@rea1high It used to be extrememly bad.  It has gotten better, Just from the 999 to the 1098, the interval between valve checks (the most common service check) has doubled. It is much more affordable to maintain a Duc now.

@Ryosaeba24 You need to do some more homework. The 916 was old in bike age by the time the R1 had come out. It will never kick the R1's ass anywhere. It's far heavier and It has almost 30hp less. It won't turn like an R1 and won't go like an R1. When the R1 was launched the 916 had already been replaced by the 996 with the 998 coming shortly after. Neither kicked the R1's ass.

Where have you been for the last 20 years? Since the Evo motors in the late 80's, Harleys have not leaked oil. They built new factories with new tooling and the engines were completely redesigned to improve reliability, reduce maintenance required and not leak oil. They also decreased vibration by introducing balance shafts and belt drive. This also removed a source of vibration and oil, the rear drive chain. Sounds like your putting shit on Harleys because you don't like them. Neither do I.

Isn't that footage from an old Fast Bikes vid mag? The Ducati is a 998 or similar, not a 1098. R1 is an early 98-99 jobbie.

The Yamaha is a YZF-R1 RN09 from 2002 - 2004, 150 HP meet 204 kilos (with full tank). The RN09 is known for its excellent mid-range power. The Ducati 1098 is a great bike, but it doesn't perform better on twisted roads.
