Why would you leave your detector half a mile away. I get that you might want to explore and I realize that detectors are heavy also, but I would think that I might lose mine.
Love the enthusiasm you put into every find, I live in western NY and found 38 complete milk bottles along with various other bottles from the 30's- 60's. That was a great day, 3 of which where creamer bottles. I sold almost all of them for $5 each the creamers I got $15 each for them.. I did keep a few for myself though.. I am keen to coke bottles.. I found one in the dessert in nevada and alot around here..
too awesome, looks like you hit the motherlode! makes me feel like packing up and heading down to the inlaws in SC even though it's 2000 miles to go metal detecting and potting around right now!!! your dad's hilarious.thanks for sharing.
@TrueAstralJerry Infinium LS works great, most got it for culpeper county VA and hot soil/ the beach. it will do fine as long as you dont take it to a really trashy site with lots of nails. no Target ID goes off tone.
I never seen anybody get so excited about an empty bottle before you sounded like you found a kilo of pure gold down that hole, well there is E-bay I suppose you can cash something out down the road when the stuff starts piling up.
Thats an old bottle dump. The champagne bottle is probably a turn mold so it should not have any seam on it. The bottom of that bottle is called a push up or kick up. The pink toned botlle, is sun colored amethyst. I would guess the most valuable one there would be the bottle works bottle. There should be a lot more bottles there. Maybe you'll find a few whiskies, patent medicines or an historical flask. Good luck and HH.
man those bottles are awesome! Keep on metal detecting and bottle hunting! Any find is a good find these days since many places are getting paved over and modernized.
Go back in a few weeks?? I'd be back there tomorrow! It's an awesome dump you've found, and it's got lots of really cool bottles just waiting to be uncovered. You and your dad should do really nicely from this bounty. Great video and enjoyed watching your adventures. GL & HH :D
No telling what is below those bottles? You did like i would do.Cut off the detector and make a day of digging bottles.Wish i could find someone to hunt bottles with me again. What do you use to keep ticks off of your clothes during a woods hunt?
Mike, one of these day's you are going to pee your pants on one of those digs.Remember "calm and slow". there you go, you can do it. Fantastic finds. Now I am going back out behind my house and look for whatever I can find. You sure are an inspiration to many.
@dswa2286 not sure , there not for sale tho. i would say the hutches can be valauble but the complete one is worth about 45 bucks . not sure about the others, nothing rare though, just old stuff.
Wonder why they had bottle dumps? I chuck mine out the window. J/K. Strange though. Nice finds. You must have a wall of bottles. Love to see a photo of them all. HH Nugg.
@kayleealways they had bottle dump because they needed a place to get rid of bottles so there livestock, horses etc wouldnt step on broken bottles and cut their feet open, just a place there threw all there junk..
Wow! great dump! sorry to burst your bubble but its not a pontil bottle, its a bubble bottomed champaign bottle, pretty common unless hand blown (if it doesnt have a mold line) When it comes to the peil bros (since i collect almost all ny bottles) they arent that rare but its hard to find one that isnt cracked on the inside
@chinchillaman1 if you would of watched the whole video you would of found out it wasnt pontiled becuase i mention that. when i dug it i thought it was pontiled , but after i cleaned the dirt out i found out it wasnt. we will go back soon
