is going to be hidden away from the rest of the world.
@lovemeloveyou011 sweet heart, when you're ready to deal with those issues, deal with them. I was just expressing a sentiment, i'm not here to be your therapist or roll around and play in none of that kind of negativity. Good luck in life and self.
@lovemeloveyou011 Any hair type can look ugly if not properly cared for. Kinky curl har grows the same length as any other hair texture on average. HEALTHY HAIR IS GOOD HAIR. No type is any better than any other. be blessed with what the creator gave you.

This made me chuckle, but truth be told it's really sad. We have allowed people to train our minds into thinking it is something wrong with our natural hair.
@BlauwLove Well, I don't need to be protected form the burning sun, I work inside. And I like washing my hair everyday because I like my hair to be clean. But im only defending straight hair from your insults, not insult black hair, I do think it's good that you love it, I just wish that all the black celebrities who relax and wear weave in their hair could feel the same way.
@BlauwLove Look, someone was insulting straight hair which is no better than insulting black hair so i retaliated (and now you are doing the same thing).
I don't need to straighten my hair, it's naturally shiny n straight. Too much straightening can make it dry and damaged, that's a problem iv seen black women have. Well I don't believe in god I think it's just an evolutionary adaption.
@popsicles012: You're wrong. Clearly the vast majority of black women have already made a decision: to wear weaves, perms, and presses. He IS deciding to give a message to his daughters, thereby, telling them what to do by saying it doesn't matter what's on their heads. If that is true, then why make the film? The REAL issue was ignored. Noting positive whatsoever came of this movie.
@HappyHookerTV The way you insult straight hair makes it sound like you're jealous. Because the wide majority of people would choose straight hair over 'nappy hair', like all the celebs who wear weaves and all these shows bout black women relaxing their hair etc. Straight hair is just more shiny and you can run your fingers through it.
@millyybabess Actually natural hair is shinier if you straighten it take a look around youtube. Besides oh we'll it's a trait that God gave specifically to us. Straight hair is a recessive gene and not the first type of hair. Obviously kinky hair is the first type of hair and I will be damn proud to rock it. Ciao.
@millyybabess Oh and I actually think my "nappy" hair is great. It protects my head from the burning sun and it's much much thicker. I won't bald easily and I don't have to wash my hair everyday.
@yaboytreyy mmmmmm and why u think jamaican speak english?? bc of the british colony i guess baby, u have a very oldddddd caucasian heritage, dont foool urself! PURE black race doesnt got straight hair!
@kotapaka maybe for you it's ugly but for me it Shows confidence And Proudness of your Origin And your personality. People like you are the reason Why Black People go to the Salon to perm their hair or buy Wigs And weaves, because those People are scared of a Reaction like yours.
I LIVE IN THAT AREA! THAT'S HIS AND HER HAIR SHOP! I used to go there. Not after I went natural, though and because of their substandard hair. It's Miracle Mile area, not Crenshaw. That area is full of whites, wealthy Jewish whites. Chris Rock's a dumbass. He's funny!
What he fails to mention is, alot of womyn, not just black womyn, do it out of pressure to look good according to male MANdated standards where our whole worth as persons is determined, not just our (sex) appeal. That is why I have a problem with sexual/ street harassment because it reinforces the notion that a womyn's worth is based on her looks and not what she has to offer intellectually and in other areas. Let's not forget that men do not face the sand pressure when it comes down to looks.
I agree......it annoys me when women trying to blame men for their hair complex.....in most cases their mother's had their hair relaxed/in weave before they even hit puberty...why would elementary schoolers be trying to impress boys???
@supahdupahguy81 I'm black with a white mom and I wanted straight hair because all the pretty girls at school had it, all my Barbies had it (even the black ones), and all the pretty people on TV and movies and magazines had it. Kids are not dumb. And I had my first crush in first grade. If you have an afro growing up in an all-white community, you will get laughed at and you will not feel good enough.
