Most Japanese food is fried, (Chinese food, too, but I'm not worried so much about chinese food.) yet they're so healthy & they live so much longer than americans. Why is that? Is it because of the variety of food or the kind of food they eat? Do they fry it differently than other cultures? Or does it have more to do with the way they exercise? Or is it just in their DNA or something?

American food actually is fatter than Asian food in generally. If u say, most Japanese food is fried then I'm afraid that U haven't tasted a variety of Japanese food. I agree that they do have fried stuff but then if compared to other fried stuff in the U.S, it's nothing much to worry about. Besides, the vairety of food in a lunch box in Asia makes it more healthy than American food and its much smaller portion makes a big difference too :). Btw, tea, tofu, miso soup, seaweed are healthy too..

I like the varaity in a bento lunch, but I'm a pick eater... I think Rice has a weird texture with not much flavor nor do I like fish, I probably wouldn't do so well in Japan XD Looks tasty though, since it's in Japan I would try it anyway. (Do you like it in Japan?)
