@Stakkarskatt You're not only teaching it the wrong way, but you're ignoring the lesson AND teaching it the wrong way. The number is 6 1/2 or 6.5. 6.5 in an improper fraction would be 13/2. You multiply the whole number you are adding to the fraction by the denominator. You add this number to the numerator and keep the denominator. This will give you your new number, or 6 * 2 = 12. 12 + 1 = 13. So it is equal to 13/2.
@DoitiEtok Sorry, but you are wrong. IF the number was 6.5 you would be right, but this problem is notated in a way were you have to see it as 6/1*1/2 * 4/1*1/3.
There´s nothing wrong with mine or your solutions, it´s just that we have solved two different problems.
@Stakkarskatt The way it was done in the video is correct. Neither 6 nor 1/2 is a variable, so they can be written 6 1/2 and still be a single number. This number IS equal to 6.5, because .5 is 1/2 of 1. You don't multiply the 6 and the 1/2 together, you are adding them to get their true value in an improper fraction. This value MUST be equal to what you had before, so multiplying them makes no sense.
Just thought I'd allow you to see the differences in the two signs. a % sign used in any computer language where a / should be located will give you the remainder. Please, just use the correct key.
yeah the mistake is that she doubles the 6 to 12/2 to match the down part of 1/2 and than adds the top but this is a multiplikation so you cant do this, could just write (6/1)(1/2) and there you go. i mean on example 4 she does it right
you sound sick