I didn't like this movie. It could have brought forth a positive message, but it didn't, and all Chris Rock did was make fun of the issue. The concluding message "It' not what's on your head that matters, it's what's in it." does NOT address the issue. The movie did not reach the conclusion that black hair, NATURAL black hair is beautiful AND it DOES matter. It is not something to be ignored or overlooked, but to be admired, cherished, and proud of.
I feel you, but he didn't want to make that decision. He wanted black women to watch the movie and make a decision themselves, because when it comes down to it, who is he to decide what individuals should or should not do? Whatever they think is right, they will do :)
@babyboom64 I disagree, I'm black and I think 'nappy' hair is ugly, I hate it tbh, it just doesn't look nice at all and its not something that I would ever be proud of.
@BlauwLove Its not cool for me really, I see kinky hair as a curse, why couldn't we just have hair like everybody else I don't get it? Whats the point of having nappy hair? Its disguting to look at and I hate having it on my head, I hate the fact that I have to have hair extentions to make my hair look decent because I don't have naturally long, blow-in-the-wind hair.
@lovemeloveyou011 Wow, I used to want straight hair, but it was because I wanted to be someone I'm not. We have a right to our own opinion, but the truth of the matter is it's probably something deeper than just
"not liking kinky hair". I truly pray that you will embrace who God created you to be including your natural hair. It's nothing wrong with weaves, but to hate the hair that you have growing out your hair is saying you don't like a part of you. Your hair is beautiful!
@Hisgiftofgrace Sorry but I REALLY hate kinky hair its just soo ugly to me :( Plus your right there are many things I hate about myself and there have been many occassions where I've wanted to be someone else or just different but as we're on the topic of hair I just wanted to express myself. Sometimes I feel like kinky hair is a curse or a cruel joke, like I said, WHY does EVERY other race have the same hair texture EXCEPT black people? I don't get it? Words cant explain my disgust.
@lovemeloveyou011 You are crazy for saying that. Every race has something that is unique to them. Whether it's eye color, hair color, eye shape, hair texture, etc; that's what makes the world beautiful. Everybody is different. Why would you want to be like every body?
@IamWhatIam081Kinky hair is definitely 'unique' alight... But there's nothing 'beautifully' unique about it. Gosh its just so damn ugly. The big puffy coiled thing on the top of our heads looks horrific. I'm growing my hair out, but I wouldn't be caught dead with it in its crappy short nappy state, I want it to be long and straightened because thats what looks more attractive to me. Unfortunately, thats the only thing I don't like about being black, is having the grotesque looking afro hair.
@lovemeloveyou011 How sad that you think something GOD gave you that is normal and natural is ugly. It's not a curse, it's not a defect. And until you embrace that part of you that will be with you all of your life, how can you be happy? Clearly, GOD likes nappy hair AND dark skin. He gave both to the first people on earth whom He said were made in His image. Who are you to say He's wrong? And who is anyone else to tell you that your hair is not beautiful? And why would you believe it?
@babyboom64 I don't feel guilty for it sorry, I hate my nappy hair, I despise it and will never 'embrace' it, its annoying that I have to have extensions to have the hair style and texture that I like but when I have that style, I feel so much more comfortable and happy. I don't mean to offend God but I really truley hate my nappy hair, it is ugly to me. From a very young child I've always loved long wavy hair and that will continue to be my preference. Kinky hair is plain horrible thats it.
You can't CATCH sickle cell. It's a genetic anomaly- meaning it's INHERITED only when both parents carry the gene for it. -_-"
And that is really sad. I could understand if they didn't buy the wigs because they honestly didn't know where it came from (as I'm sure they have a factory supplier, or something like that)...but that clearly wasn't the case. They didn't buy it b/c they thought it was ugly. Black hair is beautiful. It is sad to see a black woman so brainwashed...
