sorry about your lost. i bought my daughter a russian dwarf hamster in sept and grew really attached the the little fur ball. her hamster recently passed away this past sunday and it freaked me out how hard i took it. i guess cause im the one that cleaned her cage, fed her and played with her all the time. i still cant bring myself to clean out her cage. my wife suggested getting another one to help me get over this one, but i dont know if im ready yet
I really believe animals choose their owners in a way we don't understand yet. For some it means living a longer life than they would have had, while others participate in the larger issues that define and demonstrate how animals of differing species can have and hold love for each other.
I'm just happy and glad to have shared in the love and life of all my pets who have died of old age with me. I'm close to 60 and have had no less that over 100 pets in my life.
My hamster died Friday Feb.3/12.She kept lying down and breathing heavy.When she stood up, she wobbled,we took her to the vet that Friday and put her to sleep.And we left,so hard when we said goodbye.When we were waiting for the vet in a room.We put her down and it looked like she was trying to tell us we were doing the right thing.She was in a lot of pain.I cried after that whenever I think about her.When I saw the stars that night, I knew she was a star.We love you Lily!!!RIP LILY

This Hamster may not be sick... hamsters easily fall into a "Hibernation state" with just a slight change in temperature. It takes a few hours to bring them out of it with heat and electrolytes in the water (sugar in water) BUT if this hamster passed away on it's own it's possible I'm wrong.
itlooks very cute and sorry iit died in that situation. it is a cute hamster andd u want it t to live forever ...... but eventually they just get an ilnes like the one that makes you freezing until you are dead also it looked like it was a very close friendship with your little hamster it didnt want to leave you! it loved you.
@DanielRibena Yes. The Dr. said there is nothing he can do except try to hydrate her. There wasn't anything wrong with her that he could tell... we had her for about a year and a half and I don't know how old she was when we got her at the pet store... :(
Daisy died a few weeks after this video was taken in 2004. She still looked so cute and was curled up like she was sleeping. My family buried her in a tin box, deep in a state protected forest.

Saying goodbye is never easy. One never realizes how hard it is to say goodbye until that last day comes. One thing I do know is that I never told her enough how much I loved her. I know it's too late now to hug her and love her more but the day will come when Kalee her sister and I are all united again in heaven. God is the only one that feels the pain in my heart and how I long to hold her again.
