  • No kidding, Mickey714061! I was a junior in high school in Salt Lake City listening to the Stone Pony--What a great era!

  • There is NO female voice that even compares to Karla!

  • Karla is one of the finest songwriters of this generation. And a voice to match. Want a treat?. Also search out her quartet with Andrew Gold [ RIP] Kenny Edwards, [ also RIP] and Wendy Waldman called Bryndle . . Simply some of the most beautiful music ever recorded. .

  • Wynona's version is good, but it's a carbon copy of Karla's arrangement. They even had Karla come in a play the guitar intro on Wynona's session. Wynona's version does have more balls to it mainly because of Wynona's ballsy voice. Great song.

  • Wywannabe Judd couldn't carry Bonoff's and Ronstadt's microphone bags!

  • I think Karla does a nice job on this song but I don't think she does as well as Wynnona. Frankly, I don't think it is even close. I don't think she has the vocal range or tsings with the emotion of Wynnona.

  • Can you tell me where this video came from? If it is on DVD, I'd love to track it down.

  • A great performance by both! Once again. We are Blessed w/ Karla..what a great talent. It doesn't matter who sings Karla's songs...they're all GREAT.

  • Terrific! Thank you for sharing.

  • KARLA LOOKS LIKE A DIKE IS SHE??

  • @dannys2222 What is this fetish you have with "dikes"? I still say you are five years old....

  • @dannys2222 Can you at least attempt to spell correctly?

  • This version of the song is pretty good..and Karla is one good looking woman...I like it!!!! on my 4th playback of the vid!

  • Linda Ronstadt as your backup singer...that's like, what? Having Albert Einstein help you with your math homework? Karla is great though.

  • @goodwineguy this is because the one with the talent is karla bonoff. if she'd had a face like linda's she'd have been a superstar and everyone would know her name.

  • @idseer: What a load of BS. Ronstadt has an astronomically better voice then Bonoff. The fact that you don't hear that, means you're simply DEAF. Ronstadt no talent?.....go back to watching Spears or any number of female hacks in today's music. What an idiot.

  • @Seaclam67 lol ... if only you had a clue. :)

  • @goodwineguy what's interesting....both of them started their careers as back up singers! Linda has sang back up for Bonnie Raitt, Karla Bonoff, Phoebe Snow, Carole King, James Taylor and a host of others as have a cavalcade of other performers. The vocal blendings is what you want to watch/listen for. for a good example, listen to "Married Men" a duet by Linda Ronstadt and Phoebe Snow broadcast on Saturday Night Live. AWESOME.

  • @rpscot Where were you in 1967? Linda Ronstadt was on the radio with the Stone Ponies and a hit song, (Different Drum). Bonnie Raitt was at Radcliffe in Cambridge, Phoebe Snow was 15 years old and in high school, James Taylor was in London. The opinions on the music are subjective, the facts... not so much.

  • @MICKEY714061 I was in 5th grade and I had just heard of The Stone Ponys!

  • @goodwineguy That's a funny analogy however; to those in the music business, these two women have long been regarded as equals in the talent dept. I'm fairly sure that either of them would candidly defer to the other as being more talented.

  • @MICKEY714061 Interesting, I stand corrected! I'll retain my crush on Linda however, while I find a Bonoff CD to check out. What's a good CD to get to know her voice and music? Anyone?

  • @goodwineguy did you ever check out karla's music. her first 2 albums -- karla bonoff and restless nights -- are her best, i believe.

  • @goodwineguy YEA! That's no kidding= = my thoughts exactly!! lol lol Like using your Rolls- Royce to haul the trash to the dump! ......

  • Wynonna's version and Karla's verison both rock

  • I adore Karla, great songwriter, but she's not a natural performer -- that's why Wynonna's version is great but couldn't exist without K-- you gotta take the good with the bad here. Personally, I love how cool and supportive Ronstadt is about Bonoff's flub going into the song. That's a pro. A real pleasure to watch overall.

  • Wow; how great are these two together!

  • Karla sounds awesome - as always.

  • Karla Bonoff, te amo linda. Cantas lindo.

  • Linda makes ANYONE better

  • hepinizin anasını sikerim

    şarkı mükemmel

    ne mutlu türküm diyene

  • its funny how Karla sounds so bad until Linda starts and makes Karla sound so much better

  • Yea, I agree with Tutone66. Wynonna did very admirable, very classy cover of this.

  • 彼女は、素晴らしい!

  • just gorgeous!.

    more of this please!.

  • These two are incomparable talents. Too bad Karla doesn't release more albums; she's amazing.

  • @avilleguy I totally agree with you! Sincerely, BobbyK

  • I believe this was around 1991 or maybe '92.

  • I have a heart on for both Karla and Linda......:)

  • I heart Karla and Linda too.

  • Karla comes in too soon, she and Linda are just laughing,

    so cute!

  • When was this? I love both ladies!!!!

  • Saw Karla Bonoff in Dallas in 1977 backing up Jackson Browne....she was one of the best.

  • This is a Song Writer !! Linda, just has to be her cousin !!!!

  • At her website, it is stated that Karla considers herself to be "semi-retired".She is content with going out on short tours a few times a month.

  • What became of Karla Bonoff?

  • She's got a Web site, and still performs ---

  • I really like this song.

  • I love Karla Bonoff and Linda Ronstadt has one of the great voices of our time!

  • I believe this was around 1989.

  • Fantastic, what was the date of this performance? Thanks for posting!

  • Fantastic! Karla and Linda together. What a rare video treat. Now, if Linda would just return to rock and roll I would be a happy camper.

  • This Song ROCKS

  • Ever hear Wynonna Judd sing it? It is amazing!

  • Love Wynonna singing this song!

  • Not sure why blogger get a thumbs down for saying they love Wynona's version of this song. Wynonna nails this song, it's beautiful. I love Karla and Linda, two great female rockers. I also wish LR would return to her roots.

  • @Tutone66 I just heard the Wynonna Judd version of this song and it really sucks. Nobody does it better than Karla Bonoff

  • What a treat. Thank you for this video

  • Wonderful Karla!"

  • Wow! I had a big crush on Wynonna Judd in her carefree macho 80s big-hair days when she covered this song, somehow totally missing that it was a composition of Karla's, who I had an even BIGGER crush on in the 1970s. Thanks for this.

  • Cute girl on guitar but Linda is the girl.

  • Search her with bryndle

  • It is great to see these two women together sounding equally great. This is one of my favorite Karla Bonoff songs.
