Once upon a time I was 16, I had the privilege of not only performing this song in harmony with Andy, but again to perform a rather interesting song, involving a chicken, 18 years later at the Waipara Folk Festival, North Canterbury. He is a New Zealander, who spent many years in the UK, then many more travelling the world. A talented singer/songwriter, original and unique....
I had the pleasure of seeing Andrew play twice, once I got to talk to him and he's a true blue magnificent person. I don't think he really took a shine to me though, as I said I had almost downloaded his album (without specifying I meant 'buying' on Itunes, I realized as I walked away)... but hey, what can you do.
is there a nice man, who can write me the text? sorry, i don't understand all of the lyrics but it would be so great to know, what he sings exactly. thank u very much!
If this guy could get together a killer backing band he would be an awesome frontman and I can totally hear this song orchestrated and Transcribed for a whole band. It would be Sweet, But no disrespect to the genius above, and his solo talent
if any other famous "shit" singer would sing the same song as this one im sure the views right now would be more than few millions..thats the pity in the music life..
they hear music because of a name & not because of the quality..
thanks god they r few people that still r listening with their heart..
@sebastian6385 it would matter to Andrew White, because he's a lot less rich than he deserves to be.. but I couldn't care less how many people listen to that other trash as long as I can find the good stuff
@xXConfuocoXx But he's got the moustache an everything...Plus he's singing about unemployment and poverty, refering to what I assume is his son as "Hocico" or something. Regardless, this song is audibly erotic.
its good to see the chords i use alot can sound this wonderful. it must be nice to be able to inspire and help people progress in music, its what this song has done for me. thanks for sharing your music, it really is class A material
my inglish is so poor and i want to know wath this amazing artist said because i can understand all the lirics, i really love if someone sendme the lirics of this song
did something happen during his childhood that made him a story with this theme? don't get me wrong, it's an awesome song and i love it, just wondering what drove him to write it
It´s my song of the last week, probably heard it 50 times minimum! And always will be hearing! No doubt, this is great, and i´m so sorry for people that don´t see that! Oh, how boring and sad their life must be, i don´t even want to imagine! What a great guy, great voice, great lyrics! Good luck, man!
Because people are idiots and wait to be spoon fed their pop music then when a genius comes around they either take him or her for granted or ignore them.
@terrorstinkt It's a matter of choice and taste friend. I hate main stream music as well, not because it's main stream and i'm an indie snob, but because it sucks. But at the end of the day people will listen to whatever makes them feel good.
i like his music. i really do, but his songs(meaning w/ lyrics) are not so very different from that of mainstream artists. he uses rather simply chords most of the time, and pretty much the same combination of chords in every song. the only things different is the lyrics, which i do like more than anything here. i can see why he doesn't get REALLY famous.
his instrumental pieces are on a whole different level though.
dont think your so spot on there: victory road, holy island, st patricks day and a few more are not standard chord songs, he finger picks largely in those ones. he's got a great ear for music and puts great compositions together. he's pretty much a folk musician, and last time i checked, most of them dont get so famous
@terrorstinkt He doesn't do it for fame or money, he does it because he loves it. Money and Fame carrys alot of difficulties/expectations/paprazzi etc.
I'm just happy Candy Rat lets us see it through Youtube.
@DrrTrevis but ppl like him, that gave ALL what they have to music, and get this music. Needs to get rewarded with something I think. But if he's happy or if he doenst need nothing right now..its k. The thing is that im sure much ppl like him(good ppl at music) are poors or something so.. It's a pitty
@terrorstinkt Dude, I think that's quite alright. If a gem like this guy gets to the mainstream people his music will get fucked. Let him work a 9 to 5 job and play gigs in the weekend. He swings the scepter in a way he does. We don't need this guy on MTV
@terrorstinkt because most of humanity dont actually like music its just what they here in the car or at a club, they would never dream of listening to music as something to do
@terrorstinkt Its because people that can shape feeling and talent into a song as beautiful as this aren't willing to whore out their gift to corporations whose primary interest is making money. These artists understand that making music is about capturing human emotion wether it be love, sadness or even happiness and then convey this to other humans.
Wow ! Definate a good performance ! Nice strong half sort of rough voice, good guitarwork and everything under control. 5 stars from me ! Regards, Anna.
