i just got my big daddy back today after it was stolen 11 years ago. had 2 both stolen. found in a pawn shop for 30 bucks by someone else. offered to me for sale, bought it, when it arrived earlier i knew it was my old one. so i just had to check out some kevin jones vids!
Kevin is the Eddie Van Halen of flatland: he isn't the greatest technician of all time, but he changed the way everyone else does it. In other words, incredibly influential.
First saw the Plywood Hoods in 1987 at GT/Dyno Demo in Rockville, MD... Couldn't believe they were from my hometown York. As a flatlander myself, Martin Aparijo was my favorite... that is until I saw Jones rip him up. The Plywood Hoods changed my life... all of the sudden flatland freestyle wasn't just me alone trying to learn from photos in bmx plus magazine... there were others...
Does ANYONE know where I can find the video from the 1987 AFA Masters in Austin Texas with the clip of Kevin Jones debuting the Locomotive, Elephant Glide, etc? It was an AFA video, and it showed that moment which changed everything. I need it, can't find it.
The Plywood Hoods. Kevin Jones had the entire nation rolling on our front wheels in 1988. The man behind the Elbow-glide, Hang-five, and the Death-truck. Mega-Cool-Ass Footage.
he invented the DUMPTRUCK for chrissakes!!

The footage was from Eddie Roman's "Aggroman", and the location is Pacific Beach in San Diego. I believe the year was '89.