@malaika326 Thank you im glad somebody else noticed im so freaking tired of people thinking that bc your hair is nappy or kinky that its ugly this really pisses me off
what im really mad about is that he only focused on black women wearing weave..and because we wear weave and perm our hair we are trying to be white which FOR ME couldnt be futher from the truth...i perm and wear weave but because i want to. i dont look at a white girl in envy
Most hair weaves come from India. Some Indian hair comes from Hindu temples where men and women cut their hair in hopes of receiving blessings in life. In one temple in southern India, more than 50,000 people come every day and one ton of human hair is collected. The temple sells the hair and much of this money is used to fund schools and roads. Many Indian women brush their hair two to three times a day to collect fallen hair to sell and support their families.
i hate when the scientist ask "why do they put perm in their hair" and chris replies with "to look white" wtf that's not the reason. there are other reasons why...maybe they want more manageable hair or they want to achieve a certain style that they cant do with their natural hair, etc and black women isnt the only group that wears fake hair all women do
@dollluv21 Its not the whole reason why black women perm their hair but its part of the reason why black women do perm their. The media has put it into our minds that if we have long, silky, straight hair like white women do then we will be beautiful. Back in the 60's i think thats the reason why black women permed their hair, it was their way of being somewhat on the same level of white women.
@Princesss46 i know its just a hairstyle and that not all women perm their hair to look white. I dont perm it to look white but i just think its part of the reason why some of perm our hair.
prior to watching "good hair", i had no clue that black women(and black men) didn't naturally have straight hair. i had always assumed there were black people born with straight hair(example like naomi campbell) like there were black ppl with curly hair.just like the other races. this documentary really opened my eyes to the topic of black hair in general.
@Jacquelyn104 i know now(after watching good hair). before having watched it, i didn't know any better & had assumed she was born with naturally straight hair. lol.
yall motherfucker better shut the fuck up real talk aint shit is sad out here bitxh thats just a fucken movie .. god damn nigga hop off stop hater dont make drama ight just watxh the movie .. and shut you god damn mouth bitxh
I think a man known to have his "jollies" at the expense of Black women is not the person that should be talking about Black hair. What does he know, he's near bald.
Funny how you're finding a way to blame the Black man, instead of focusing on the real point and culprits. You do realize Black men have "Black Hair" too, so why is he trying to only clown Black women. Chris has a proud, educated Black wife and two daughters. He said his daughter asked him a question about their hair, so that was impetus behind this movie. Some Black people are just asleep at the wheel I swear, can fault in nobody else but their own. God help us!
@beatkidjay Blaming THE Black man and blaming A Black man are two different things. Yes he is, was and always has had his jollies at the expense of Black Woman. I don't stand by Chris Rock, there's no reason to.
I assure you that my HUGE fro wearing self in corporate America isn't asleep at the wheel. Being asleep at the wheel is thinking that all Black people are "in your corner" but keep drinking the water my friend, keep drinking the water.
I see nothing wrong with wearing a weave. A woman can have wants she wants on her head whether its fake or real as long it looks good. Why complain? .
This is sad! Especially the ending. And that's why I'm going natural. Imma be walking around with my nappy hair all day everyday, from now on. And Natural black hair IS sexy, depending how strong and healthy it is. Retarded chick at the ending. Seems that some of us are still chained up and believing that our hair isn't good enough. Trust that I will have beautiful healthy nappy hair and it'll be all mine and nobody ever again can say black women can't grow their hair long.
Whoa... dude went off "Nobody wants to look like Africa??" Is that nice?

