I found out about Skidboot when I was watching Pet Star in the morning. I thought the episode was new, considering I've never seen it before. Now that I found out he died 3 years ago, it just hurt me. RIP Skidboot; smartest dog ever. I feel REALLY bad; imagine the owner ;(

I never hurd of this beautiful dog before, until I saw the vids on youtube, and now I learn he has died. that has really wrenched my heart. I know now it was 2007 but the story behind it is like so deep I can't even start to explain how I feel now. god bless you skid boot

I just heard about Skidboot from my friend. I had never seen him before and I watched the video in awe. What an amazing dog he was. I'm sad he's gone and I know what it's like to lose a much loved dog. Rest in peace Skidboot. You brought much joy to many children and adults.

I am about to part with my min pins/ Hans and Franz of 16 1/2 yrs of love. My heart aches so greatly, they're my 3rd set of kids and it never changes. They give so much love and ask so little in return. Arthritis and deaf and blindness have taken them in the last 6 months.... pain meds are of little use.... oh how I miss them already. Skid boot ,I know how your daddy felt... gone but never forgotten.... hope to see you upstairs with my Tazmo Twins....

I didn't know Skidboot died. I am devasted and tears all all over. I was looking for vidoes of him because I saw him once on Pet Star. I am so very sorry for his "dad" David Hartwig. How blessed they were to have each other. I agree with rockyburch below...only I'd take Skidboot over any friend I have. He beats 'em all. R.I.P. beautiful boy...run and be free like all our other companions that had to leave us behind. You will never be forgotten. I didn't know you...but I love you and always will.

I don't know if David himself reads any of this, but I want to send him my heartfelt condolences...I had a dog very similar to Skidboot--she was like my child. She was extremely intelligent as well, you had only to think of something to teach--she would learn it. When I lost her, at a young age (7 years ago, July 28) I lost a large part of my heart. She was truly my furry "soulmate". I will miss her always. David-I feel so much for you--I hope we all will meet our friends again someday...

Very sad. Skidboot and his owner had some much love for one another. It's heatbreaking when people die, but it's very different when a pet is lost. It hurts more to me personally due to the unconditional love. RIP Skidboot for sure.
