  • What Johnny Cash was saying is "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" when you are cast into outer darkness on judgment day. (Matthew 8:12). Unless people repent they're gonna get it.

  • thank you Johnny Cash foryour music , it will live on forever!

  • Nice, simple video. Awesome song! Thanks!

  • so fuckin´ cool!!

  • One of the best records of all time. One of the best artists in the history of like, EVER. <3

  • A masterpiece. what is on the other side?

  • Wow...what a flash back , thanks to my late father, I grew up listening to Johnny Cash. I remember watching The Johnny Cash show every Wednesday night at 8:00, where I first heard Bob Dylan. All I can say is WOW and Thank you!

  • @collect45 thank you so much for posting this!!! =)

  • your house is huge

  • Today I am introducing my 13 yr old nephew to rock 'n roll...had to start by explaining those Rebels from Sun records. 20 minutes on johnny cash ,1/2 hr on Roy Orbison,15 on Elvis,10 Carl Perkins and 10 more on Jerry lee...Soon he will know real musik and true feeling behind the words.Thank you Sun for the opportunity.

  • @Jonscreem my son wants a guitar for his birthday. I cant wait to get him one and introduce him to Mr Cash.

  • @Jonscreem Good man how did it go lol

  • @Jonscreem in those days, a lot of people still didn't have T.V. all they had was a radio(maybe) An entertainer had to have the ability to (grab you) through the expression of how they sounded, cause that's how they were first heard by most people....(Oh to see what a young Elvis, Johnny, Or Jerry Lee could do with today's technology)

  • To little time for all of those. Start in the 30s and work your way up. That way he will learn the evolution of music and recognize how the styles evolve into each other. A good collection is the Mafia II videogame soundtrack as it contains very good songs from the 20s to the late 40s, and the music that the artists you mentioned made can already be recognized in the older songs. I just learned that myself a few months ago and was very surprised, so I suggest everyone to listen to it.

  • i want that record !

  • im 16 years old. and i fricken love Johnny Cash.

  • @bwrolson DITTO... cept a year below you

  • @SunStudioSessions The most important recording studio in human history. It'd be insanely amazing and humbling to record there.

  • @SunStudioSessions That's incredibly cool for you to say that.

  • Great! Farewell man in black!! Too sad he never came to wear a suit of white.

  • @seminont77 he did as the gates opened

  • amazing. simply amazing. thanks forever for putting this up!! never heard this recording before!!

  • Sounds just great Thanks!

  • Have some of my Mom's old Johnny Cash records. He was her favorite. She told me that she saw him in concert several times in the 50's and 60's. My dad had the slicked -back dark hair (from pictures) and looked a little like Johnny-probably why Mom fell for him. (lol)

  • Nothing like vintage vinyl wish walmart sells vinyl again

  • IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME TO RIDE AROUND LISTENING TO JOHNNY CASH!!!! :) I LOVE HIM

  • Rock on Johnny!! Great song writer, amazing voice. We miss music like this. R.I.P.

  • R.I.P Man in Black!

  • Thank you.

  • With all the music out now, CD, Tape, Mp3, nothing will ever be as personal as a record player. I didn't even grow up with one, but the only way to get to me with music is through a record. Vinyl over CD any day.

  • There are no words to describe how badass this is. I will say that putting his early music on CDs later does give a better representation of his naturally baritone voice, but this fucking rocks.

  • 8 people will cry, cry, cry! ¬¬

  • Johnny Cash is the man.

  • love the guitar

  • Sort of sounds like you are playing it too fast

  • I would never play this

  • I like his younger voice much more than the older voice...

  • @Spyflugan91 my oppinion is, his voice was like wine, it got better with age,

  • @temper616 haha yeah! Maybe :P

  • nice piece of music history:)

  • @adrianmrmonk

The first recordings he released were "Hey Porter" and "Cry Cry Cry"

  • @adrianmrmonk

The first recordings he released were "Hey Porter" and "Cry Cry Cry"

  • He's simply a legend, never be forgotten

  • Wow this johnny guy just might become a great singer !

  • In all seriousness, Bob Dylan needs to be honored at the VMA's or at the Grammy's for his work. It needs to be done while we still have him here with us. It would of been cool if Johnny Cash was shown such appreciation when he was alive - the same for Ray Charles, George Harrison. The music world today only pay tribute when they pass on.

  • @Nymby13 I totally agree with you...

  • really awesome

  • brazil loves Johnny!!!

  • This is on my first Mixtape

  • good sound, sounds how it should instead of the tinny reprocessed sound.

  • wow, this video has a FEELING!

  • The feeling of a real old classic and pure nostalgica for the old days =D

  • just watched walk the line for the first time got it for my birthday today and there you go you posted this two years ago to the day cheers friend

  • great oldie from johnny,a true legend in music history.tell me anyone who has never heard of him

  • yea thats hank snow there ya moron

  • ...gReaT...n0thin' eLse............!!!

  • Thats how its supposed to sound.

  • appreciated very much, johnny's the best

  • the semi-original "step off bitch" song

  • Thanks for the Video, I love that people put those great old records up on here! Thank you for your effort! :)

  • I'm glad you liked it, thank you.

  • @JohnnyBoy501 agreed, nice work

  • @JohnnyBoy501 Thanks you for making us feel a little happier...!

  • my grandpa listened to this back in the day...

  • if this is how he sounded originally then WOW! sounds so much better!

  • I expect the recording is much better than this microphone-and--record reproduction. I have a copy of his Teenage Queen ...that I especially like (also on Sun) but would trade for something West Texas.

  • 1955

  • in what year did he publish the record?

  • @Cal3bH1996 1955

  • 1954

  • Realy great... Must be worth some money

  • best

  • After hearing this song I started to collect Johnny Cash songs in 2004. They just don't let me go anymore...

  • The youthfulness of voice... its so refreshing.

  • Excellent!

  • download to my ipod

  • Was this his first record??? o

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeess...

  • The flatliners do an AWESOME cover of this song!

  • cuz they've cut out all of the extra sound when they redo it over and over in other recording studios.

  • awesome, gives me chills still....

  • how come my ipod doesnt give that reverb?! :(

  • After JC signed with Columbia in 1958, Sun records continued releasing recordings from their backlog of unreleased material, some of which outsold the Columbia recordings. When those ran out, Sun reformatted Cash's earlier works, adding backup vocals and reverberation. This record is a later post-Columbia release; you can tell by the addition of reverb.

  • yup, its upsettingg

  • Wow! That is superb sound from a 45 rpm!! Can it play 78's? I noticed the adapter for the 45. This is truly OUTSTANDING!! Thanks ten thousand fold for posting!!!

  • johnny cash is awsome

  • oh thats fucking good

  • the original, vinyl record