It is sad in just the way that Black women would become sad when they
saw Black men choosing to be with White women instead of them in such huge numbers. You know, that feeling of being rejected, not being desired,
and how that can make a Black woman feel - no matter how much she self affirms - that there must be something wrong with her. For me, this movie/doc
was ALL about that phenomena.

I have had my hair relaxed and I am currently natural. I love it! It's thicker, grows faster, and it retains length because it's not damaged like it was when I was on the creamy crack.. And I'm able to save a ton of money as opposed to spending so much on superficial things.
sonicscreamingblue 7 months ago

That's kinda sad... I'm white and I don't think having kinky hair is disgusting or anything. Just because something is different does not make it worse or bad, its just different.
IamWhatIam081 10 months ago

Bottom line is I hate the look of our hair, thats it.
lovemeloveyou011 9 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 because of your environment and the lack of social acceptance black culture has, its being brainwashed unless thats your honest opinion. I actually think straight hair is worse, it shouldn't be about some stupid misconception of beauty if deep down your doing it to conform then your just wearing a mask
tubetime3 9 months ago
@tubetime3 Nope that is my honest opinion, I've just alays preferred long blow in the wind hair, actually not necessarily straight but wavy/curly. Ever since I began to have hair extentions I've just much prefferred to have that style, prior to that nobody had really said anything hurtful about my natural hair. Its just my preference.
lovemeloveyou011 9 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 dang that must suck to hate the way your hair naturally grows out of your scalp...i'm not even trying to be sarcastic or clever, it just seriously must suck. and must be a burden...
stop08it 9 months ago
@stop08it It does, I want my hair to grow down to my damn back not stay barely shoulder length, its not worth me going natural unless its long enough for me to straighten and curl it. At the moment, that kinky Brillo pad looking peice of crap is going to be hidden away from the rest of the world.

@BlauwLove Well, I don't need to be protected form the burning sun, I work inside. And I like washing my hair everyday because I like my hair to be clean. But im only defending straight hair from your insults, not insult black hair, I do think it's good that you love it, I just wish that all the black celebrities who relax and wear weave in their hair could feel the same way.
millyybabess 10 months ago
@BlauwLove Look, someone was insulting straight hair which is no better than insulting black hair so i retaliated (and now you are doing the same thing).
I don't need to straighten my hair, it's naturally shiny n straight. Too much straightening can make it dry and damaged, that's a problem iv seen black women have. Well I don't believe in god I think it's just an evolutionary adaption.
millyybabess 10 months ago
@popsicles012: You're wrong. Clearly the vast majority of black women have already made a decision: to wear weaves, perms, and presses. He IS deciding to give a message to his daughters, thereby, telling them what to do by saying it doesn't matter what's on their heads. If that is true, then why make the film? The REAL issue was ignored. Noting positive whatsoever came of this movie.

uwillluvthelastdrop 11 months ago
@HappyHookerTV The way you insult straight hair makes it sound like you're jealous. Because the wide majority of people would choose straight hair over 'nappy hair', like all the celebs who wear weaves and all these shows bout black women relaxing their hair etc. Straight hair is just more shiny and you can run your fingers through it.
millyybabess 11 months ago
@millyybabess Actually natural hair is shinier if you straighten it take a look around youtube. Besides oh we'll it's a trait that God gave specifically to us. Straight hair is a recessive gene and not the first type of hair. Obviously kinky hair is the first type of hair and I will be damn proud to rock it. Ciao.

@millyybabess Oh and I actually think my "nappy" hair is great. It protects my head from the burning sun and it's much much thicker. I won't bald easily and I don't have to wash my hair everyday.

Kids are not dumb. And I had my first crush in first grade. If you have an afro growing up in an all-white community, you will get laughed at and you will not feel good enough.

