  • Misty, I know in one of your videos, you said what breed of hens you have, but I can't find it again. So, please say again what the breed is that lays one egg per day. The hens I have now give me an egg every two or three days, and they are young....not a breed I want to keep. Thanks.

  • @GrandmaNinaNTheHills We have Golden Reds, but I want to get Buff Orphantings(SP).....Any time....

  • You should be very proud of your kids, I have worked with youth from 7-18 most of my working life and its frightening and unbelievable how many I have met who wouldn't be able nor willing to do the tasks at hand in this video, nonetheless be able to cope without constantly being provided for by parents or fast food! lol Poor misty struggling trying not to get involved, its great! I did however felt absolutely starving after watching this video, its the sound of that sizzling, Yum Yum! Great vid!

  • @ladysmithrose Great thank you....They are good and do not dry out like they do in the oven....

  • That was nice, how many chickens are laying? that bacon was nice and meaty. I use bacon to season our soups lots of beans and split peas. Have been getting a fair amount of kale, swiss chard, carrots , beets and rabe from the garden. so it all goes in the pot. I am going to try to make biscuits on the stovetop like you did. Thanks Misty and Mountain Man and kids for the great video.

  • @TXCoindigger Thank you....

  • @feirdalprincess Thank you!!!

  • I LOVE your videos, and always look forward to "checking in" each morning to see what's going on with you and your precious family... It's wonderful that you share your family and cover so many topics on living a simple lifestyle (how envious I am!) and this pushes me to ask if you could do a few more videos on your cook stoves. Most of us turn on the gas or the electric burner and away we go - but it's not the case with a wood burning cook stove, so please share more...

  • @canadiannee Thank you!!!

  • Good golly that looks good mmmmm ... Tonight we had fried pork chops , stewed tomatoes & okra over rice, beans & biscuits ... Great video :)

  • @tsdub Thank you!!!

    That sounds good....

  • Man what I would give to live like you do. Well I do use a gas stove so that is as close to a flame as I can get. You guys could turn that un to a business. Teach people that want to learn how to do what you do. Yes there are many details but you could get a pretty penny out of it. Clearly something all would need to agree on. Just an interesting suggestion?!!

  • @sassylassy01 Thank you!!!

  • It would be great to see more about the goings on of the chicken house. Many people have no idea how to raise chickens.

  • @shannonsmitification Thank you!!! I have several videos on my chicken pen....

  • That was great

  • @cigarcaptain Thank you.,...

  • Great job..wished i lived next door.!!..lol..God Bless...

  • @DisturbedPrepper Lol thank you!

  • What a nice looking breakfast. I would love to have some home cooking like that!

  • @TheOntarioGardener Thank you....

  • when i was growing up there were 7 of us children...basic math was taugh to us in the kitchen..we all learned fractions and multipication at the stove....it was also a chemistry lesson...the kitchen is the best classroom

  • You have some beautiful and talented girls ;) I could tell that was hard for ya to turn the reins over for a mornin' LOL

  • @HillbillyPrepperGals Thank you, I have to leave the room...lol....

  • There is no greater joy than having your meal with your children, grownig, and raising the food on your table. It is a sweeter treat to have your lovely children prepare this meal with your guidence. Heartfelt wishes of joy and peace to you and yours.

  • @hotmamajil You are so right, thank you!

  • Have you ever tried cooking the entire slab of bacon? I've never done it myself but I have seen on a tv show called Bacon Paradise theres a few restraunts in texas that cook the entire slab and serve it to you to cut however you want I was just wondering how that might taste whether its much greasier than slices or if it tastes any better/worse

  • @ferebeescott211 No I have not, but if I had to feed a whole crew of ppl I might try,

  • Almost 5pm, at work.... I want some!! :)

  • @WeaponsOnTheWeb Lol...thanks!

  • You have wonderful children.. Blessings!

  • @snaps81625 Thank you!!!

  • Its so nice to see kids that really want to learn and be productive!!! You're raising some great kids there!!! Darn now I'm hungry!!!

  • @willkaren4ver Thank you!!!

  • Dang, it is 1 in the afternoon and I now want breakfast again. I do miss those type breakfast I miss them badly

  • @NiteStar131 Thank you!!!

  • I imagine that breakfast tasted even better because it was cooked by your lovely girls. I would really like to try my hand at making those biscuits. Do you think they would turn out as well if cooked over an open fire or perhaps a rocket or deadwood stove?

  • @ssamorgan2044 Thank you!!! I have done it on an open fire before you just have to watch them, and you do not want the dough very wet...

  • Good video! Good breakfast. >>But the video is really about the blessings received from >home-schooling kids in a Christian home. Eight minute long video & NONE of the kids fighting, complaining or whining. No one was a 'buttinski' & No one started an important message with 'Mom, Mom, MOM> You know what??" >>What a Blessing!

I'd bet there is hardly any television watched by the kids & if there is any, it's wholesome programs with no 'snarky' people in it.

A video for all the Churches!

  • @1023471965 Thank you!!!

  • ★★★★★

  • @TheMultiGunMan Thank you!!!

  • Now THAT'S bacon! YUM! All of that looks extra yummy! I need to come to your house for breakfast. LoL!

  • @guns4good Thank you!!!

  • I have been trying to get my daughter to estimate too! I adore your kids Misty! They are so good to you and their daddy. Surely, the Lord has blessed your home to have such a wonderful family. God Bless you!

  • @Woodsygirl62 LOL.....Now sounds like you are cooking....Thank you!!!

  • Awesome!!!! You and Mountainman are doing the best for those kids teaching them to do for themselves at such an early age. The last two-three generations of children would be lost if they had to live as our grandparents in the past. Thanks for sharing as always.
