Is this your arrangement? Do you know where I can get a copy? Lovely flow. Voice leading is excellent! Touch and tone are up there. You and the J. Smith are a good match!
Man you are fortunate indeed to have studies with Ted. I also notice that you have GREAT taste in guitars. I think the Johnny Smith model is the best guitar Gibson ever made.
This is exactly the level I'm pushing towards, and imagine it is about one year away...liked and was waiting for the little george benson hammer ons...great development in this playing...opening up like that...
Here is a bit of some malicious commentary: this is pathetically, horrifically, horrendous; here's a bit of some complementary commentary: this is beautifully, artfully, phenomenal.
you have successfully identified the extremes of possible commentary...what comment are you actually leaving along the continuum of horrific to phenomenal?
I have seen all your videos and realy like your playing and sound, i play a 1957 gibson Es-175 and have thought about buying another guitar. How much diffrence is there between a solid and a ply top? and what about minihumbucker vs. full size humbucker. And what about the diffrence between mounting the pickup at the end of the neck as opposed to the top of the guitar?
Nice playing. However you are off on your facts about the song. Gershwin died in 1937. Ann Ronell wrote the song in 1932. She was romantically linked to Gershwin but was never a secretary. She once worked as a pianist for him, but she had her own career composing film scores in addition to songs and was Grammy nominated for both.
a guitar teacher once told me that and Inever bothered to check. thanks for prompting me to look into it. Sounds like there is speculation about this particular song...she was "with" gerswhin at the time and some folks believe that he gave her the copyright as a gift...it is very "gershwin" but who knows? thanks for the history lesson!
I liked very much of his skill at guitar, his technique is very good and their repertoire also. I like too model of his guitar and the sweet sound...your friend Hilton Serra.
Very good and tasty playing indeed, very nice arrangement is this your own? Enjoyed this very much. Have you ever played through a little mixer than to the audio input of your computer then you can controll your volume and tone better(I work that way) I had to turn the volume of my computer way up to hear you, you're a fine guitarist man, real fine, greets Victor.
This is fine playing. Musician at work.. Please find a room with better acoustics... Or go through an amp, with just a crack of volume. Your playing deserves better sound.. Great..
so warm and lovely. great playing.

Thank you. Did Gene study with Johnny Smith? I have transcribed several of Johnny Smith's solo chord melody arrangements.

I have a feeling that extreme commentary guy is posting this same thing everywhere...that is, until his mother upslaps the side of his head...

I think the last 3 adjectives from moneyquickeasy first comment fit this performance. Just my opinion.

Love the stuff around 1:00. I think it'd sound better with a little bass thrown in but I'm biased :)

This is great solo version. More arrangements please. Also check out my version of this. I play 8 string guitar/bass so there is some bass thrown in.