LMAO @ "sickle cell"...
supahdupahguy81 1 year ago
I didn't like this movie. It could have brought forth a positive message, but it didn't, and all Chris Rock did was make fun of the issue. The concluding message "It' not what's on your head that matters, it's what's in it." does NOT address the issue. The movie did not reach the conclusion that black hair, NATURAL black hair is beautiful AND it DOES matter. It is not something to be ignored or overlooked, but to be admired, cherished, and proud of.
babyboom64 1 year ago
@babyboom64
I feel you, but he didn't want to make that decision. He wanted black women to watch the movie and make a decision themselves, because when it comes down to it, who is he to decide what individuals should or should not do? Whatever they think is right, they will do :)
popsicles012 11 months ago
@babyboom64 I disagree, I'm black and I think 'nappy' hair is ugly, I hate it tbh, it just doesn't look nice at all and its not something that I would ever be proud of.
lovemeloveyou011 11 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 Oh that's cool for you. I will rock what God gave me and be damn proud of it.
BlauwLove 10 months ago
@BlauwLove Its not cool for me really, I see kinky hair as a curse, why couldn't we just have hair like everybody else I don't get it? Whats the point of having nappy hair? Its disguting to look at and I hate having it on my head, I hate the fact that I have to have hair extentions to make my hair look decent because I don't have naturally long, blow-in-the-wind hair.
lovemeloveyou011 10 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 Wow, I used to want straight hair, but it was because I wanted to be someone I'm not. We have a right to our own opinion, but the truth of the matter is it's probably something deeper than just
"not liking kinky hair". I truly pray that you will embrace who God created you to be including your natural hair. It's nothing wrong with weaves, but to hate the hair that you have growing out your hair is saying you don't like a part of you. Your hair is beautiful!
Hisgiftofgrace 10 months ago
@Hisgiftofgrace Sorry but I REALLY hate kinky hair its just soo ugly to me :( Plus your right there are many things I hate about myself and there have been many occassions where I've wanted to be someone else or just different but as we're on the topic of hair I just wanted to express myself. Sometimes I feel like kinky hair is a curse or a cruel joke, like I said, WHY does EVERY other race have the same hair texture EXCEPT black people? I don't get it? Words cant explain my disgust.
lovemeloveyou011 10 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 You are crazy for saying that. Every race has something that is unique to them. Whether it's eye color, hair color, eye shape, hair texture, etc; that's what makes the world beautiful. Everybody is different. Why would you want to be like every body?
IamWhatIam081 10 months ago 2
@IamWhatIam081Kinky hair is definitely 'unique' alight... But there's nothing 'beautifully' unique about it. Gosh its just so damn ugly. The big puffy coiled thing on the top of our heads looks horrific. I'm growing my hair out, but I wouldn't be caught dead with it in its crappy short nappy state, I want it to be long and straightened because thats what looks more attractive to me. Unfortunately, thats the only thing I don't like about being black, is having the grotesque looking afro hair.
lovemeloveyou011 10 months ago
@lovemeloveyou011 How sad that you think something GOD gave you that is normal and natural is ugly. It's not a curse, it's not a defect. And until you embrace that part of you that will be with you all of your life, how can you be happy? Clearly, GOD likes nappy hair AND dark skin. He gave both to the first people on earth whom He said were made in His image. Who are you to say He's wrong? And who is anyone else to tell you that your hair is not beautiful? And why would you believe it?
babyboom64 10 months ago
@babyboom64 I don't feel guilty for it sorry, I hate my nappy hair, I despise it and will never 'embrace' it, its annoying that I have to have extensions to have the hair style and texture that I like but when I have that style, I feel so much more comfortable and happy. I don't mean to offend God but I really truley hate my nappy hair, it is ugly to me. From a very young child I've always loved long wavy hair and that will continue to be my preference. Kinky hair is plain horrible thats it.
lovemeloveyou011 10 months ago

You can't CATCH sickle cell. It's a genetic anomaly- meaning it's INHERITED only when both parents carry the gene for it. -_-"
And that is really sad. I could understand if they didn't buy the wigs because they honestly didn't know where it came from (as I'm sure they have a factory supplier, or something like that)...but that clearly wasn't the case. mzjunebug10 1 year ago
Many Indian women brush their hair two to three times a day to collect fallen hair to sell and support their families.

dollluv21 1 year ago 2
@dollluv21 Its not the whole reason why black women perm their hair but its part of the reason why black women do perm their. The media has put it into our minds that if we have long, silky, straight hair like white women do then we will be beautiful. Back in the 60's i think thats the reason why black women permed their hair, it was their way of being somewhat on the same level of white women.

@thebestreddress
