  • Male NFP here - great video. Very validating to see kindred spirits in the 1%.

  • You're awesome.

I'm an INFP and everything you say is true to me too. I just find it funny that humans can look like they were programmed or something, like the MBTI can classify (albeit its obviously incomplete).. we're complex machines all with different types and thinking processes and it just makes it even weirder in the whole big picture if you think about it..

  • Thank you for sharing your video. It is a very encouraging video. By the way, I am an INFP as well.

  • Thank you for sharing that, I think it takes an amazing amount of guts to support others by sharing something that's personal and a big deal to yourself. You are awesome.

  • @Segnoqua Thank you!

  • you are totally normal and friends aren't what they are all hyped up to be. As long as you find a small niche that you fit into and do what you love you will be fine. My little bro is INFP even though he hasnt taken the test I know. INFp's are cool and creative and spontaneous and whimsical. And being dominant as a man doesnt mean shit.

  • @m3licAst You are right. It's all about perception, about what you compare yourself to. Its easy to put yourself down when you don't fit into the mainstream view of whats normal... but the reality is that normalcy includes a very broad spectrum of healthy, decent people.

  • I loved your video. I am also a male infp, and I was wondering what you do for a living? I am 24 and for the life of me cannot find any direction.

  • @duder142 Thanks! I'm a computer programmer. I have found that programming is actually an intuitive, creative process, and i enjoy creating things that people will use. Its more of an art (to me) than a science. I think that for an INFP or similar type of person, the biggest thing is to find work that you can believe in. If you like what your company does that will make the biggest difference, because you will enjoy being a part of that.

  • It makes me so happy to see this. Really. I'm in the same exact place you are, and it just tickles me pink to see myself and other people realizing that our introversion does not make us defective. Good for you.

  • I have to take this test. Just out of curiosity. Im pretty confident that im an extrovert but I do have social anxiety in certaion sitautions. I also struggle with my self esteem, emotions, depression, and how others view me. But i realized FINALLY that I worry about what others say about me not because I care so much what they think but moreso what i will do with it. Im terrible to myself.

    once again..excellent topic and video.

I have a crazy theory, I think we are all born extroverts.

  • In this context, introversion/extroversion refers to how one gains energy. An extroverted person is energized by social contacts, while an intoverted person is energized by alone time. An intoverted person may really enjoy being around people, but it will tire them out and they will need alone time to recharge. My wife isn't shy at all and really enjoys talking with people, but it wears her out and she needs time alone afterwards. In this system she is an introvert.

  • yes the energy source. I see what your saying now. hmm..its complicated to me this extorvert /introvert label. I need to soak in it some more. I think the lines are thinly drawn or interchangeable. I love being with people and talking to people and it does tire me but Im still not sure that makes me introverted. But then when im depressed i tend to withdraw and socializing is even more exhausting. I just wonder if introvert /extrovert is another label we're buying into. sorry i ramble..lol..

  • Thanks for comments! There seem to some people who truly don't care about social contact, but they are rare. People with SA definately desire social contact, but trouble with getting it due to their anxiety.

You are right though: it isn't really what other people think and say, its all about what we think about ourselves. The reason why the personality thing was so important to me was because of how it helped me start the process of liking myself.

  • I hear what your saying. I like how you said " the process of liking myself" ...thats what i feel i am doing. I feel like im starting over again.

    very cool vids :)
