  • i've often been on a plane with heavy turbulence during an approach, worse than this. Coming into London on a windy wet winters day it pretty bad..

  • only way to find out if there is turbelence is to open up the door

  • XD

  • wooo roller coaster

  • That's not heavy turbulence and if you're scared you're a little pisswad. If the wings were flapping up and down 6 feet and your asshole became your eyesocket, that was heavy.

  • @androidblows1369 ....could you possibly be more offending? ....(don't answer, I'm sure you can.....)

  • thats more like a 734 not 737

  • @MelnDyl2010 tuifly is only cooperating 738 and 737 ;) there was a time they had a 733 but look and the wings and those tips. its a 737NG so it has to be a 737-700

  • is that a really dirty wing or, just paint o.O

  • I love flying but what I can't understand is how an airoplane can drop hundreds of feet in an air hole and not break the wings!.

Can anybody tell me why?. I know airoplanes are strong and that the wings designed to bend but to drop 1000ft and still be whole is amazing.

  • @Njugglesvatn First off, there's no such thing as an airpocket or "hole" (although people commonly use these terms). Air is present everywhere - except in space. But the air in the sky is constantly moving and shifting. In fact, we refer to this as air currents because the air moves in a very similar fashion to water currents on a river. When planes drop, it's normally because of a downdraft (an updraft can cause a plane to gain altitude). Airframes are made to bend and are very strong! :)

  • @InfiniteAkasa , Ah, thanks that is very interesting and I had never thought about downdraft or updraft.

    Thanks for the info!.

  • looks a small turbulence

  • If you would stop shaking the camera, the turbulence will stop.

  • seems like there is alot of wind shear going on...did they make a turn around before landing.....

  • That's not a 700

  • Your mother farting now that was turbulence.

  • @bordercollie1975 are u 12 ??

  • @TheBestAirplane Why, that is a very dangerous question.

  • thats in my country - croatia

  • Fuck that!!

  • Flying over Berlin in 1942 now that was turbulence!!!

  • This is just a bit of "bura" or "bora" - north-easterly wind over Rijeka and Kvarner bay (Croatia), while the aircraft is approaching the airport situated on the nearby Krk island. Quite usual for Adriatic, the wind is blowing from the mountains northeast of Rijeka and islands, typically gusting at 10-40 knots during nice weather. VERY NICE video - wonderful panorama over the city harbor and Kvarner bay, southwest of Rijeka.

  • A man and a woman are sitting next to each other on a trans-atlantic flight in a Boeing 747-400. The aircraft encounters severe turbulence and the man, looking out the window at the wing bouncing around, gradually looks more and more worried.

The woman, noticing, says "Don't worry, I'm a flight attendant and this is perfectly normal."

He replies "Miss, I'm a Boeing engineer and we didn't design the wing to do what it's doing right now."

  • actually this didnt look very rough. Too bad you cant experience turbulence as the pilot navigated around the thunderstorms cause the plane, a Convair 580, didnt cruise at 35000 ft. That and a little wind shear in a Stratocruiser or a Super Constellation, where when you dropped, you DROPPED! Plane was fine of course, pilots definitely in control---but it can be just a taste entertaining.

  • this is scary when you see the water

  • I don't know why people are afraid of Turbulence, it's just air...if it was Windshear or Microburst, then yeah shit yourself, but Air is the job of the plane!

  • I live in Rijeka, it looks like you are going to land into water on final approach

  • If the plane ain't upside down, it ain't turbulence.

  • The only thing scary about this is the fact that I lost 3:04 of my life looking at the wing of an airplane

  • @southsidecentralLA airplane enthusiasts look at these kinds of videos for hours, and we love videos like this from the wing. You know how a lot of people go, damn look at that corvette? or damn, look at that Lamborghini? Well we go, damn, look at that 747, or, damn look at that a340-600, or damn, look at that wingspan and those winglets.

  • There has been no recorded fatal accident due to turbulence, not during take off, cruise or landing. Only one case involving air pressure change at low altitude, but thats called ground effect. Turbulence - rapid movement of air currents. So enjoy the bumpy ride, makes fun for a dull flight!

  • Quit the crap and give me a fucking parachute!

  • @Filotimos Yeah! I'm sure the airplanes of the futur will have parachutes lol!

  • @valencollection i know they are going fast but they can make a 3 stage shoot

  • @valencollection no they won't. Planes are soooo safe. Way safer than your car. I'm not sure, but your probably safer on a plane than you are here, typing this message.

  • This reminds me landing at ARN in Q400 NextGen...

  • Not a well looked after plane judging by the colour of the wing.

  • What's that splatter on the window?

