The Turks sure know how to make a decent, affordable shave soap. Whether you like to face lather or bowl lather, this stuff is very good for the price.
@1xraydoc, Thanks for the kind words!! I wouldn't consider Arko my favorite scent, but I do enjoy it. It is so different from the typical woodsy, sandalwood type masculine scents we are accustomed to in wetshaving. I agree on Vulfix, although I love my Chubbies and M&F's, my Vulfix is still top of the heap and is the softest I have owned.
Ah, so your Cessnabird? Cool, I've read some of your posts. I'm probably the only one, but I think Arko smells exactly like Mr.Glo! just quite a bit stronger yet nobody bashes it. You're right, It lathers like no other. Vulfix is probably the most underrated brush, high quality without the price tag. Thanks..you should make more vids!
I had wound up trading some Rip-Its to some Turks in Afghanistan in exchange for a half dozen sticks of Arko - this stuff lathers so well all you have to do is mention to it that there might possibly be a brush nearby. Lots of people don't care for the soapy smell, which seems to be deliberate lemon scent on top of simply a pure tallow soap smell, but I love it.
@shavefan12 I am glad you tried some Arko, it does lather really well for sure. The scent is clean to me, it's hard to pinpoint it any more detailed than that.
But can you frost a cake with it..lol.....I just started face lathering last week seems to save time. I've been trying to find little shortcuts in my routine as i was taking approx 25 min shaving...and well everyone was screaming for me to get out of the bathroom...Shave, shower, brush teeth approx in hour in the bathroom...
@shavefan12' I am not sure on the tallow part, but it does lather very well as a stick. I lrefer to keep it in a bowl to ease brush loading rather than apply the wet stick to my face.
This was a great video, enjoyed it, I don't think you can beat Arko, I use it a lot myself, great lather, the more you mix the more creamy it gets. I have used Geo Trumpers shaving soap in my latest video...very pleased too. Thanks. Paul. :-)
