  • Steve was a grade ahead of me at St. Ambrose College in Davenport. He was ALWAYS at the pool halls which pretty much screwed up his grades. I think he eventually got a BA in education somewhere else. Nice guy, but seriously good at pool.

  • Sears created pool tables in honor of Mizerak. Long live the king of billiards!

  • Steve,how do you do that? Practice,practice,practice.

  • I'm very envious! Wish i could say I got the chance to meet "The Miz", or better yet, play him. He stopped playing the Sands tourny in Reno before I started going up there. But I got to know Buddy Hall and have some very fond memories of him.

  • I had the honor to play Steve a few years back in Melbourne, Fl. It was a hell of a match that I will never forget. Thanks for the memories Miz, I will never forget you or that match. Miz-7 Alien-5. Nice comeback Steve.

  • Steve was a great player from the "hay-day" of pool! Him, Buddy Hall, Nick Varner, ... RIP, Steve... you were a pool icon! I still enjoy watching your videos from The Sands Tourny's in Reno... -CR

  • Wow, that last trick shot was even better than I remember. RIP Steve.

  • I talked to Steve a number of times through the years and he had to audition to get that beer commercial gig. The director felt he was the only pool player that auditioned that could walk, talk and shoot at the same time.

  • I also understand he had to do about 40 takes to get the trick to happen for the camera.

  • More like 191 takes, if I recall correctly.
