Why the intro says, " Coptic Orthdox Church Presents?" Fayrouz isn't Coptic Orthdox. The lyrics could not be Orthodox either and there easily by a theological mistake in the lyrics like most non Orthodox songs about St Mary. Don't link just anything to our Orthodox Church unless it was official sponsored by the Coptic Church. It is also plagairism.

o no da notion of pugartory is not heretical,although there is arguements against it we agree with the notion since we also pray for the dead the thing thats the major issue for us is the idea of the pugartorial fire since you can never be sure what the punishment is.Its a doctrine with a 'condition of waiting" meaning it is unwittenesed in the bible or ancient church so as a more apt description of the period after death for those not borne directly to heaven is known then we can conclude.

oh that's what the western church believes. it doesn't have to be "fire" and quite frankly you can go through it while alive. some people suffer so much that their whole dependence is on God, body and soul, and they let go of their attachments to worldly things. It's amazing, even though they're suffering. maybe we shold dialogue more to avoid misunderstandings eh, lol.

In the translation into English, it's often mistaken to mean "Heaven". What Jesus meant was that the Good Thief would be in the abode of the dead, where the good people who had died prior to the redemption were waiting for the redemption. Heaven was not opened until after the Resurrection.

Is that the Orthodox teaching? That no one will enter Heaven until the Final Judgment? I'm surprised if you are saying that you do not believe that Heaven was opened after Christ's Resurrection and that no souls have gone there yet. Otherwise, we are in agreement that there was an abode of the dead, prior to Christ's Resurrection, where the Good Thief would have gone. Heaven was opened up by Christ's Resurrection but some souls need a purification before entering, hence we have Purgatory.
