@quinni123 oiling the length of your hair, adding a plastic cap a bonnet and or scarf and letting the oil stay in your hair, by applying the cap it will trap heat to bring out your natural oils from your scalp called sebum the sebum has the nutrients we need for healthier longer hair sometimes the sebum have a hard time traveling to the ends of afro textured hair so that's what the greenhouse effect does and it keeps your hair moisturized like deep conditioning overnight just with oil

I've been doing the ghe since Aug 24, 2011- Present. Everyday!! I oil my scalp w/ either castor oil or olive oil. Plus I add moisture to my hair(basically, in a 4oz bottle I mix water, oil of choice and megatek & I spray it onto my hair.) Next, I twist my hair in a protective style. I put on my plastic hair bags (sometimes TWO plastic bags). After, I tie my hair. AND I SAW NO RESULTS CONCERNING GROWTH!! :( Bummer! :( However, I notice my hair doesnt break as much!b :) But that's it.

@befitinthirtydays I only saw a little growth but more healthier, moisturized hair and I was absolutely ok with that now I just ghe overnight the day before wash days as a pre poo treatment

@befitinthirtydays I think the point of the GHE (although I've never done it), or for hair growth in general is to leave your scalp alone. The point is to ALLOW your scalp to produce its own natural sebum. Adding oils on top of oils is doing nothing but clogging your pores. Moisturizing your 'hair' is fine to retain length, but you might want to start over with a fresh clean scalp b/c it seems as if you've been doing the GHE wrong since day one.

If you want the ends to have more of a defined curl then I'd suggest putting flexirods in. I am also doing braidouts with my GHE w/ the flexirods. It gives me a beautiful wave with a springy curl on the ends. Check out Fgrogran's video on her braidout with flexirods for an example. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

@Yadubya sometimes I add the cold rods to the ends and it gives me a great look but since I was sleeping with a shower cap and 2 scarves for the greenhouse effect I decided not too, I'm also subscribed to fgrogan and moptopmaven certain hairstyles I could emulate of theirs but there hair is super long

Awww man...you are my favorite hair Youtuber because you keep it real and your hair is about the same length as mine. I love the other ladies on here as well but it's just refreshing when you have someone to watch who hasn't already met their hair goals. What about voice over videos? Is that possible?

@sweetlifecake oh yeah that was something I thought about because after doing my voice over for how I self trim I liked it........It makes me so happy that I'm one of your Favs......and also thats why I started my channel because I see some of the long hair gurus get lots of subscribers I guess people want to know what products they used to make their hair grow but its not products that make your hair grow its actually good haircare practices.......I wanted people to be able to grow with me.

i use mane n tail maximum herbal-gro. it works really good my hair is so thick like when i was younger all the waves are coming back i cant wait til i see how long it get. im goin to get some natural products today so ill do a video on them... but girl did u know cvs where i live (oxon hill md) the got v05 moisture milks for .77 cents... had to get it

I feel your pain!!! I hate when I'm recording a video, my dad has to go to the bathroom all of a sudden!!!! I got to stop what I'm doing then got to take down my tripod (which was perfectly set up and have to re set up again)... My dad does this all the time!!! I prefer recording at my boyfriend's home.
