@scottith1 This is only a preview, but in the video it explains that some of these techniques are secondary follow up to a failed primary disarm attempt. Hope that clarifies.
Not trying to hate--actually I've always been interested in Hwa Rang Do. But these disarms seem overly complex for a situation where you have so little time to react. I'm not saying I know anything about gun disarms, but it seems like a redirect of the weapon trajectory and a blinding move would be the simplest solution. I really don't know, just an observation.
@ZaxNeon These disarms address what you would do when the first attempt fails. Once you decide to disarm a weapon, you must continue to attack the weapon hand in order to fulfill the disarm or imminent death. You have to see the entire technique in context to the instructional series. Hope that clarifies things a bit.
@WCHwaRangDo i saw him change the weapon trajectory, a different camera angle would've shown it better. i practice krav maga and that is what we practice, redirecting the weapon first because once it's redirected it can't hurt you, it's just a noise maker.
The more I learn and see of Hwa Rang Do the more I really like it. I've read the books for the Navy S.E.A.L. combat and I've watched many videos and it still amazes me. I would like to rank in this style, but there's no Dojang here or near where I live that teaches it. Good videos.
Yes, he might look like him, but sorry to say he's not. This is Chief Master Taejoon Lee and the person you are referring to is either a Hong Kong or Japanese actor.
i've never had the chance to handle guns here in australia because of the extremlyy tough laws, if we were going for the disarm and a shot discharges does the barrel of the gun get hot? or is it only after multiple shots?
good... but far to complex

Perfect Instructor like ChosonNinja, both are very good teachers...

@KoreAHNO don't even try to compare choson "faker" to taejoon lee....not even remotely in the same league. Greg Park is a liar, end of story.

is the ending song from the princess mononoke movie? (when the boars launch their main attack)
hakubrokenangel 3 years ago
You're very observant. It is based off the song, but it is our own rendition with our own original sound source.
WCHwaRangDo 3 years ago
ok i thought it sounded a bit different. thanks for the reply. :)