  • @Arceus1842 Ice, most likely, built up during the flight 8D

  • Worst landing i had.... i could see the scared faces of some fisherman when we were banked like 60 degrees about 30 meters over the water on turbulence.....

i always smile when i remember that

  • It sounded kind of scary. I could hear the nervous laughter from the passengers unless I am wrong. I can't judge whether it was really bad or not since I was not on the plane. I can only go by what I either see or hear. Interesting video though.

  • its always the little kids who laugh when turbulence hits, not knowing they could possibly die... HAHAHHA

  • @xAmRcNx The odds of them dying on a flight are way less than the odds they'll get killed on the way to or from the airport. You obviously know nothing about flying, so think before trying to give it a bad name in front of thousands of youtube users.

  • Oh my God !!!

I can see some parts of the wing move !!!

    lol

  • @KawamaAmigo thats the ailerons.

  • Puddle Jumpers are the worst when it comes to feeling turbulence. XD

  • i think its really a 600 series 737 *No winglets*

  • @pCf96 some 600/700/800 have no winglets - Easyjet don't have any on the few 737-700's they have left

  • try flying from dubai to sydney, a literally impossible flight without some form of bad turbulence, fkn equatorial storms

  • That's not turbulence the person just can't hold the camera right..

  • @MrLandrover21 no just not cool

  • whats that thing on your window"

  • I've experienced two aborted landings - one due to landing gear problems and the other due to severe turbulence (in which we had to divert from Philly to Allentown). More recently, we were landing at Reagan National and had to divert to Dulles - also due to severe turbulence. Ya, some people refuse to fly with me, lol. But this is one of the better videos in terms of clearly illustrating the moderate chop. Shows spoiler movement and wings rocking. Bumpy ride to be sure. Thanks for sharing

  • @Neptuneaus Oh yeah? Well I have experienced two abortions!

  • I have had something similar when landing at Newark Airport in New York. There was a very heavy wind which resulted in a massive turbulence. I got a little sick after it, but I managed to keep my lunch inside my stomach lol

  • OMG!!

  • Turbulence is only scary when the wings fall off.

  • @Beamernator i hate it when the wings fall of. happened to me three times already... after that i always need to change my pants. freaking turbulences..

  • @Beamernator You mean NEVER. That's practical impossible but anyways, people are always scared of turbelence

  • Comment removed

  • Beamernator...How many wingless planes have you flown on?

  • true that

  • @Beamernator Turbulence doesn't make wings fall off. They are designed to bend to adjust to what is going on.

  • @SillyRamaBubbles Haha duh. I am a pilot. I said that for the hell of it.

  • quite dirty wing...

  • ive been through much worse, but this was pretty bumpy

  • THis is very beautiful scenery, what country is this Rijeka TUIfly in please? Thanks for posting this, very beautiful

  • @HeartBrokeDownBlue TUIfly i a plane Company..^^

  • they need to wash the wing.

  • its always like that their.. so get used to it

  • turbulence means your still alive

  • Hehe..the same happened to me too when i was flying from Norway to Rijeka..i was going on vacation to Bosnia but when Turbulence in rijeka scared me omfg i was scared like shit..it was worst than this..srry for my english lol

  • Oh god, I think I would've passed out. I'm clearly not one of those people who enjoy turbulence, like some of the people in the background noise of the video.

  • Yea, the winds are pretty heavy there. I was on a ferry one day in August 2k9, there was a pretty heavy storm..

  • now thats what the best flight money can buy lol

who wants a dull pleasant flight

  • There is a better video of this same go around its full 10 mins /watch?v=X40F40mIDGk&feature=player_embedded#!

  • ohhhhh man that looks intense

  • this is why I get drunk when I fly.

  • Ash Ash, its Dust Dust yeah Dust

  • I feel you brother... looks no fun...

  • the worst part is that crappy dirty wing... that would really make me feel unsafe in turbulence!

  • i freak out in any turbulancde .. and i would even more if the plae i was on had a dirty ing like that.. looks like it caught on fire :O

  • i would have been praying to whole time.

  • It's an Airquake!

  • i get extremley nervous when it comes to turbulence so i would be shitting my pants on this flight :/ lol

  • @toxicgirligirl me 2.. i pray when turbulance hits haha .. and freak out :L .. hate flyiing bt love airports xD

  • I love Croatia!

  • wow ! 1:41 that must be a rough one

  • Yeah, that does look a little rough. I guess I would be slightly nervous. Although, I am sure the pilots encounter this frequently.

  • Lots of nervous laughs.

  • that wasnt dangerous turbulance. turbulance isnt dangerous. the plane was barely moving. even though the sets probably were. I love flying

  • Yah, bora must be the worst wind to be lading in. Chances speed and direction like a mad housewife ...

