Another major plot twist that was in the book but left out of the movie (and crucial for the story line I might add) is the fact that Lady Jessica is the Baron's daughter.

That's kinda the reason why the Bene Gesserit didn't want Jessica to bear a son because they wanted to intermix the genes from the two most powerful families in the universe to "eventually" make the Kwisatz-Haderach. Without that fact, the movie would seem to make absolutely no sense to those that have never read the book.

This version of the Baron is diffrent though in this movie he likes to have those things on his face and look hidieous go figure. But in the books he's still a sadist. the benegesseret Mohem infected him with a disease that was incurable and thus made him fat, But he covered it up by pretending to be a total glutten.