  • I say if ever there are turbulances and the pilot or auto pilot resorts to using spoilers to stabalise the plane...the turbulances are serious

  • ive had this turbulence before cept it was like a roller coaster at the top of the climb going down real fast all of a sudden and a bumb and the next the u know ur going straight instead of up or down then bumpy tracks

  • the spoilers are all normal

  • I wouldn't be looking out the window if I were scared, I would probobly be curled up into a little ball crapping my pants lol...

  • HOLY CRAP!!!

  • crap

  • wow

  • These are some strong cross winds usually which are there sometimes during the turbulent landings ,i myself experienced a very bad one once which i did not have a believe that it would happen here while it was clear no cloud in the sky day with bright afternoon sun coming down into DUBAI airport it was so heavy that the airplane was almost struggling to maintain the altitude and the descend into the runway.

  • this is one of the first video where you can actually see some turbulence and I saw a lot ,because don't like turbulence ,it gives me the creeps and in 5 days we gonna take a plane...

  • there isnt anything to worry about ive been on 27 planes out of those 27 1 made my stomach turn

  • @123hahaurdead

you've only been on 27 planes?

  • @DeathMetalShredd666 i am only 12 years old

  • @123hahaurdead and i am not caring.

  • @kobebryant417 i wasnt fucking talking to u bitch

  • @123hahaurdead hahaha its just ur comment was so random

  • @123hahaurdead lol my brother is 12 and he flies on about 8 planes a year

  • I HATE TURBULENCE, gives me motion sickness! I hate to see the spoilers go up so many times, it makes me think how hard the pilot is trying to keep the wings level, so many adjustments....

  • the spoilers are only used to slow the aircraft down i think you ment the ailerons those are used to for steering

  • Comment removed

  • its far from random mate

  • Spoilers can be used in banking and descent control too. They disrupt the flow of air around the wing and therefore decrease lift, pushing down the wing much more rapidly than an aileron. The use of large control surface movements made by the stick in turbulent situations will also control them.

  • @OrangeFreeStateFlyer thats right, it slows the aircraft because of the less smooth flow of air over the wings

  • spoilers are also used to steer the plane to not just the ailerons

  • Not a hate comment, but false information.

Spoilers are use for increase in decent and slowing the plane in air. Spoilers do not steer the plane, only ailerons, rudders, and elevators.

  • no your wrong the spoilers work along side the ailerons. the spoilers increase drag on the wing helping it bank fast than want an aileron can by itself.

  • if your a firtclasspassenger you wouldn't see the spoilers or the wing at all as of matter of fact you'll be the first one to die if it crashed lol just kidding.

  • Actually, I meant that I don't like to see the spoilers AND the ailerons go up and down, so abruptly and frequently; this disturbs me because the pilots almost never have to make this many adjustments on smooth approaches. So I can usually guess when motion sickness is heading my way...

  • @firstclasspassenger: The ailerons mean that the plane is turning....so because of the strong turbulence the plane needs to turn back on course or you will miss the runway. This is normal!

  • makes sense, good to hear..

  • i know i would have been sweating bullets on that plane lol

  • Looks like a nice.....clean....wing......=|

  • hah..

  • olympic air pilots were all previously in military..thats why greek pilots are the best ;)

  • idk if your aware of this or not but 80% of our pilots were captains in the airforce or navy flying flighter jets.

  • sure they are :P

  • i had a flight like this just after taking off from Nice with school it was well scary and i hate flying which doesn't help

  • Turbulance is nature reminding us who is in charge

  • @bus140808 Yes, the pilots are in charge.

  • @cesario7777 hahahahahahaha

  • @bus140808 amazing comment dude!!

  • @Valef0r Thanx! :)

  • i just got off a plane we had some really heavy turbulence when the captain was telling us to fasten our seatbelts his voice was shaking and people started getting really scared x(

  • Ugh. Nothing worse than noticing a Pilot is scared.

  • lol ur full of shit , pilots are never scared of turbulence , you cant imagine the training they do while doing military flights.

  • proof

  • Since when have all airline pilots done service in the military?

  • id be shiting myself

  • oh That's really dangerous turbolence.

have you a good landing and take off?

  • Landing was okay..takeoff later from Pula because the plane was diverted i had a 2hour bustour;-)

  • How do you know it's dangerous? Are you an expert in aircraft design & weather? No you haven't so shut your mouth.

  • @ppsh42 turbulence is not dangerous. planes are made to handle that sort of thing. :)

  • this isnt dangerous turbulence!its bearly light turbulence mabe light/moderate at some point. Its probally due to the wind direction.Looks like the wind is sligthly from the innland coming of the mountains! But dangerous!nooo!

  • @kongen09 'tis most likely the wind coming from the ocean.
